A 'Vampire Lemonade' Tea

Fruit Herbal White Blend by Custom-Adagio Teas

Blood orange tisane outshines white tangerine (20 percent) and lemon grass (20 percent) in this delicious, refreshing blend. Try it iced for a homage to summer, or drink it hot to reminisce on winter days.
Story

If you have spare mint, add a touch of spearmint for an extra kick. Sweet enough on its own, but add sweetener as desired.

Created by: Carolynne Keenan
Contains: blood orange, white tangerine, lemon grass

HOLY COW this aroma is CRAZY strong!

Before infusing it’s a strong lemon, tangerine, grapefruit combo
after infusing it’s a little bit mellower but still strong orange, lemon, white tea type

The color is a reddish-orange – very vibrant!

The taste is orange and tangerine and then lemon pops in. It’s puckery and tart but a good puckery-tart. I like that this has the White Tea in it…I think it would be too tarty for me with out it. Having said that…I really like this. Right now I am drinking it HOT and it’s a really good fruity flavored white tea and it is really true to it’s description.

I am looking forward to this iced…I am predicting it will be pretty freakin’ awesome!!!!

Divvy Swap, Divvy Swap…yeah, yeah, YEAH! See previous notes

I’m having one last cup before sharing the rest of this one from my stash. This time around – COLD BREWED – in my Steep & Go…

This does taste like a fruitier lemonade while cold.

I’m continuing the tradition of not rating my own teas. Since Vampire Lemonade is one of my Adagio creations, I’ll just comment on its awesomeness. (And I am beyond biased, here.)

Love the aroma – tangy and orangey. Fun! Summery!

Love the taste – like an orange lollipop. A sweet blend of juicy orange with white tangerine and mellow lemongrass makes this just pop!

Named Vampire Lemonade for its liquor – bright red.

Please note, I am not a Twilight fan. I am a fan of Vampires, though, as long as they are done right: True Blood, Vampire Diaries, etc. Not Twilight! OK, I’ve stated my piece.

Enjoy!

I am annoyed that when I type “Vampire” for this tea in a search, “Edward” pops up. The Twilight Mary Sues are not vampires!

OK. I’m over it.

I love this tea. It’s so refreshing, citrus-y and even revitalizing in a way. Probably helped me get over that Twilight outburst there. :)

Please see other notes. I’m normally not this psychotic.

Love the zesty smell you get when opening this bag. So delightful, so cheery. So needed this dreary afternoon! (See other notes…and this is one of mine so I’m completely biased.)

I won’t rate this one, as it’s my own blend from Adagio. But I needed something to rid my mouth of that horrid Cinnamon Raisin Toast one. I always have plenty of this one on hand so my Vampire Lemonade righted all that was wrong (almost).

Hey, if you have a signature blend from Adagio and want to swap with me, lemme know!

I just love how these flavors work together. Bloody orange is one of my new fave tisanes. :)

2nd infusion – just as tasty as the first. Sweet!

Perfect for this afternoon. :)

Major citrus aroma coming through as it steeps. The taste is simply WOW. The blood orange is really coming through as is the white tangerine….soooo good (I may be drooling). Honestly I can’t really taste the lemongrass which is shocking since it had such a strong smell prior to the infusion. I’m usually not a fan of citrus teas, but this I like and that is saying something.

Mmm thankfully I had the thought to bring this sample from KeenTeaTime (KiTT) with me this morning. (Almost had an allergy mishap and drank some tea with “strong hints of coconut” in it! This tea is so yummy I wish we’d had some ice in the office fridge but this is really awesome hot too.

See other note on this tea.

Oh I love this. Thank you so much for the sample of it, KeenTeaThyme.

I didn’t like Adagio’s blood orange on its own, but this makes it a million times better. The problem with it by itself is it’s too sour and flat, this blend is perfect. It brings out the orange, and you can taste both the sweet and the tart.

It’s good hot or cold. I can’t decide which I like better (tastewise at least, I can tell you my hands wish it were hot again right now). When I am not overly supplied on tea I am buying some of this.

Another sample from AlphaKitty. Eh, this one didn’t do much for me. I think the blood orange has something to do with that, its very overwhelming. Not my cup of tea unfortunately.

I love this tea. I knew I would since I love the bloody orange herbal from adagio, but this is so much more. The orange and lemon flavors really do seem to piece together the white tea so well.

I used a heaping tsp and steeped for five minutes, but it was still on the weak side. I think next time I will use two tsps. I think a little stronger, and it will make a very fine iced tea.

I used my ingenuitea to brew up five tsps in just over a cup of water, then I drained it into my tea pot and added enough water for five cups of tea, put it in the frig, and now have some bodacious cold tea. This stuff if fabulous.
