This was a sample from TeaTiff. The leaves are very small and somewhat broken, and almost black in color. There are a few ivory-colored flower petals mixed in along with a few other bits and bobs that I can’t identify. Dry scent is vaguely sweet and dessert-y, I can pick out almond but not necessarily chocolate.

Mm, aroma! Steeped, this tea smells heavily of cream along with some almond and orange. This tea is almost creamsicle-y, but with more emphasis on the cream than the orange. I’m not really getting any chocolate, but there’s definitely an almond pastry flavor, which is quite lovely. This tea brings to mind some kind of orange and almond-flavored tea cake with glaze. I’m sure a touch of sugar would bring out the dessert flavors even more.

Thanks to MissB I finally got to try this one! I really enjoyed it!
It kind of tastes like a cookie. Sweet, almondy. I would love to have more to really overleaf so that I could make the flavours pop.

Wishlisted!

Well, I’ll be. I have a job interview next week. Huzzah!

And this tea is very nice! I’d completely forgotten what was meant to be in it when I made it, but as it brewed I got a fragrance most strongly reminiscent of biscuits. Like, plain rich tea biscuits: that simple comfort, not too sweet, the kind of thing your gran always has on hand to serve with tea when you come round to visit. A tea that smells just like those biscuits is kind of the best kind of meta.

And then there’s the flavour. And it’s rich and nutty and cozy and very nice indeed. I’m not sure I’d have picked out that it was chocolate I was tasting until I read that it was chocolate and almond, but then I was like, yeah, I totally get chocolate. So there’s that. And it’s not the sort of very marzipanny sort of almond flavour you get in a lot of almond teas, but more just a nice, creamy nuttiness. And I’m not sure I’d have picked out orange in it either, but I think it serves to sort of bolster the other flavours, rather than standing out as a flavour in itself. So all things considered, it’s a very interesting tea, and also very very good. Many thanks to Ysaurella for sending this little gem my way!

Ysaurella

fingers crossed for the job !

TeaBrat

good luck on the interview!

Thanks guys! It’s right up my alley, but a bit of a commute and not quite full time, but better than being a temp, I think? Oh, who knows.

This is another tea from MissB’s mystery pack. Thank you.

This one is probably my least favorite of the french teas that I have tried. I like it, but nothing about rang keep me forever. The almond in this hit me right a way with a twinge of chocolate and then a hint of orange at the end. I like it, but I think the chocolate in the middle caught me off guard a bit. A well balanced good cup, but not a favorite.
