From Darlene's Teaport

Pu-erh is known for its musty, earthy character (sometimes described as old or elemental) that results from the pu-erh process. The leaves come from the Yunnan Dayeh variety of tea tree, purportedly a close relative of the original tea tree! The Chinese believe it has medicinal qualities, potentially lowering cholesterol and cleansing the body.
