Sipping this tea while I am waiting for the milk to come up to the right temp.
I am making Chevre cheese with all this goat milk around.
I am milking a friend’s goats while she away and have tons of milk around.
So, I am making into cheese, buttermilk and ice cream.
Anyway, I realized while I was sipping this tea that I never logged it.
It is a pretty standard Sencha.
Which is good, because that is sometimes exactly what I want.
Dry leaves smell of hay drying in the sun.
The tea itself does not actually have much of a odor, very light hay smell.
The color is a light yellow.
Taste is grassy and bright.
A bit of a bite or astringency at the back of the throat.
A very enjoyable afternoon tea!

Wow! I am absolutely in awe of you! Cheese! I’ve never had it homemade!

Bonnie

Oh delicious! I wish my daughter had some goats on her farm. She has the room and a barn and knows how to make cheese and me to eat it! The ice cream…oh yes! So good! Lucky you! Do you make feta too?

gmathis

Love pizza with feta and sun-dired tomatoes :) Doggone it, y’all are making me hungry!

Hesper June

Gmathis: Cheese can be intimidating, but it really is not hard to make at all:)
Bonnie: Goats are simply awesome. But I grew up on a Goat Milk Farm, so maybe I am biased;) And yes, I have made feta before.

Lynne-tea

OOohh lucky! I love goats milk! What a treat =)

Skulleigh

I’ve been looking at mozzarella recipes lately, thinking I’d like to try making it at least once. Of course, I’d like to try everything in the world at least once :D

Lynne-tea

Me too Skulleigh! Except live monkey brain and shark fin soup..
