Margaret's Hope Darjeeling

Black Tea by DAVIDsTEA

Discover one of the finest teas from one of the very best tea gardens in Darjeeling. Named after the owner’s daughter, Margaret, who fell in love with the magical beauty of the region back in the 1930s, this rare second flush is prized for its fruity muscatel flavour and delicious astringency. Sought after by tea connoisseurs around the world, it’s a luxurious taste experience that every tea lover must try.

My favourite tea. To me this is the quintessential cuppa, the one that screams THIS IS TEA. it’s my first darjeeling – which for me like many tea lovers was my “aha!” moment. i could probably drink this all day every day.

I just can’t get over the perfect balance of flavour and mouthfeel and aroma.. that being said, it can be finnicky and it’s possible to over or under steep and sacrifice some of that balance. i found this time three minutes, just under boiliing, worked great, and even a second steeping for 4 retained some astringency and just a subtle hint of muscatel.

Let me reiterate a certain mathematical proof as stated in a previous discussion with Michelle Butler Hallet, that Darjeeling = bliss.

Darjeeling = TEA ,
TeaEqualsBliss ,
Therefore
Darjeeling = bliss.

I really enjoyed this tea – my first Darjeeling. Excellent fruity tang and good bite, full enough to stand a drop of milk, but self drinking without. Loved it. Shame they are sold out right now.

Delicious black tea. I have had better Darjeeling’s, but I have definitely also had worse. DAVIDs TEA has never steered me wrong, and this one is no exception.
