From DAVIDsTEA

The classic of classics

There’s nothing better than waking up to a genuinely fabulous cup of English Breakfast tea. Which is why we took great care in choosing our signature blend. We were looking for the perfect balance. Something with body and a satisfyingly full flavour, without being overpowering. The winner? A flowery pekoe from Sri Lanka. You’ll find yourself drinking it all day long. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Black tea from the Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula and Uva districts (Sri Lanka), black tea from Kenya blended with Assam teas from India.

A fine way to have some pep in your step in the morning. This black tea makes you ready up and go! Its a comforting black tea that brings upon thoughts of sunshine. It will awake your tastebuds but not too strong. It can be drank or without cream But if you wanna sweeten up this morning tea I would suggest either a teaspoon of honey or brown sugar with a plash of cream

I was in the mood for a smooth black tea today and that was just what this tea delivered. Although I have had Earl Grey and Cream of Earl Grey in the past, I wanted to try something a little different today. This tea is basically straight black tea which means that it is a little less sweet than the other ones I previously mentioned. This tea is very well rounded and full-bodied which gave it a robust and distinctive flavour profile. I really enjoyed it as a nice alternative and will be having this one again in the future. I had mine warm with soy milk and agave. This would be delicious as a latte as well!

I usually use this to mix with flavored black teas to “dilute” the flavoring a bit. Especially for fruity teas that are mostly fruit, I will usually mix 1:1 ratio of this to make my drink more tea-flavored. Not sure if that makes any sense..

Anyway, this may be the 1st or 2nd time I’ve had this by itself. It’s one of the few teas I keep at work and really need some caffeine before meeting with the boss. It reminds me of tea I had when I was younger – the kind that needs sugar and milk. Now I can drink it without sweetening, but it is a little bitter. Definitely keeping this one around though.. it’s great mixed with other stuff.

Tea of the morning here. I was at David’s yesterday and I felt like I needed another breakfast tea, so I rather optimistically bought a 4 oz. tin of this without trying it first.

Directions say to steep for 4 -5 minutes so I decided to do mine for 5 minutes. Yuck! I definitely think this is too strong for me, very brisk, bitter in the finish and too assertive in general. Normally I like assams so I have to believe it’s the ceylon doing this, or perhaps 5 minutes is just too long of a steeping time. I’ll report back after trying it at 3 minutes sometime but right now I’m just wondering if they’ll let me exchange this. Icky.

At least it seems to be waking me up…

I’m not really a fan of plain black teas, so English Breakfast was just average for me. It tasted similar to other English Breakfast teas I’ve had in the past, and nothing jumps out at me as special.

It’s fairly strong and quite bold, with very little sweetness. Something like this would definitely appeal to those who favor plain black teas, but this isn’t a tea I would order or choose for myself.

I haven’t had this blend in a while, so I figured I’d give it a proper review. I picked some of this up yesterday for my need to have a plain, straight black tea to have in my stash at work. And it was cheap, so problem solved. I like this – it’s very basic, but that’s what I like about English Breakfast blends. Black tea as it should be!

Good, reliable standard. Goes well with milk. Smooth and full-bodied. Nothing extraordinary, but does the trick for a nice cuppa anytime of day.

This is a nice version of plain english breakfast.

I find it comparable to Twinnings in flavour – I haven’t tried loose twinning’s EB but the bags. I prefer the David’s to the bagged twinnings but considering the cost difference, I will probably not repurchase.

Still this is one of the cheapest teas at Davids and is an honest plain black
