From DAVIDsTEA

Yo ho ho-conut

Hot buttered rum is so delicious we want it all day long. Unfortunately, most employers frown on workplace drunkenness, so we came up with this rich and creamy alternative. Toasted coconut and vanilla beans mingle with black tea in a caramelized caress of flavours. Decadent hot or iced, it also blends perfectly with dark rum, brown sugar and a dash of milk – so go ahead and indulge your inner pirate, off the clock. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Organic: Fair Trade Certified Black tea, coconut flakes, vanilla beans, cornflower petals. With organic and natural flavouring*.

Mmmmmm. Not an everyday tea for me, but a tea perfect for chilly Monday afternoons when the weekend feels ever so far away. When brewed just right, with enough tea, this tea turns a lovely buttery rum color and smells delicious. I can taste butter and rum and coconut; and tend to purr the whole time I’m drinking it.

The floral, bold aroma from the vanilla combined with the tropical coconut is quite intoxicating and I am sure this would taste awesome with rum. I love to sip this tea in the afternoon for a quick pick-me-up while working. I wouldn’t suggest this as a breakfast tea as with most David’s black teas, they are just not strong enough to get the am going.
Try this tea with a piece of chocolate pound cake.

Definitely one the best flavored teas I’ve had from DAVIDSTEA. It’s AWESOME to say the least. The very smell of it is as delicious as it smells. The tea has subtle hints of coconut, the forefront having a nutty taste. My only complaint is that the black tea taste is a little lacking. Other than that, drink up and enjoy it.

This is one of my favourite black teas out there. Sweet but not too sweet. The coconut isn’t too strong of a flavour, but definitely adds to the flavour. The flavour reminds me of Butter Rum Life Saver candies, which have always been favourites of mine. Tastes as good as it smells!

Unlike most of my experiences with David’s Teas, I actually didn’t like the smell of this one dry – like the buttered popcorn-flavoured jelly bellys – but once steeped, it’s quite tasty. Not sure if I’m crazy enough about it to actually buy more, but definitely one of the better ones so far in my advent calendar.

Had this tea on the way to orchestra today to kill my sweet craving! I did enjoy it, however it wasn’t what I expected. I expected more of a buttered rum toffee taste for some reason. So it wasn’t as sweet as I would have liked, even with the sweetener in it. But it did have a hint of the rum and butter taste that I was craving and did in fact take away my sweet craving. The smell however is amazing,

One of my favourites. I don’t know how they make coconut and vanilla taste like buttered rum, but it’s genius!

This tea is disgusting straight. The first couple times I tried it, I had no idea what I was doing wrong. But add some milk and sugar and it transforms into a sweet, warm butterscotch that is really, really good.
