This tea is reasonably good with notes of malt that are very mild. It’s also got a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste to it, not sure however if that’s the tea or my taste buds. I did just finish breakfast.

I steeped this one time in a Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 minutes.

This was a replacement for the other David’s English breakfast.

The leaf looked much more broken, but there were more tips.

Overall the dry leaf smelled better than the previous one.

Nothing to write home about though. Actually, I find this one so unexciting that I didn’t even finish it all.

I’m starting to wonder what is going on at the lower end of the sprectrum.

Did tea used to taste good and now doesn’t at a certain price point?

I really like good straight black teas. This one is traditionnal : a simple yet delicious breakfast tea that wakes you up and prepares you for the tasks at hand. It costs more than English Breakfast, but I bet it is because it is organic. Great flavour, astringent.

Bought a bunch of the sachets off the David’s tea website since they were 40% off. This is actually my moms bday gift in a month and a half but I wanted to make sure that this tea would be the the right kind since she only likes plain black tea- thus I stole one of the 60 sachets :P . Overall it’s a nice black tea- I only steeped it for about a min so it wouldn’t get bitter. I’m sure she’ll like it :).

I don’t think that I enjoy this blend of India and Nepal black teas as much as I do the individual teas. Not a bad cuppa, though.

I was looking for a good breakfast tea, and was optimistic because I like some of DT’s other black tea offerings, but this one disappointed me. I don’t know how to describe it – it just didn’t taste very good… like a substandard execution of a Ceylon blend. I’ll finish off my 24g sample pack (because I hate to throw away “good tea”), but I certainly won’t be buying any more.

I’ll stick with a couple of other DT’s black teas that I like (Wild Yunnan black, Nepal black) until I find something yet better. They’re a little more expensive, but well worth it.

I bought some of this looking for a breakfast tea to keep at my desk at work. Meh, was not impressed. It has a lackluster flavor and tastes as if it’s been sitting on your shelf for too long. This was a dud.

This tea is simple and nicely balanced, not too heavy. I don’t usually enjoy straight black, but this was great! I topped it off with 1.5 oz milk and a bit of monk fruit sweetener, and it was delicious. The caffeine was a nice pick-me up in the morning too.

Day 7 of the advent calendar. I’ve never met a breakfast tea that I didn’t like. Made a mug full of this with a little agave nectar and milk. Yum! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Another tea that I could drink every day. Has a toasty flavour with no bitterness. I find all breakfast teas, regardless of what brand, pretty much taste the same so even though this tea didn’t stand out as being anything out of the ordinary, it was a winner for me in it’s familiarity.
