From DAVIDsTEA

Rich, spice-filled and comforting, with a hint of caramel – like a slice of pumpkin pie!

The forever fall must-have. This rich premium black tea is the perfect way to kick off the season. It’s got all the warmth of cinnamon and cloves, plus the sweetness of caramel and pumpkin candy. For a truly unforgettable pumpkin chai latte experience, top it up with steamed milk and stir in a spoonful of brown sugar.

What makes it great
• This is the only spiced black tea that’s come back every season since debuting in our very first fall collection.
• Makes the perfect fall chai latte – especially topped with frothed milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
• Try steeping it into custard for an autumnal crème brulée.

Ingredients: Black tea, Cinnamon, Cloves, Caramel (condensed skimmed milk, sugar, glucose syrup, butter, sorbitol, mono and diglycerides), Carrot, Lemon peel, Pumpkin candies (sugar, rice flour, palm and palm kernel oil, corn starch, gum Arabic, cellulose gum, FD&C Yellow 6, confectioner’s glaze, carrageenan, soy lecithin, artificial flavouring), Pumpkin flakes, Natural and artificial pumpkin spice flavouring.

When I asked to smell this tea, I was surprised by the little shocks of orange in the mixture, which turned out to be these cute little pumpkin candies! So silly, DAVIDsTEA. I wasn’t personally worried that they would make the final product too sweet, since I add sugar to even my pasta, but this may be a worry for others? Anyway, the tea is a black tea and also contains cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, caramel and pumpkin pieces.

I got this tea at the London DAVIDsTEA location in the latte form, accompanied by soy and a squirt of agave. I’m not sure if it was just how the lady at the store made it – perhaps she didn’t steep it for long enough so the flavours were under powered – but the soy seemed to vastly overpower the pumpkin, which gives me the impression that this is a tea that is easily made weak. The flavour profile of soy is certainly not stronger than that of pumpkin!
The whole of this tea was improved, however, by adding a dash of cinnamon. Pumpkin and cinnamon? A beautiful marriage.

I have a small issue with the naming of this tea, as the chai just wasn’t there, especially not under the milky cape of the soy. I would hesitate to sell this as such. This is an issue DAVIDsTEA seems to have with many of their chai teas… perhaps I’m too strict? Haha, regardless, I would certainly recommend this to be steeped with a little more than the amount they ask for. It’s got a good (albeit a little weak) pumpkin pie flavour, which can only be made better by making it into a latte with 2 percent milk, leaving no room for the pumpkin to be bumped out by soy.

This was a really welcome change from the majority of ‘fruity’ teas that I have. When taking a sip I could taste the black tea base, and the pumpkin pie flavor really kicked in towards the end of the sip. Not overly spiced or pumpkin-y, but a really nice blend. Can’t wait to try it as a latte!

This is the tea that made me fall in love with Davids Tea. It’s the perfect pumpkin-y spicy chai-y comforting blend. I always stock up around fall since it’s only seasonal which is a bummer :( oh well, I really can’t even complain about this amazing tea.

I do really like this tea. The funky David’s base is hidden pretty well by the pumpkin. I don’t taste a lot of spice, mostly just pumpkin.

Very good seasonal tea! I’m not a huge fan of black tea but boy this one lives up to the name. I got a bit of this last autumn so I had to again when it got cold out. So popular for a reason – this homemade is way better than anything from Starbucks.

Tastes like Fall feels. A nice blend of pumpkin and spice. Great latte.

I don’t know… I feel like the only one who doesn’t get it. To me, this tea doesn’t taste like enough of anything— not enough chai, not enough spice, not enough pumpkin. It doesn’t taste bad, it just doesn’t taste like much of anything. Such a bummer, because I SO wanted to love it.
On that note, I’m sitting on about 75g of it— as Fall Teas are leaving stores tomorrow, anyone want to arrange a trade?

I couldn’t pick a favourite tea from David’s Tea if I tried, but if I really had to pick one, it just might be this one. It makes the best lattes! I make very low fat lattes with 1% milk and a teeny bit of stevia and it tastes like an evil, fattening treat. This is my go-to tea when I’m trying to watch my figure and cut down on goodies. Just when I start to feel deprived and sorry for myself, I’ll make a pumpkin chai latte and I’m happy.

I just received this tea in the mail today and let me just say, it’s absolutely FABULOUS!!! You can really taste the pumpkin in it. I just wish it had a little more of a chai flavor. I threw in some cinnamon sticks I smashed into little pieces and it really helped the flavor. I also used some of the Teavana rock sugar which made it taste even better with its molasses flavor. All in all, a fantastic blend!I’m also willing to trade 5-10 grams of this tea! If you’re interested, reply to this note or pm me! I’ll take care of postage.

Omnomnomnom. This tea honestly isn’t that great if steeped in just water; I think it tastes weak. But! If steeped in half milk, half water with a bit of brown sugar and a cinnamon stick, it’s so incredibly delicious. It’s my goto make-any-day-better drink :)
