I love the smell of this tea dry. It’s all peppermint and marshmallows and it reminds me of my freshman year dorm room around this time of year. It’s the joy of the holidays in tea form.

Steeped with no additions … eh, I’m not so sure. The taaste reminds me unpleasantly of Sugar and Spice. Remembering how much better Read My Lips was with the addition of some milk and sugar, I added just that. Marshmallow. Peppermint that comes out more as the cup cools. What a nice breakfast tea.

Creamy, minty, christmasy. I think this was in the massive tea package I sent to my friend, not sure. Either way, I’m not too worried about losing it. Reminded me of Read My Lips, only a bit…sweeter. Perhaps too sweet for me. I’ll probably pick up some more around christmas next year, although I might forgo that, especially if Cookie Dough comes back next year.

It’s almost April (which means spring SHOULD be arriving sometime in the next few weeks up north) The sun is shining, and it’s a nice 30-some degrees. Tomorrow is Easter, and here I sit, curled up on the couch with a mug of Santa’s Secret. (quite happily so, I admit) I kept trying to reason and convince myself to try a tea that fit better with the season (Lime Gelato, Pom Tango, something more summery…) but I just couldn’t do it. But ya know, sometimes you just need Christmas in July. Or March. Same difference, right?

This stuff is so ridiculously intoxicating! I am totally swooning over here. It’s definitely more of a wintery flavor, with blasts of sweet, icy peppermint infused with a luscious black tea base. Mmmmm…..

I have officially found another staple for my tea stash. Can winter last forever so I have an excuse to drink this all the time?

Delicious tea! Although I wish the mint in it was a little stronger…but that’s just me. I like my teas to have a big minty flavor to them. Otherwise this is a good tea. Thanks for the sample DT!

I think this tea is just perfect! It’s not too minty to me, and still quite calming or soothing without being too POW peppermint in your face. I think it would be awesome with some vanilla soy. Yum. Might have to try that later tonight :) love this tea! Plus the little candy canes are too cute.

Santa’s Secret…I don’t really know where to start with this one, I can’t figure out any puns that suit this seasonal holiday tea. I can assure you that you could easily compare a drinking a mug of this to drinking a mug of Christmas.

Dry the tea is your typical black tea, contrasting the dark tea leaves are little mini candy canes. It has a very light and basic aroma of peppermint that is quite subtle on the nose. Brewed this tea will treat you to a golden brown brew that is very clear and clean. It has only what I can call a Christmas smell when brewed, definitely peppermint but other tones give it a unique smell.

The final brew is delicious you can certainly taste the peppermint in it, it is great without any sweetener, but I think a little bit really brings it to life giving it that real candy cane like feeling.

This is a very sweet tea, so some drinkers may want to take that into consideration. Certainly worth grabbing some while it is in season as it will probably be hard to get sick of this tea, stock up while you can because you may develop cravings in the middle of June!

Mmmm! I only bought 16g, just enough for a few tastes! I will be ordering some more online before it goes, it is really good. I love read my lips, and I love mint tea, so while I expected to like this I didn’t really expect it to be too different. It’s really nice; the black tea base is perfect and it is minty but not too strong. It has a sweetness to it too – an excellent candy cane dessert tea :) It’s different enough from teas I’ve already tried to make me want to get more.

Not just for Christmas!

Santa’s Secret is one of the first teas I ever purchased from DavidsTea and I am just as happy with it now as I was those many years ago. One of my favorite combinations of mint with black tea, Santa’s Secret is a playful and delicious brew that I personally enjoy all year long.

Unsteeped, the tea has a strong smell of sweet peppermint and vanilla that initially drew me in. Once steeped, the tea has a strong peppermint flavor from the leaves, a light sweetness from the candies, and of course the rich, bold flavor of Chinese black tea. Unfortunately I find the vanilla flavor is less prominent once the tea has steeped which was a bit of a disappointment, but the end product is so delicious that I am willing to overlook the loss.

Overall, Santa’s Secret is a lovely, lightly spiced black tea which brings forth memories of Christmas and candy canes which is enjoyable either hot or cold no matter the season.
