Throat Soother

Herbal Tea by DAVIDsTEA

Lemon aid
What do lemongrass, lemon myrtle and lemon balm have in common? Yes, that’s right, they all happen to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and/or antiviral superpowers. Plus they’re delicious. And combined with marshmallow root, slippery elm and stevia leaf, they create a sweet, hot, healing, lemony tea that coats and soothes your throat. Bye-bye soreness, hoarseness and dry coughs.

What shouldn’t you do when your getting over one of the worst colds you’ve ever had? Go out for tapas with your favorite brother and sister in law, laugh so hard that you nearly choke on your thrid glass of sangria, and completely loose your voice trying to talk over the smarmy flamenco band. Great for the soul, but not so good for the already sore throat.

After a night of foolishness, what could be better than a lemony delicious cuppa? Throat Soother is just what I needed to to calm my cranky throat and make me decent company for the rest of the night.

Thank you QuiltGuppy for coming to my rescue once again with the right tea to fix what ails me :)

this season- this tea was my medicine- there a sort of comforting feeling – knowing that i can turn to this tea, each time i have a runny nose- and sore throat-. Since i travel alot, i stay in the hotel rooms that aren’t always well heated. So i carry this in my carry on- just incase i feel like the sniffles

I think this is going to have to be my tea for the day, my throat is starting to ache constantly. I have to be honest, it’s not my favourite tea, but I also don’t have a whole lot of use for herbals. The only time I ever drink them is to use them like medicine, ie the throat soother for my throat or sweet dreams for my insomnia or spearmint for my tummy.

That being said, I do enjoy this one when I drink it and it does help wonderfully for my sore throat. It just doesn’t leave me constantly reaching for my tea mug like the black teas and oolongs do.

I’m bumping this one up a little, simply because of how beautifully it is resteeping for me. This is my third steep of these leaves and it is still soothing and yummy. The flavor is growing on me as well…this is a wonderful little tea that I very much underestimated. First steep, I only left it for 5 minutes. Second, 10. This time, I left it for 15 and for the next steep, I’ll likely just leave it in the water until it’s cool enough for me to drink (30+ minutes…I like my tea lukewarm)

The more I drink of this, the more impressed I am.

I have a very bad cold so I mixed this one with Gail’s cold remedy and some honey, and it helps.
