From DAVIDsTEA

Spring eternal

Legend has it that Li Ching-Yuen was born in China in 1677 and died 256 years later in New York. His secret? Goji berries. Your secret? This hot pink tea filled with sweet, sweet goji berries, rosehips, citrusy lemon oil, apple, melon, marigold and hibiscus. It’s probably the most delicious longevity formula ever. Which is key, since you’ll be popping it for the next two centuries. Caffeine-free.

Ingredients: Apple pieces, goji berries, hibiscus blossoms, rosehip peel, honeydew melon cubes, marigold petals. With artificial flavouring*.

Goji berries and hisbicus = <3. Very tart, minus the rosehip. Now I can imagine myself reaching for this one from time to time.

I normally prefer something with more spice or herbal flavour in my tea (my favourite from David’s Tea is Mulberry Magic) but this tea is great when you need something fruity. The sweet and tartness of this tea are perfectly balanced (kind of reminds mee of cranberry and apple). Really enjoyable, especially when you want something fruity, but probably not my go to tea.

Just beautiful! Reminds me of summer with it’s fruit punchy taste and scent. Delicious and good for you? Can it be?

The after taste is quite different, its almost like there is something spicy underneath, I want to say cinnamon but I can’t quite put my finger on what it is.

This tea shall be added to my favourites.

My boyfriend ordered this as an iced tea to go. When I tried it the first time, it tasted really tart and light. From reading other reviews, it seems like it’s best this way and I agree! Before when I tried it I was kinda like, ‘Hmmm…not sure about this one’. I picked up a small sample bag to try and WOW, the tartness makes this tea. I tried it hot and iced and I think the iced version is the way to go with a tiny bit of agave to lift a bit of the tartness away. This is definitely made to be a summer tea and I think I will purchase this when spring rolls around :)

Love this tea. I left it to steep while drinking over half of it since I enjoy a stronger tea and it was wonderful. A little tart but that could be remedied by only steeping for the 5 minutes suggested. This was my sample tea in my first order and I am very glad I ordered it today when I placed my second order.

I’m not a fan of fruit/herbal teas, but a colleague at work offered some to try so of course I said yes (it’s DAVIDsTEA, hello!!?).

I can say that it is pleasant. I was looking forward to the melon taste and I think that helps sweeten it up a little, but I find the lemon a little overpowering. Overall, I’d say, thanks for the cup, but I think I’ll go buy some David’s Organic Breakfast and/or drink some Black Needles. ;)

EDIT: The one thing I DO love about fruit teas is that you can eat them after you’re done! NOMNOMNOMNOM

Dear Goji Pop,
I know this is kind of sudden, but…would you marry me? From the moment I first smelled you, I knew we were destined to meet. Your hot pink colour and sunny smell and fruity taste light up my day. Our wedding will be filled with flowers and sweetness, just like you. So, what do you say, Goji Pop? Would you be mine forever?

Maybe I just tend not to like popular teas or something, but despite all the hype about this as a clear favourite from the Spring Collection, I really don’t love it.

I can see that it would make a nice iced tea, but it doesn’t really taste particularly unique to me. Just a berryish undertone, a slightly sour aftertaste. A very fruity smell and taste overall. It is pretty to look at, I’ll admit.

I’ve had a cup and I definitely don’t yearn for more. It’s just OK. I don’t see myself buying more of this tea.

I think I just don’t have patience for iced teas, and this one tastes odd hot to me. And I think I’ve super confirmed I’m not a huge fan of fruity teas.

Goji Pop is a tea I’ll probably restrict to mornings.
In the bag, it smells refreshingly lemony with a hint of the typical ‘very berry’ smell and something kind of flowery. It’s interesting! But the aforementioned lemon is powerful in a way that makes the whole thing taste a little too much like hot lemonade with a berry aftertaste… which is yummy, but not what’s advertised.

Instead of partaking in this tea while hot, I much prefer to let it sit out and become cold. Iced, this tea is fantastic. While still not tasting like an authentic tea, it makes up for it by tasting like a citrusy bite of spring. The smell you get in the bag is what this tea tastes like cold.

EDIT: Goji Pop is tasty, but not much of a ‘bang for your buck’, as the saying goes. =P It’s made of bulky, candy-looking bits of apple and other things and the recommended amount for steeping is 2 tsp. With most tea places measuring/charging in weight rather than ‘you will get this many cups’, you’ll probably get much less out of this than DavidsTea’s other selections.
