After a long break from buying any tea, I finally walked into David’s today, looking for something yummy to drink tonight while I write an end of term paper. So I saw this tea featured and bought some. I didn’t even smell it before I got home, I was in such a hurry. But it was not a mistake. Once I put the water to boil and I opened a bag of this, and took a nice big whiff of it, I knew I was going to like it.
And like it I did. And very much so. I’ve never had anything with mulberry in it but I’ve had many teas with macadamia nuts. In fact, some of my favorite Lupicia teas are those with macadamia in them. This tea is reminiscent of Forever Nuts but not as nutty, much more sweet (which I like). Unfortunately, I think 5.30 minutes is a touch too long for me as it tasted bitter toward the end of the cup. I’ll try for 4.45 next time.

I always end up trying teas I secretly hope I’d like, but never end up liking…

This is another one of those.
This smells fantastic as I love me some macadamias. I could tell immediately that it would have a sweet note to it, with our without sweetener.

Made a hot mug of it. Couldn’t drink it all. The sweetness was a bit grassy. And it could be because I didn’t like Forever Nuts that I didn’t like this. I can’t tell. Come to think of it, it reminds me a bit of Matcha, but the sweetness is a more of a nutty one than a piney one. It also doesn’t have much of a “tea” taste. There’s very little “roast” taste to it, if at all. Not very strong in any sense.

Not my cup of tea for sure.

I think my verdict is, if you like Goji Pop, you’ll like this tea as well. Seeing I didnt’ like the former, I can’t say this result is surprising.

This one is delicious. It’s kinda like forever nuts without the beetroot, but…different? I don’t know. It tastes nothing like it smells, which isn’t a bad thing. It smells delicious and it tastes delicious, just in different ways. I’m curled around a big mug of it right now and I look forward to many more in the future! I can’t wait to cook with it.

My diet crashed and burned today. Note to self: When De is working until 9 and your big meal won’t be until 10, plan your bigger snacks in the evening, mkay? Guh. Made a cuppa this to try and curb the cravings, but as I waited for it to cool, I ate half of a huge tootsie roll, a candy bar, half a bag of crispy mini’s…guh. But this did work when I got around to drinking it. I’m still not a huge fan of the taste, and I likely will not replace it when the time comes.

Hmm. The smell wasn’t as strong for me as some other people described. It smells sweet and complex, and is a nice light tea. I wish it were a bit more nutty… anyhow, the health benefits are so great and it is pretty yummy, so it will have a place in my cupboard. Second steep is way weaker and I think a third would be hot water. Also, the vegetal after taste is not off-putting at all.

I liked this tea…which really surprised me. The smell is nothing unique and the colour is not the most appealing (kinda murkey grey-green) but the taste is really different…I believe that the taste (and the price) comes mostly from the macadamia nuts. I would drink again but I’m not sure that after my 10g bag is done I will want any more.

Wow. I was so pleasantly surprised with this one. From the smell upon opening the sample package I was a bit discouraged. It had a very strong nut/mulberry/something I can’t exactly pinpoint smell to it. I brewed it, not having very high hopes for it. I then got distracted and forgot it was brewing, making the brew time much longer than I would have liked. I thought I’d ruined it (luckily it’s a tisane), as I thought it would be way to powerful in the first place, judging from the smell.
SUPRISE! I actually really enjoyed this one, despite my over brewing. The flavors melded together quite nicely, and the nuttiness of the tea was delightful. I was very happy I gave this one a shot, and will be buying some for future enjoyment. Hopefully I can expand on this tasting in the future when I have it right in front of me, rather than doing the tasting note a day after.

The macadamia nuts add a nice buttery richness to this tea flavor.

This is my absolute favourite tea. When I first got it, I really liked it and then for some reason stopped drinking it for a while. Had it the other day and was literally sitting there thinking, “Why did I ever stop drinking this? It’s soooo good.” It’s vegetal and earthy with the right amount of nutty. It’s kind of naturally sweet but in the perfect way. It’s a nice tea for anytime.

They say that mulberry leaves are supposed to curb your cravings and I don’t know if it’s because I usually consume a large quantity or what but I do find that after a cup, I’m not really craving for sweets/snacks.

I would definitely recommend it. It’s truly magic :)

I thought this was going to be berry flavoured, but I was wrong. It tastes just like a macadamia nut cookie to me. Just like a mellow, buttery, delicious white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie…… oohhhh yes, yes, yes. However, the only reason I brought this tea home was because I got a free to-go mug from one of the staff. The smell of the dry leaves really didn’t appeal to me at the time. They smell kind of like vanilla rum. So I just paid for my pumpkin chai, forever nuts, and the skinny and got out of there. However, I had only walked a few hundred metres before I took a few sips, and turned right around and bought some to take home. It tastes nothing like it smells.

This one is so great. I used to drink multiple cups a day until I started venturing out to other teas. I still go back occasionally and remember why I love it so much. It is naturally sweet and has a full flavour from the nuts that is slightly vegetal.

this was a weird one. i’ve been wanting to try it since i started drinking davidstea and all the reviews on here are so positive!
first, i steeped as per the instructions on the package and honestly, it was like i had boiled some spinach and was drinking that. terrible. i had to dump it out.
then i read some more of your guys’ comments on here, tried hotter water, shorter steep time, AND in a tea bag, and it actually came out alright. i could taste the sweetness and the mulberry leaves were just a nice background note. as it cooled it even started to taste a bit milky, which was different, but not unwelcome.
overall, a rocky start but i think i could come to like this one!

One of the first teas I ever tried from David’s Tea; one of the sales-people let me smell it and I was hooked. It smells as amazing as it tastes. It’s somewhat sweet, but not overwhelming. It goes great with desserts.

This is my nightly indulgence. And by nightly, I mean I drink it literally every night. It tastes like a cup of vanilla cookies. Truly magical.

I heard about all the amazing benefits of mulberry leaves and wanted to try this tea. Not to mention the dry smell so delicious.
The 3 times I first tried this tea I over steeped it and it was so gross and earthy, so naturally I hated it. But someone made it for me with very specific instructions and now I can’t get enough of this tea!
The hot tea taste is sweet with nutty notes and it is a creamy sort of liquor and taste. I added a bit of agave and a splash of milk (which brings out the creaminess) and it was PERFECT!
I must stock up before I can’t get it anymore!

Mulberry Magic…. so many things to say about this lovely tea. First of all, its currently the tea of the day today at DAVIDsTEA and the customers have so far guzzled down 4 litres of it! I personally love the taste, it does not have too much of a nutty taste like many nutty teas do, but it definately has an awesome hint of macadamia to it. Its a very smooth tea that can make for an amazing tea latte. The only downside of this tea is the color-but no worries, just close your eyes while you sip on this bliss.

Ok but no bells and whistles for me on this one. I do like the mullberry fruit flavor which is sweet but the nuttiness tastes more like coconut than macadamia to me. Adds a depth and warm note that is nice but still, well…just nice as I said.

Second review. It’s been awhile since I drank this and just in case anyone thinks Mulberry has anything whatever to do with “berry”…ah…NO…and I’m glad of it. This is soooo different. I was writing down words as I sipped away…hot brick, dry straw, vanilla, slight honey, tiny hint of smoke….ok ok macadamia nut… as if I have them every day (don’t eat bricks or straw either but know what they smell like on a hot day). There is a round full- bodied flavor to this tea. Some tea is weak or the taste is gone before you can catch it. This is lasting. My preference is to add creme to this tea and some sweetness, it does not spoil the taste of the tea but elevates it. I would not consider this dessert but something entirely on it’s own. Steeped 4 minutes then 6 without bitterness.
Smooth equal to slipping between new 600 thread count Egyption cotton sheets (well, almost).

The smell is amazing. So familiar and yet unknown couldn’t stop smelling it try as I might.
This tea has amazing health benefits as well, always a plus.
Upon seeing the loose leaf itself I was a little put off because it was just so green and fiddle-head-like.
The tea in the cup was dark green and I found it hard to take the first sip even though the smell was so bewitching.
The taste was a little milky with an almost minty nutty after taste.
It’s undeniably pleasant but it has so many different things going on that it is definitely not an everyday tea though for it’s health benefits I wish it was.
The tea wavers between wonderful and weird never seeming to settle.
I will need to drink this whole pouch to figure out where I stand on it.
Never have I felt so divided about a tea.

Still not sure about this one…I have tried it twice and they both tasted different. I like it, it just isn’t something that I would drink everyday.
I like the smoothness of it though.

I am upping this rating a little again. For some reason, I had a craving for this last night. And so I decided to try it with some steamed milk…..yummy. The milk really brought out the macademia nuttiness. This really did the trick last night.

I do like this one more each time I try it. It is such a smooth and soothing flavour.
Even though I usually drink tea straight, a tiny splash of milk really brings out the macadamia flavour.
I am upping the rating a little bit

This tea smells scrumptious before and after steeping! I am impressed with how the sweet notes come through in liquid form. I drank my first cup black but the nuts bring a strong milky note. I think this will become a tea I will use to curve my late night sweet cravings since it is caffeine free. As a last note this tea is great all on it’s own and I can’t wait to taste it iced!
