Ugh, this RAIN. I normally don’t mind it too much, but this has been one of the wettest winters on record, and the drizzly greyness is totally sapping my will to do any of the things I need to accomplish. So I’ve been rummaging through my stash looking for something to boost my mood.

I go for a sachet of this, in part because it means I don’t have to wash any of my dirty teaware. The scent is unimpressive, even after steeping for 5 minutes, and the liquor is quite weak (“gentle”, if you prefer). The flavor is mostly orange peel with hints of peach and oolong, turning tart at the end of the sip. Aftertaste is quite nice. Next time I’ll try steeping it longer, or may even use 2 sachets.

I LOVE this tea! I think I am a big peachy apricot fan. I do find that my second or third steep is pretty tame and watery, not a huge fan of that which makes this tea quite pricey. I can’t wait to try this cold and hopefully the flavours will be even better.

I know nothing about oolongs. There was much guesswork done here. It was not a total failure!

1st steep – 2 minutes: It smells very peachy and a little nutty. It actually smells basically just like the dry leaves. The taste is a little weak, I think next time I’m going to do a longer steep or add more tea (this time I used 1.5tsp/12oz). It’s a little mouth drying but tastes peachy and nice and smooth.

2nd steep – 3 minutes 30 seconds: I think this would be a good studying tea. Still quite peachy but I would like it to be more full-bodied. Much less drying this time.

3rd steep – 5 minutes: Weeeaaak! Definitely using more tea next time.

Mmmm…peaches! I love this one! It’s fruity, refreshing and could be equally good iced and warm. This is one of my recent additions to the permenant collection! I found it really similar in smell to mango madness although the taste was a bit different.

Smells amazing in the bag and in the cup. Found the taste a bit disappointing, but still not bad for a flavoured oolong.

A nice, delicate tea, but there’s not as much peach flavour as I had hoped for.

Contrary to what my many negative reviews may have you think, I don’t completely hate David’s Tea. I’ve just been disappointed by a LOT of what I’ve tried lately.

However, one of their teas I will always adore is Long Life Oolong. It don’t care what is or isn’t in it, I just know that it tastes and smells amazing and I absolutely love it. The taste is clean, refreshing, and slightly sweet. It works well as a hot tea but it’s even more delicious when iced.

This is definitely a tea I’ll be stocking up on. I can’t get enough of it!

I’m not a big drinker of oolong teas – but I have a feeling that might be changing.

Picked this up at David’s Tea and brewed for 6 minutes (I like my tea pretty strong). The fruity aroma of the brewed tea was muted from the dry tea (which had a bit of a fake smell), but still delicious smelling (peaches, apricots and the slightest hint of almond).

I was very pleasantly surprised by this tea – the fruitiness of the peach and apricot nicely compliment the earthiness of the oolong and there’s a creaminess to the tea that is really enjoyable. It truly slides down your throat like buttah (as Paula Deen would say).

I also ended up trying it iced as well as I didn’t finish my cup before I had to leave the house, so I put it in the fridge. I really enjoyed this tea iced as well – I felt that creaminess really shone through and the hint of peach, apricot and almond were perfect iced.

Love this tea both hot and iced and I’m thinking if you like your tea sweet, the sweetness wouldn’t take away from the tea. Though I won’t be drinking this everyday, it will definitely be staying in my tea cupboard and regular rotation.

And I also feel that I should give it extra points for the Star Trek reference in the description (but I didn’t).

A bit of a sad but inevitable sipdown. Finished off the mini-tin that’s been part of my work cupboard for the last two years. The flavourings in this tea have certainly mellowed over the years, but it was still a sweet and fruity brew. I’ve never found another oolong with quite the same bright notes.

I don’t normally have much luck with peach in tea (which is weird, because I really like peaches when I eat them), but this one is doing OK. Nothing special…just a fruity-peachy tea. I might not be the biggest fan of oolong, but I don’t think black would have worked well here.
