From DAVIDsTEA

A new tradition

This popcorn tea is better than the real thing. First of all, it has no calories. Second of all, it’s sweetened with maple and apple. Third of all, it has green tea, which studies (well, ok, experience) say is the ideal brew for keeping you quietly alert throughout a late-night flick. Great for thrillers, dramas, westerns or comedies. Drink it at home or smuggle it into the theatre.

Ingredients: Apple, green tea, popped corn, artificial flavouring.

Instructions

1-2 Perfect Spoonfuls of tea
475 ml (16 oz) of 85℃/185℉ water for hot tea or 295 ml (10 oz) for iced
Steep for 3-4 minutes
or
Sip hot or top with ice for iced tea

One word, WOW! I bout a sample of this and I will definately going back for a tin! At first, it’s this sweet, almost nutty taste. This transforms into an spiced apple, with the popcorn taste present in the back and a kind of toffee/caramel sweetness which is hard to describe any other way then just plain delicious! David’s has had another great tea once again! Highly reccommended.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS TEA!

This tea is brilliant. I mean, come on, have you ever seen a tea with real popcorn pieces?! It’s unbelievable!

I found this tea to taste quite smooth. It is a green tea, which I am not usually a huge fan of, but this tea definitely got me excited to broaden my experiences with green tea! I found that this tea tastes similar to kettle corn, in the way that it is a perfect balance between salty and sweet.

I definitely recommend trying this tea for yourselves!

Day 44 of my 101 days of DAVIDsTEA challenge.

This was recommended by my favourite DT employee ever (though I will apologise for playing favourites….). It was what he was drinking too, and I said why not?

It kind of reminded me of caramel or kettle corn, with the sweetness of the apple meeting with the… buttered popcorn flavour which I have to assume came at least in part from the popcorn itself.

The flavour combination, I must admit, wasn’t my favourite. It wasn’t bad, but with the flavour of hot toboggan from the day before still strong in my mind… it just didn’t measure up. However, we all have to love some teas more than others. Still a good cuppa. Plus, it resteeps VERY well — always a plus!

After hearing rave reviews from many of my friends, I went in store to sample this tea and I fell in love! The smell alone is to die for, and it is great either straight or as a latte with agave. I wouldn’t mind if Movie Night had an extra handful or two of popcorn but nonetheless, I bought the tea for the caramelly/maple taste.

Ho-ly.

When I opened up my parcel from DavidsTea this is the first thing I could smell. Smells like a dream…and tastes like one too! I get a very buttery taste to it. Which makes me feel like I am drinking something more than just tea. Its also quite sweet just by itself. I suggest those of you who usually add a sweetener of some kind to try it with out it first. I wasnt too sure how long to steep it (the little box doesnt say) so I tried about 3 minutes first, it was good..but I wanted it stronger. So I probably went more towards the 5 minute mark.

Also, the box. The cute little popcorn box. Just love it.

I kind of really like this tea – it’s growing on me with each cup. It smells like delicious, sweet buttery popcorn and it tastes like it smells. I don’t really pick up on the maple so much as I do on appley-sweet (but that’s okay because I’m not a fan of maple…). Also, the green tea taste is mostly absent. Like everyone says it is a bit on the weak side, so I just steep it for 5-7 minutes.

This is great when I’m craving popcorn or as a nice dessert alternative from the usual chocolatey or rich flavoured dessert teas from David’s. Yumm!

WOW. This tea is CRAZY. I couldn’t resist picking up a bag of Movie Night after smelling it at David’s Tea. It smells EXACTLY like buttered popcorn. I wasn’t sure how the flavour would come out in terms of taste, but it had me at the smell.

Well the taste was just as good as the smell! It really does taste like buttered popcorn, with hints of sweet notes from the apple and maple. Yes, it sounds strange, and if you smell it, you’d probably think the same. But, it really does work as a tea! You get the guilt free taste of popcorn in the form of a delicious tea!

I definitely recommend this tea for those looking for something new and exciting to try. A worthwhile step away from the normal!

This was . . . interesting. It was more maple than caramel, and as with most of the new DTs, the smell is better than the taste. Steeped it for almost eight minutes and still tasted pretty weak. Not seeing this as a need-to-replace, but a cute gimmicky tea.

This is a very peculiar tea. It doesn’t taste like popcorn, not really. But it does have this slight buttery taste that is particularly odd and yet somehow delicious.
The taste is most reminiscent of eggo waffles with ‘syrup’.

Don’t let the peculiar taste descriptions put you off though, it is not at all overpowering. Overall it is just softly sweet, with a interesting back note.

Also, the green tea is almost undetectable, partially because there is very little of it in the mix (compared with the chunks of dried apple). Thus this is a good tea for individuals who like herbals, but who are looking to ease into flavored green teas.

I just upgraded this to a rainbow tin rather than the DT bag because it’s now becoming a staple. It smells like popcorn, tastes like apple with notes of buttery goodness, my taste buds can’t quite figure this one out but MAN I adore it! Only got 25g and will get 100 next time I hit the mall.
