mmmmmm… ok so Raritea found me a David’s Tea that i really like. This is better than the 52 teas honeybush that i tried earlier. This is especially delicious in contrast to the sweet vanilla orange that i recently had. I can see drinking this one over the summer for sure! Also this would be fantastic as a slushie. It’s the perfect blend of lemon, lime and a touch of creaminess.

mini sipdown, in that i finished the first 50g bag of this that i picked up, so i’m not officially on the last bag. I think that if david’s ever discontinues this, i’d be inclined to pick more up…though that being said, i likely wouldn’t know about it until after the fact lol. I like the tanginess of this tea. I probably should stick to cold brewing this, since they’s why i picked it up but today i just really wanted that lime flavour.

Oh man…cold brewed this the other night in the hopes of trying to find that ian likes cold brewed since in the summer time he tends to want to drink a ton of juice. This one was pretty well received so i think this may work until i can find another one that he enjoys. I’m still trying to decide if i like this better hot or cold…

I just had to see what all the fuss is about!

Yep. wow. it’s a good’un. Another one that tastes just like it smells. mm creamy and lime-y without being overly tart or sour! Reminds me of a lime jell-o dessert made with condensed milk. This is the creamy-taste that I imagine 52teas Cheesecake teas might have, but I dunno!

Much better than the Mom’s Apple Pie I had to dump out of my mug, lesson learned!

Sipdown!
Half of it is in the fridge at work, cooling down to be iced tea for me to take to the gym after work! Yummeh!

I’ve learned a lot from this tea.
1. Don’t skimp on leaf – you get the full experience and yummy taste explosion with 2 teaspoons!
2. Doesn’t resteep terribly well, but oh well, it’s still tasty!
3. it’s yummy!

  1. 3 being most important.

1.5 tablespoons for 375 ml

Strong creaminess throughout. Lime is in the background. Balanced sweetness. Apples and pineapple are very well blended and complement the taste profile very well. Sight smokiness of the sencha tea comes through.

This tea reminds me of Lime Jello Salad from 52 teas.

I’ve been on the hunt for a green lime tea to cold steep since I am down to my last pouch of 52teas Lime Jello Salad, and I don’t even have it with me right now, so this sounded like a reasonable facsimile.

I only purchased 20g, so I put 12g in a 2L jug but filled it up halfway since it didn’t look like a lot of dry leaf at all. Let it steep overnight and this morning the liquor is still quite pale in colour. It doesn’t have a ton of flavour, but from what I’m getting, the taste is reminiscent of Oikos lime Greek yogurt. I really like that yogurt, but it’s just weird to drink something that tastes like it.

I’ll use up the remaining 8g to brew a pot of hot tea.

I’m trying this hot now. Still too Oikos lime yogurty for me. It just may not be my cup of tea.

If I would have wanted to drink my yogurt, I would have bought Yop!

So I had this conversation with my mother an hour ago:

Me: So, um, Mom…just to warn you…I entered something for some free tea…and I’m in…so there should be various teas arriving over the next few weeks. BUT IT’S FREE.

[Emphasis on “various teas,” because I fully plan to claim that any and all teas I order for the next few weeks are part of the free thing. MUAH HA HA, a cunning plan.]

Mom: Okay, well…at least I know what we can do with those teas when they get here!

Me: (deeply startled) …What?!

Mom: We’ll take them to the store!

[My family just bought a wool/knitting store. Evidently there is complimentary tea, and my mother wants me to be in charge of that.]

Me: That’s…not how it works, Mom. I’m supposed to review them!

…Yeah. I’m thinking I need to focus on drinking up the teas that are downstairs a lot faster so my family will less resent the arrival of more. Also, so that it looks like my “tea boner” (as my sister calls it) is getting softer and not harder and leaking liquor everywhere.

Oh man, sorry for that last mental image. :P

With that in mind, I’m drinking up the last of this. I’m actually using up all the last I have of this, maybe about 2tsp, so quite generous leaf for me – something I will need to keep in mind in the future when I try it again. This is one that I botched in the pitcher. Such a shame, because it’s really good! I will have to put it off as a re-purchase, though.

I’m drinking it hot, and while it really seemed like one you should ice, it’s excellent hot. It’s got a fantastic creaminess to it – I absolutely love any kind of creamy flavour or texture in a tea. The lime is perfectly balanced, not at all too sour.

I can also taste the apples, but unlike in Tropicalia, they are not too far forward in the taste, more like a supporting player of the lime.

Looking forward to getting this again and trying it cold (and made properly this time). I was going to try and chill half of this cup, but honestly, I now just feel like finishing it. Some other day!

This is nummy. Thank you Krystaleyn for the sample! This may be my favorite DavidsTea thus far. I have put the second half of my cup in the fridge to try it cold and I am sure it is going to be awesome.

wow! I did not expect this tea to be SO yummy.
For the first brew, I tried it hot and it was supremely satisfying. The lime and gelato parts came out nice and balanced, which surprised me because some friends mentioned that they hated this tea after trying a sample in the store. (I should have known better- they always add too much sweetener and oversteep)
The green base was mild but appropriately so given it’s palate partners!
Second infusion wasn’t as great. a bit watery and worn(minus points) down but I’ll take it. Too much caffeine is bad for a girl anyhow.
aaaaaaaand for the first time ever, I am excited about trying a loose tea ICED! This one should be incredible. yay! :)

backlog!!!
I’d entirely forgotten about this… I finally managed to try this iced!
And yes, it was indeed quite yummy. It tastes even more like gelato this way :)
Of course, I still prefer it hot.
Now, do I want to repurchase this? Kindof. I only purchased a sample size. It is not an essential for me, but then I really really like this one. Only… I promised myself that until I make a sizable dent in my already enormous supply, I shan’t purchase any more tea :(

(Serious) backlog. I bought some of this last weekend, I think, on a whim. i am a pretty big fan of Davids Tea’s Lime Bang, and I was concerned this would be the same. Luckily, I was wrong. There is a disctinct creaminess to the tea, apparently frmo the yogurt pieces. The flavour was surprisingly accurate to lime gelato, though it could maybe have almost done with a hint more lime. This is one that I think I will re-buy, and am glad to have it. Will do a more detailed note another time…maybe at the time I drink it, for example. :)

EDIT: Soooo, I accidentally posted this as Lime Bang – I really meant Lime Gelato. Whatevs! : )

Oh, Lime Gelato, you flirty fool. Today you are lovely and rich with sweetened lime aroma and taste. I think you would make a lovely mixed drink, were I not at work. To be honest, it’s a bit sweet for my mood at the moment, but that could have been from too much ‘leaf’ or too long a steep. I’m really shying away from overly sweet teas at the moment and this is falling into that category, but I am sure that my preference will change again soon. A fault of the drinker, not of the tea!

This is actually really good. Usually I’m not a big fan of green teas in general, and this does still have a bit of the green tea flavour that I don’t like, mostly in the aftertaste, but the flavouring and whatever else is in it makes for a nice creamy lime treat. I used up the entire sample on one pot so I’m glad that it turned out well.

What a fantastic lime flavor. I like that it’s not too strong or too tart, and the yogurt bits give it this beautiful creamy taste and feel. I am enjoying it hot, but it is definitely getting better as it cools. Delicious tea, I am so glad I ordered this one.

EDIT: Just finished a jar of this that I left in my fridge from the second steep this morning. Gah, just as delicious cold. I will be doing that again.

I am enjoying a cup of this while waiting for dinner to cook. Busy, busy day, so I am putting some in the fridge to drink later.

Lime Gelato, you make my stressful days taste delicious.

I always forget to log teas that I drink cold. Having a jar of this while I lay on my couch, it’s one of my favorite fridge-teas. I can’t wait to drink this when it’s hot outside. Yum.

Oh, man. This tea is so creamy and tart and tastes like a super wonderful dessert.

I am having more new tea later on this evening, so I wanted to drink something familiar for a bit while I relax. Also, this is just totally delicious and I never get sick of lime anything.

Yum.

Mmmmmm.

I started my day with a hot cup of this, and put two more jars in the fridge to have cold. I am drinking one of those now, and it is quite amazing.

So I ordered a bit more of this tea, tonight. Delicious.

I received this as a sample in my last order. Well I needed a nice pick-me-up yesterday (yes I’m back logging) so I thought I’d give this a try. The smell was slightly tart and was so delicious! The flavor was full of creamy, lime goodness. The only complaint I had was that it left a bad aftertaste. I would definitely order this again :]

Lime Gelato from Davids Tea. Lime Gelato is a fruity green tea. When I opened the sample, I was immediately taken by the aroma. It smells just like key lime pie and the liquor stays true its fragrance. It follows through on taste. The lime is distinct but not tart and there is just a whisper of sweetness. This is a delicious, light refreshing tea and I can easily drink gallons of it. It tastes like a watered down lime sorbet. I imagine this tea would be amazing iced. Full tin worthy for sure!

silvermage2000

Thank you Kittenna for sending me some of this. I added some sugar. I believe I can taste the lime with some creamyness and some apple and mabe touchs of the the other ingredients and the green tea. This is pretty good. Not overly tart or anything. Thanks for letting me try this before buying a larger amount Kittenna.

I’m really tired today. It’s been kind of depressing. I totally needed an uplifting tea. Citrus always struck me as a cheery scent so I gave this a try. THe smell totally reminds me of chinese yogurt drinks. It’s also like Pink Berry, which I love. The lime is a really nice complement. I didn’t really like it hot, probably because of the slight tartness. I loved how it felt creamy though. I like it a lot better now that it’s cooled down.

The smell is great but the taste, not as great. It was alright, but I probably won’t buy any more.

I was saving this for over the summer, but I was feeling sad so I figured breaking into this was preferable to eating an entire thing of icecream.

So long story short, I didn’t get the co-op. This was not unexpected, as they were only taking four people from the entire everywhere, and I’m just a freshman, but they didn’t even wait the full month before rejecting me. So basically I was one of the first applicants they cut. I knew it was a long shot, but I didn’t realize it was THAT much of a longshot. Ah well. Keep your chin up, drown your sorrows out in tea, so on and so forth.

Anyways, this is really good. Just what I needed. It keeps getting better and better as it cools, so I’m cold steeping the left over leaves. I’m drinking it hot now, and it tastes just like warm gelato. Sweet and creamy. Delicious.

Sad sipdown. :,C

Finished off the last of this today. (So much for saving it for summer. XD) It’s just so gosh darned tasty. I particularly like this one cold steeped. In fact, I’m getting one last hoohah out of the last of these leaves as we speak. I love that I can brew a cup hot then just throw the left overs in the fridge. Its a creamy, wonderful, healthy concoction. Hot and iced.

This was great, definitely going on the reorder list.

Nothing like a little Lime Gelato to start off what promises to be a crazy Monday. Mmm does this ever smell yummy both dry and steeped.

The lovely lady who packaged up what seemed like a million samples at DavidsTea yesterday convinced me to try this one. Lime isn’t usually something I gravitate towards but I’m actually quite excited to try it :)

And success! Tastes just like it smells. Delish! ’m loving the yogurt taste with the apple. Definitely a treat tea for me but that warrants having it around all the time :) I may upgrade this one to my permanent collection.

Update: Ahh, even better when it’s slightly cooled!

My kettle has arrived!!

I decided to try Lime Gelato and Bamboozled together today. Since these are two of my very favourite David’s teas, I wanted to see how well they fared as one.

Okay so this is not too bad at all. I do think I prefer either tea on it’s own but this mix was refreshing in it’s own way. It does somewhat diminish the best of both teas, but not so much that it’s tasteless. I find the bamboo really comes through the most. Very interesting for sure :)

Ah lime gelato. My newest addiction in my permanent collection. Oh sorry addition to my permanent collection.
Seriously, I have got a love affair going on with this tea – and so unexpectedly! I am thrilled they talked me into this at DavidsTea. And they said it’s even better cold (Even better?! Is that even possible?)

It’s just amazing. Not too sweet, not too sour-limey. Perfection.

Oh my! I am learning to love flavoured green tea. And this one is delicious! Perfectly lime & cream to get that lime gelato taste. Lacking in the green tea flavour, but that is perfect for me. I am so pleased with this tea. It was a last minute decision to buy & I’m glad I did.

In the bag it smell of the tea reminds me a lot of Red Mango frozen yogurt. It doesn’t smell quite the same in the liquor, where the lime becomes more lime than something vaguely tarty with the yogurt before.

This seems like another one that would be better cold. That’s okay, since in the coming days it’s going to quit being cold anyway. Nothing like going from using your winter coat to not needing one in 48 hours…ugh.

Anyway, there is just something I don’t like about the taste upon first sip. Beyond that though it is so good, I love how it turns creamy and I get the lime flavor. I don’t know though what it is that I just don’t like. I can feel it in my nose when I take a sip and it’s just gross. It can’t possibly be the lemongrass because my favorite foods ever involve lemongrass…wahhh. I’ll let it cool off and taste it cold instead now.

ETA: it’s now lukewarm and it is so much better. Iced only it is then!

Made this then poured it over ice last night, then resteeped the leaves for a cold steeping. I’m drinking that second steeping and I really think this is the way to do it.

Before when I cold steeped this, I didn’t think the creamy yogurt flavor really came out. After the leaves were used hot, I think it helped out on the cold steeping. I taste everything in there. It was fine brewed hot then poured over ice but it’s even better tonight. I think if this makes it to the months where it should be warm, the bag I have won’t make it to summer!

I didn’t think this was going to work as a cold press iced tea. I thought that maybe the creaminess from the yogurt wouldn’t come through since the yogurt bits wouldn’t be melting.

Oh no was I wrong. Looks like an ideal way to make this tea.

Cool bonus tip: the Argo tea bottles that they sell their teas in at like Whole Foods make for awesome containers to do overnight cold steeping. Just make it in there and strain into a glass, perfect!

Oh sweet limey goodness. This was one of the first DT i tired. And fell in love. I like the the lime isn’t a overpowering sourness, its just perfect.
