From DAVIDsTEA

Give in to it

Ah, the pomegranate. In Greek mythology, Hades, god of the underworld, used pomegranate seeds to seduce Persephone, goddess of fertility. In Biblical circles, many think that Eve was actually tempted by a pomegranate, not an apple. What a fruit. We’ve used it to create a green tea that’s just as powerful. Sweetly tart, and seductive on every level. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Organic: green tea, black tea, green rooibos, rosehips, pomegranate arils. With natural flavouring*.

In attempt to rush out the door this morning, I pulled this out of my box of teas and rushed downstairs and brewed it up and out the door I went! You can definitely taste the green out of the green tea and the pomegranates just gave a huge kick to the flavour. It was a pretty interesting taste and I later tried it again cold. It’s nice, but not something I would call my favourite.

I was really excited to try this when I saw that there was pomegranate in this! I tried this as a cup to-go today. The smell was really appealing…fruity but also savoury. It was really well balanced and the flavours did not seem to be competing. The fruityness came out but also, allowed the base to shine through. I managed to get a double-brew out of this, not as strong as the first but still really good and definetely drinkable. I would definetely have this again!

Thanks for the sample, TassieTeaGirl! I almost made a flagrant oversteeping error with this—well, okay, I DID, but I tempered it by quickly running a second shorter steep and blending the two steeps. End result came out still good. PHEW. Nothing worse than ruining a green tea? I enjoyed this, it’s a nice green with just the right kinda hint of fruit. Looking forward to trying it iced soon (the other half’s in the fridge).

I wanted to like this tea – since I love green tea and I love pomegranates, but it is definitely a miss for me. I find the fruit taste tastes inauthentic and something about the tastes just do not blend together.

This one was a taste of something smelling better than it tasted. The smell is amazing, however the taste is only good. Pomegranate taste isn’t as strong as I would like, but it is still a good tea!

A bit surprised by this one. I could have sworn it had a citrusy taste to it as well!! Nonetheless, the tea is very relaxing. It has a very mild taste, and the pomegranate taste isn’t overpowering at all. All in all, that’s all I can really say about Green Seduction. Those who love green tea, and who aren’t looking for something terribly strong will want to a cup of this.

It was a good cup, but nothing I can really go out of my way to have.

Mmm. I think this might be the only straight green tea that I would be interested in buying more of. I got this as a sample in a package I ordered from David’s Tea. I was cooking up some vegetarian dumplings tonight and thought – wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a bit of green tea with my dumplings?! This was the only thing in the cupboard that wasn’t flavored or fancy, and I’m glad I finally got around to trying it. Great flavor, smooth and consistent. Just what I was hoping for!

Green Seduction is one of the teas I keep refilling. It was one of the first teas I tried from DAVIDsTEA, and I still drink it on a semi-regular basis.

First impressions – Smells juicy and sweet, but not overly so. Steeped, the pomegranate takes the backstage and allows the green tea to shine through.

Flavour – Very nice. The green tea is slightly bitter, so there is a perfect balance between it and the pomegranate’s tart sweetness. I really don’t taste the black tea in it, and wonder just how much of a purpose it serves…

Loveability – This is a tried and true tea. While I don’t go through it in record-breaking time, it will be part of my tea cupboard for many years more. This is a great tea to make in the teapot and to accompany studying. A definate keeper in my books!

I picked up this tea because I was looking for a fruity green tea, something which would taste delicious both hot and iced. I chose this one because I felt like the scent packed a lot of punch, sweet but a bit tart. Absolutely delicious to smell.

I first drank hot, as my morning tea. Once brewed, I found the taste to be less intense then the scent, which I think is a good thing, otherwise it may have been too overwhelming. The tea is not nearly as sweet as it smells. Instead, my cup had a very nice slightly bitter taste that was tempered with the sweetness and flavour of pomegranate.

Overall I really really enjoyed this tea. I am not a huge fan of overly fruity teas, I like the fruit to be a bit more subtle, and this one fits the bill perfectly.
