Green Seduction

Green Tea by DAVIDsTEA

Ah, the pomegranate. In Greek mythology, Hades, god of the underworld, used pomegranate seeds to seduce Persephone, goddess of fertility. In Biblical circles, many think that Eve was actually tempted by a pomegranate, not an apple. What a fruit. We’ve used it to create a green tea that’s just as powerful. Sweetly tart, and full of antioxidants. Seductive on every level.

Part of my first gift of David’s Tea. Surprised me, since I am not usually fond of strongly flavoured teas. But this flavoured green was very fresh-tasting, slight fruity sweet, but not overwhelming, it still tasted of green tea. This is what prompted me to try other flavoured teas from David’s Tea.

From the smell of this tea dry, you’d expect something herbel with a fruity overpowering pomegranate flavour. However, this tea delivered a solid, full-bodied flavour. There was a solid and consistent pomegranate overtone that really drove the experience home.

I followed the directions to steep at 80 degrees for 3 minutes; it felt a little weak, so I may try steeping longer or possibly adding more tea leaves next time.

Interesting mix…a bit of green tea, black tea and rooibos. Not much fruity flavour in my mix. I brewed it as a green tea to be safe, but am getting a slightly bitter taste; not something I would add to my cupboard.

One of the tiny sweet indulgences set tins.
Smells super fruity, sort of reminds me of raspberries, even though I know this is a pomegranate flavor tea. That pomegranate aroma comes out a lot more once it’s steeped, and it tastes like sweet pomegranate seeds. For some reason I’m getting a hint of chocolate as an aftertaste, which might be the result of mixing the black and green teas in this blend. It’s an interesting tea, and pretty good, but not super exciting.

Tasty but unremarkable. It tastes like a slightly fancier version of my current boxed green tea. Nice and light but probably won’t rebuy.

This stuff smells really pretty. It actually reminds me a little of the palais de the the du hamman. Not as potent, but pretty like it. It has a floral and exotic fruit bouquet. _ Tastes smooth, and smells lovely.

Received as a sampler packet from an online order with Davids. One and a half teaspoons of very fruity smelling tea steeped for 4 minutes. The aroma that enveloped the area by the stove as I steeped was lovely, pale hints of the pomegranate teasing me towards the cup. Highly unusual for me as I tend to find a lot of pomegranate flavors overbearing and unfavorable.

The tea itself is not as colorful in the palette as the nose suggests – The pomegranate is subdued and very pleasant. The mixture of black and green teas offers a medium bodied liquor base, which fills in some of the blanks but is perhaps too hefty for the lightness expected. Grew a little bitter as the tea cooled.

It’s an interesting middle ground attempted here, but I feel it may have been better suited either going more in the fruity direction and staying with the green tea rather than both green and black mixed.

Another green tea favourite. I usually stick to green tea- although recently I have been expanding my horizons- and this is one of my faves.

I think that I oversteeped this one or something… I found it to be bitter. I set up my tea timer and everything, but maybe something was still off… I steeped for 3:30, but maybe I should only do 3 mins.
Smell was very grassy…
Taste was bitter. It overwhelmed to the point where I couldn’t really notice the other flavours at all. I’m going to try it again… but I wasn’t happy so far… :(
I’ll try again soon.

I tried this as yesterday’s “Tea of the day.” I am not sure that those samples provide a fair test of a tea’s character, but I’ll give this one a rating anyway as I don’t plan to have any more.

I love green tea. Green was the tea that started my wacky tea obsession (I’m looking at you genmaicha). Sadly, I have no love for Green Seduction. I had been meaning to try this one for some time and when I saw it as the “Tea of the day,” I jumped at the opportunity. It has a prominent green tea flavor, with a slightly tart and fruity aftertaste. I think tart + green tea = me :(.

I first tried this tea hot over the winter and I wasn’t really feeling it. The dominant flavor here is definitely a blend of jasmine and pomegranate but as it cools it tastes more like a green tea with a kick. I really didn’t think I’d care for it enough to try it again but I was feeling daring yesterday and brewed this to make an iced tea.
Um… can I just say ‘yum’? This was so good iced! I’ll try cold brewing this one next time to see how it fares but I absolutely adore this one iced. I thought it was slightly too tart for me so a re-steep may be in order here.

The taste of this green tea reminds me so much of straight black tea, assam tea in particular.

The combination of the earthly green tea and lightly fruity raspberries and pomegranate make a darkly sweet brew.

I really like this tea, it is strong enough without being sickeningly imperial green, and the light fruitiness is enough to not require any sweetener.

its good…but thats about it. it tasts exactly how it smells and for me its a little boring. I think ive been drinking to much butterfly jasmine. overall its a good afternoon drink if your in the mood for pomegranate.

I tried this one at the store today. I think I tried it a while back too, but it wasn’t fresh in my mind. For a green tea though, this one was pretty good. It wasn’t as bitter as I usually find most green tea based ones, probably because of the pomegranate undertones, which raise the bar for it considerably. Good job DavidsTea, good job.

This is a nice naturally sweet tea to start the day with.

This green tea is more green than fruity and is lovely to have with food. Once the tea cools off a bit you pick up the pomegranate.

One of my friends recommended that I try this.
On my first cup of it I think I got more green tea than the fruity aspect. I may have also had the water a bit too hot as the tea had a very bitter kick, I always forget how picky I am with my green tea. But I think when I try it again I will be careful with the water temperature. The tea has promise I just know it :)

Green tea, pomegranate, and raspberry… Delicious!! I love this tea with all my heart and plan on trying it iced very very soon! The raspberry does not over power the taste of the green tea and that is what makes it an absolutely perfect blend in my opinion!

I drink this tea every morning… and sometimes in the afternoon too. It completes me.
