From DAVIDsTEA

Game on

This tea isn’t like a chess game of black versus white, it’s black and white working together. When you mix white Bai Mu Dan with black tea, coconut and chamomile flowers, it creates a rich, satisfying, chocolate flavour. You’ll swear you’re drinking a cup of hot cocoa, even though there’s no chocolate in the blend. It’s so delicious it’ll hold any king or queen in check – now that’s a winning move any way you look at it.

One of my favourite teas I’ve refilled my tin a few times. I dunno what to tell you, but this is a tea where you can’t go wrong. Regardless if you steep it for 4 min or 4 hours. It’s one of those kinda teas that just gets stronger and richer the longer you let it steep. I highly recommend it to anyone to try at least once. It’s honestly one of my favourites

#17. Quite a sweet tea but didn’t seem very complex to me. It was enjoyable to drink but not very memorable.

I don’t usually like chocolate flavoured teas, but this is quite good, even though I accidentally oversteeped with water that’s under the recommended temperature. My bad

Initial impressions- Opening the tin the scent of coconut is immediately evident. I also see yellow-white chamomile flowers and pieces of coconut among the small black tea leaves and broader white tea leaves. Love love the smell of this tea.
How I brewed it- 1.5 teaspoons in 94 degree water for five minutes. Quarter teaspoon of agave nectar mixed in.
First sips- For something with black tea it is very mellow and light. I attribute this to the white tea in there. I get a mixture of coconut and chocolate sensations on the initial sip, with an aftertaste of mellow coconut. This is a very nice, mellow tea and I would definitely buy it again.
Addendum- made a second cup later on a whim with steamed milk and it is fantastic as a tea latte.

When I read the description initially I thought this tea wouldn’t be that interesting, but I am pleasantly surprised. There’s an interesting fusion here, that i’m still trying to pin down, but the notes of coconut remind of some Pina Colada concoction I’ve never tasted. I’m not sure I taste the chocolate but there’s definitely a sweet or caramel like effect that lingers with the coconut as after taste. I think I’ve found my new winter tea. I could definitely see myself drinking this on a cold snowy day, or by the fire lost in a good book. I’m really happy I decided to give this one a try.

This tea is so-so. What drew me to this in the first place was the intrigue of tasting chocolate in a non-chocolate based tea. I steeped it according to the instructions and after tasting it a few times, it tastes nothing like chocolate. All I taste is coconut. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing, but eh. I’m not a fan of coconut tastes in general. I drank this unsweetened and no milk. It’s good, and it still tastes good after multiple steepings but I’m glad I got a 25g pouch of this because I don’t think I COULD finish a 50g, let’s say.

I’ll admit that I tried this because I’m a chess fan, but hey, I usually succumb to David’s Teas because I really appreciate the unique marketing anyway.

This smells SO good unbrewed, that I guess its not such a surprise it doesn’t taste quite as delicious brewed. But I really enjoy it anyway, I’ve been drinking it all afternoon at work this week. I’m a sucker for coconut too. Solid, smooth tea.

I’m drinking this right now – I purchased 30 grams when it first came out and still am plugging away at it. The tea leaves are light and a small amount goes a long way by weight. I plan to get a tin of it, but I still need to finish off the 30 grams! 100g grams might be too much of this tea.

It totally smells like chocolate, but isn’t chocolate, with a nice smooth, earthy and coconut taste. It’s like drinking chocolate and it messes with your brain.

I love this tea in my Libre travel mug as it looks beautiful steeped with the white flowers and chunks of white coconut with black tea leaves.
