From DAVIDsTEA

Panda-monium

Lately bamboo seems to be popping up everywhere, from the runways to the kitchen. No wonder – it’s sustainable and fast-growing. Plus pandas love it. But that’s not all. According to Ayurvedic belief, bamboo has cooling properties, and drinking a bamboo infusion can release heat from the body. What could be better on a hot summer day? Especially when it’s topped up with the juicy flavours of pineapple and peach. Add it all up and you’ve got a summer drink any panda would love.

Ingredients: Pineapple, bamboo leaves, peach, apple, peach crunchy, peony petals, rose buds, artificial flavouring*.

Price: $7.50 per 50g

This is my first bamboo tea. It’s very light, I didn’t taste much of the fruit flavoring. I didn’t get much of flavor of anything. If I had to compare it to anything, green rooibos. I drank it iced, it’s just way too mild and light for my taste.

Had this warm and was like “OoooooOOOOooooh! Yummy!” Then I had it iced and thought it tasted like banana. Hm, how strange. But still yummy! This tea is fun and simple.

Iced=amazing. This tea was my go-to in the summer on those hot days. I’d steep it in the morning and then leave it in the fridge until I got off work, then I’d take it with me to school. It’s just the perfect iced tea, so light and fresh!

Huh.

This is WAY better cold steeped or iced.

I’ve been ruined!

(Still yummy warm.)

So tasty cold. I love mixing it with pineapple juice too. :)

Ooh hot tip! I’ve got just enough left to experiment with that :D

Picked this up along with the Strawberry Rhubard Parfait while I was on the hunt for a nice tisane. I didn’t like this one either. One of my less successful experiments as both samples of tea I picked up I didn’t like.

Pineapple right off the get go big time. Really quite overwhelming. And sweet. Too sweet for my liking. And it has a weird aftertaste. I don’t think I would even like it iced.

Good news is that I gave this and the Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait to my 7 year old niece and she seemed to like it. Tastes like candy so I can see why.

The aroma was faint but had a very sweet fruity smell with a hint of a burnt sugar as well. The body was about medium, quite light but left some feeling on your tongue. The fruit notes in the tea were shockingly faint, giving way to what I’m assuming is bamboo because I couldn’t quite place it. It also gives way to a sort of creamy, milky taste and texture.

I am confused how “Bamboozled” translates to “Aloha Ananas” in french. I really don’t understand. Please explain if you know.

So yes, it does taste like pineapple, as its name states; not the strongest I’ve ever tasted but it is there. My neighbor is sitting next to me and steeling my tea, but she keeps complaining that it has no flavor! So I must admit, it barely has any flavor, relative to other teas I’ve tasted, and it is such a light pineapple flavor; you really have to pay attention to it in order to taste it!

Sorry about being brutally honest, but there really is no other flavor in this tea that I can taste. If you like fruity teas (or specifically pineapple teas) that are not overwhelming or “busy” then this is the tea for you!

I bought a bit of this tea to try iced and am I ever glad I did! It is not what I was quite expecting, but really refreshing! The fragrance of the tea had me very concerned, as did the promised bamboo, but, cold steeped, I found the tea itself to be a nice delicate fruity blend. The peach really shone through, and I do absolutely adore peach! I can see myself drinking this many more times!

One of my favourite teas that DAVIDsTEA has provided us.
Originally bought last Winter due to the interesting presence of bamboo in the ingredients I found myself consistently filling back up on Bamboozled whenever I run out.
It makes a nice steaming fruity drink in the Winter going into Spring, but where it truly shines is in iced tea season.
When iced the pineapple shines forth and makes such a nice chiller for lounging about in the sun.
A masterpiece in my eyes.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had this one as I got out of herbals for a while there. But now that I’m on a diet that restricts my caffeine, my love hate relationship with herbals is back on.

I made this the other night with the purpose of having it iced, as I find it much better that way. The smell of it is weird to me, very peachy and fruity, but also like rotting fruit a bit. The taste was exactly how I remembered it, mostly peach and a little bit of pineapple. But there’s something extra in this tea that I can’t put my finger on. It must be the bamboo. I’ve never had bamboo tea on it’s own so I’m not sure how it tastes, but I like it, it’s very refreshing. Having this tea iced is just like having a glass of peach juice but without the calories and sugar.
