Matcha Drink Mix

Matcha Tea by DAVIDsTEA

This delicious blend of stone-ground matcha and cane sugar is the easiest, most convenient way to make your favourite green tea drinks. It’s already sweetened, so all you need to do is decide what you want to make. You can blend it with milk and ice for an amazing smoothie, steam it with soy milk for a latte, or add a spoonful to your next milkshake for a real treat. Looks like you’ve got some seriously tasty experimenting to do.

Ingredients: Cane sugar, Matcha, Pectin

I’m trying to use up some of the teas in my cupboard, and this is one of the matcha mixes on my list. I decided to make it as a latte, and add some pumpkin spice to it!

The matcha isn’t bad at all, although it’s too sweet for my liking now. I use 1 tbsp of the mix in a 16oz mug, which is a pretty good ratio for me. To this I added two “smidgen” measuring spoons of pumpkin pie spice, and used half water half almond milk for the liquid.

All in all, not a bad drink! The matcha is a bit green tasting, which gives a bit of an unusual flavour, but it works quite well with the spices.

Had the last of my package today. In comparison to my unsweetened-matcha-with-1/2-tsp-sugar, this was REALLY sweet. Because of that, I probably wouldn’t buy it again. However, if you’re just getting into matcha and like the Sbux green tea latte, this is a good introduction to making them at home.

I’m a little ambivalent about this one. I love the matcha, it makes great drinks and smoothies, but I find that it’s not as strong as the other matchas that David’s has. As a result, I had to add a LOT to get the desired strength of matcha flavor I prefer. Also, I like to be able to control the sweetness myself. All in all though, it’s pretty tasty.

I use this when I’m craving the flavor of matcha but want a little sweetness without adding more sugar/agave. This goes very well added to shakes or to milk.

Really nice! I’ve been making iced matcha drinks with this one lately.
