Cocomint Cream

Herbal Tea by DAVIDsTEA

Cream of the crop
Coconut and mint might not be a familiar combo, but trust us. It’s seriously addictive. As soon as you open your first tin and experience its fresh, sweet-mint aroma, you’ll understand. It’s the kind of tea you always want to have within arm’s reach. It makes a sweet little afternoon pick-me-up. Or a perfect finale to any meal. Or a midnight snack that won’t keep you up all night. Refreshing, creamy, sweet and comforting, it’s everything a tea ought to be.

Ingredients: Apple, coconut, peppermint, blackberry leaves.

Minty Goodness!

Cocomint was the second herbal infusion I tried from Davids and I most certainly do enjoy it. I enjoy mint tea’s to begin with but the addition of coconut, apple and blackberry just make this one delightful tea.

Dry the leaves a large and a wide variety of colours, it has an evident aroma of mint; however not your typical overpowering spearmint, but a much softer mint aroma, probably the cream aspect of it, think light mint chocolate smell. While steeping the tea not much changes, the aroma is very minty but certainly not overpowering, which is common I find with mint.

The final brew is like a cup full of dessert, I add in a teaspoon of sugar and a dash of milk to this one to really bring out the flavor, good thing it doesn’t carry the calories of a dessert or I could have a problem!

Flash back:
This tea takes me back to when I was a kid visiting my grandparents in their apartment. It’s one of the very few memories I have of them… My grandmother would always have chocolate covered coconut… Something very similar to bounty bars but a bit smaller, in a long black box… Just a row of chocolate after chocolate. She would bring them out of a cupboard in the kitchen and we’d (my bro and I) grab one or two, then run into the living room and play while we enjoyed them.
They didn’t have the mint flavour to them, but this tea is the first time that the coconut flavouring has transported me back to that memory. I wish I had had more time with my grandparents. They were much older. Gpa was 94 when he passed away, I was 11… Gma passed away a few years after that.

But, onto the tea: OH MY! This one is amazing! I totally understand why everyone has been talking it up so much. I was worried the coconut might not be very strong in it, but it is perfect. You get the mint flavour first, then after the coconut comes in and it’s just… perfect. I’ve been wanting a tea that the coconut was more predominant.

Anyway, LOVE this tea. I hope it’s permanent. I want to always be able to get it.

Mmmmm yummy! I’m not a huge mint fan, but I do love coconut, the coconut adds a rich creaminess to this tea! It reminds me of those pastel mints that you can get around christmas time! I only got 25g of this tea to start, but I will be ordering more very soon!

After walking to David’s Tea and back in a light drizzle, I was very excited to try this tea, which was recommended by one of the women in the store. It’s the only one I bought from the Winter collection. It was delicious!! A perfect combo of mint with creamy sweetness from the coconut and apple. A perfect evening drink to enjoy on a cold, rainy night!

So Maybe. Just maybe. I do like Coconut. Because every tea with coconut in it I enjoy.

Anyways.

I just got this with my tea that I ordered from Davids. I think that I have had it before but I never wrote about it. This tea is wonderful. Just straight off the back. It has a very strong minty taste. If that is what you enjoy. Personally there is nothing better then having a strong mint tea. But this one just takes the cake. The mint in this tea is hardy and it is bold. It will demand your attention and make you pay attention to it, but that isn’t the cherry of the tea.

The best part is the subtle hint of the coconut. When I say subtle I mean subtle like a marching band. WHile the mint might be strong the true flavor comes out with the taste of the coconut. IT alters the taste the tea to make you literally look at your cup and say wow. You will want to sip slower and fully embrace the rich flavor of the tea and stick your nose in your cup to smell the flavor.

I have said that I don’t like coconut. But I think these teas are slowly changing my mind to this fruit. Anyways Happy Drinking!

This is a great smelling tea. The mint and the coconut really go together, and the other fruity notes surprisingly complement it. It’s not as sugary as I would imagine… for some reason the smell reminds me of a boozy pina colada. Which I really like ! ^_~ I think it’s probably better warm rather than cold… but that’s just my opinion.

This one was a no-go for me…I found it too creamy and with the mint it made me sick to my stomach :&. I might finish the package but will not go to get more. This one was dissapointing as I did like the smell and was excited to try it.

Today I wasn’t feeling great so I wanted a mint tea… mint always makes me feel better. The dried leaves smell like mint, which I expected. I don’t smell any coconut.

First sip… yum! It tastes like mint with a subtle coconut flavor in the background. I really like this. It is mint tea but with more complexity. I am going to steep it again, I read that the second steep might actually be better than the first.

Delicious. I enjoy a simple mint tea but this one has a lovely creaminess to it, and the coconut really blossoms the longer you let it steep. Recommend!

I think I let’er steep a little long this time, got some sour notes in there. Will have to watch that for next time!

I LOVE this tea! A perfect sweet and creamy blend of coconut and mint, with just a hint of fruitiness from the apple and blackberry leaves. It makes me think of a coconutty version of Razmintazz from Tealish (http://www.tealish.com/product-p/razmin.htm), one of my favourite mint teas.

Yum yum yum! What a bloody pleasant surprise! It’s been quite a while since DT has satisfied me with a new tea…

Aroma Creamy coconut, a heady waft of deliciousness
Flavour Decadent, smooth and wonderful. Mint done luxuriously…
Drinkability I have already taken to this tea like deer to an apple tree.

It had a bit too much coconut for my taste.

Tonight it tastes like coconut macaroons with a hint of mint. Very smooth!

I received this as a sample packet today, and yeah, it’s pretty darn good. It’s basically smells like a coconut tea with an undertone of mint, but tastes like the opposite. I find mint tea to be a little bland and ordinary, though. I like DAVIDStea because of the flavours I’ve never tried before; they really give a boost to the tea routine in my house. I’m not sure if I would buy this one just for the reasons I’ve mentioned, but if you really like your mint tea, and you want to spice it up, add some coconut :)

This tea is refreshing and relaxing all at once. The coconut and mint surprisingly go pretty well together and create a light tea. One thing I found was that sometimes the coconut and mint seemed very separate tastes, but most of the time it’s a nice combination. I would buy this again, but not much. The relaxing/refreshing feeling is nice, but I like to have the teas at different times, so it makes it hard to find a time when I want to drink this!

Not my favorite but I will have no prob finishing my 20g sample. I enjoy the flavor but maybe wish for a stronger taste of the mint.

A perfect balance of creamy and minty. I added milk but I suspect I would like it just as much without
