Yay! Picked up the spring collection except for copabanana and daydreamer, and i got a few other teas as well, such as this one. The smell was soooo good i splurged on 50 g without even trying the tea lol. It smells like lemon meringue pie and coconut cream pie combined to me :D

I’m trying to go easy on caffeine as it’s the day before my midterm (again) so I decided to try this one. The steeped smell is very good, I get a bit of the ginger with the lemony coconut. I steeped for 4 mins at 185 degrees.

Now this is a coconut tea i quite like. Cocomint cream was too heavy and sugared for me, but this is awesome! The citrus and ginger balance the coconut perfectly with tangy and sweet. The blend is not as strong in ginger, but that could be because there weren’t many pieces in the spoonful. I’m not sure where the white tea flavor is, but I think it’s providing a nice base for these flavors. I might try steeping the full 5 minutes next time to bring out the ginger a bit more. This is sweet yet refreshing. I also can’t eat much thai food due to the prevalence of peanuts in it, so this is a nice flavor and it seems like I’m having something thai – related! Yay I like this tea :)

ETA – this tea is a bit heavy once it cools, i think it’s more that I find coconut so sweet and rich that I can’t have it too often. This is still delicious, but I will drink in moderation. Oh, and i bet this is unreal iced. Will definitely have to try it hehe.

I love this one too! I like all the new flavors, but this and coconut oolong are my favs I think. Honeydew Mate is amazing iced as well.

I’m so excited to try them! Haha I quite enjoy coconut as long as it’s fairly light :) I want it to be summer so it is actually warm enough to make iced tea and not be too cold drinking it lol :D

Yep…. broke my tea buying ban for this and a couple other new ones from DT yesterday (although they were sold out of Pom Tango…. noooooo!)

I have been dying to try this one ever since it was released. Coconutty? Thai? YES!

And it doesn’t disappoint! I will admit that I think I overleafed, and am getting some bitterness as a result, but oh the flavours in here are divine! This has gotta be amazing iced, and possibly with some milk and sweetener. I can taste delicious lemongrass (it works really well here), enough coconut, and kind of a yogurt creaminess. This is really good, minus the overleafing bitterness. I hate that I’m kind of falling in love with this! I think I have enough for another 2 cups or so, so I should be able to make up my mind before then.

The only downside? This is supposedly a white tea blend… I didn’t check the price when I bought my sample, but it’s therefore probably way overpriced. But if I do love it, I will still buy it… sigh…!

ETA: Ginger! There we go! I knew there was something else in there but couldn’t come up with it myself. That explains the pepperiness and the fruitiness. Yum.

ETA again: Oops, neglected the steeping time on the second cup, however it’s pretty tasty. Not as good though; much more lemon (lemongrass?) than anything else. My roommate and I were contemplating making Coco Lemon Thai-infused meringues if we could figure out how to… just sounds like a yummy combo (probably because this tea is reminiscent of lemon meringue pie/coconut cream pie, as someone mentioned).

I tried to wait until Wednesday but I went to meet my roommate at the shopping center and this just happened to be in arms reach. I like all the listed ingredients for this tea and caved in to buying a tiny sample. Willpower is at the level of a small child in a candy theme park. I also bought more Purdy’s chocolate. It was that kind of day.

The blend smells a bit like lemon meringue, although I get a nice whiff of ginger and sweetened coconut. It also reminds me a bit of Cocomint but there are no apples in here, thankfully. The aroma becomes spiced, in a gingery lemon way, when hot water is poured over it.

This one tastes like it smells except that the ginger doesn’t actually zap. I wish it zapped. It’s a very tangy, yet sweet, lemon-ginger flavour with highlights of coconut blended throughout. It’s sweet, sour, and (softly) spicy near the finish, while also being slightly creamier than it is watery. Citrus is what really stands out, with coconut that is sticky sweet like the flakes you use to bake with. I’d say there’s also potentially a floral note to it as well.

This tasted good after the bowl of pho and durian shake I had for dinner.

I picked this up and the spring collection today…just 15g of each, but this smells amazing. Like the lemon creme filling in cookies, or lemon icing on cookies. Can’t wait to try it.

Went to DAVIDs today to pick up some tea for some of you lovely Steepsters for gifts/swaps, and the gal behind the counter offered me a free cuppa tea when I was done. Well, thank you, I think I will!

She steeped it at a lower temperature than normal she said, so that the “caffeine stayed in the leaves more”. Wow. Really? I need to learn more about my teas I think, if this is the case with whites and greens.

Zero sugar or cream/milk, yet this was a buttery, lovely cup. The staffer suggested I grab some later to use while making rice (steep the water in the tea, then make rice with it for a Thai meal) and… oh my goodness YES I want to do this. I love Thai food. I make it as often as I have the ingredients on hand, although doing so now makes it tricky since I wrote off all grains. Lucky me though, my SPUD box comes tomorrow, and in it will be a boatload of spaghetti squash for exactly this reason.

Anyway. It’s a lovely Thai-inspired tea with notes of lemongrass, coconut and cream. Very light on the tea, very buttery and creamy, and quite the treat while on my shopping spree today.

Heh. It’s basically kettle that both boils the water to whatever temperature you set it to, and then steeps your tea for you in the basket (it actually moves the steeper up and down during the steep time). Then, it beeps when done. It’s also programmable to set for the morning so your tea is ready when you get up, although I have yet to use that feature. It’s pricey, and so worth it. I hear the Cuisinarts are amazing too!

Thai is so easy to make really, it’s just having the ingredients on hand.

I have Thai takeout and DVD date night planned for tonight (cannot begin to tell you how psyched I am to spend a lazy night in right now), so I decided to cold-brew some of this to have with dinner. It’s in the fridge now, and I shall update after trying it!

But of course I’m impatient; so as I was prepping the cold brew, I decided to make a hot cup for myself to enjoy right away. It was yummy – subtly spicy and tart from the ginger and lemongrass with a very creamy sweetness from the coconut. The base white tea makes the end result a very light, refreshing cup of creamy coconut goodness. Can’t wait to see how the cold brew turns out!

Got a to go cup with milk and agave. Love it WAY more than Exotica, but Exotica will probably be cheaper so I’ll stick with it for iced tea.

That said, I will stock up if I ever get my T4 and get some tax (aka tea) monies. Love the citrus top note, very tropical meets thai!

I went in and got a wee amount of this one today as I was at the bank near Davids, but I cannot WAIT for Wednesday to go in and try all the new spring teas :)

The dry leaf smells like key lime pie to me. I was like yum when I opened the bag. I steeped for just a few minutes because Davids whites get bitter super quick. The liquid is a nice light gold colour. I did a little bit cold and a cup hot.

Taste: It tastes Thai that’s for sure. The coconut makes it thai for me, otherwise it would just be a lemon ginger tea. The predominate flavor is lemon, with a bite of ginger, and creamy sweetness lingering in the background. I also think it tastes/smells kinda limey but I don’t know if there is any lime in there.

If you like lemon teas, and if you like thai food, you will love this tea. It would go really well with an Asian themed meal.

Dry Leaf Nose: Well balanced notes of citrus, sweet ginger and coconut.

Liquor: Pale champagne colour. Clear with a mild sweet ginger and citrus note.

Flavour: Delicate with the citrus notes in front, followed very closely by the sweet ginger and coconut.

Oh this is a delight! The first few sips threw me off because I didn’t know what to expect, but once I got used to the lemon and ginger, I REALLY got into this tea. It makes me want Thai for dinner. :| I’m currently looking at menus and seeing if this is a thing I should do.

But back to the tea – it’s very soft and creamy, yet zingy too. I can taste the lemon and ginger and it all just melds together into something more than the ingredients alone would suggest. I’m happy I grabbed a little bag of this, even though it’s somewhat pricey.

Update: I DID order thai just because of this tea, and as an excuse to drink an entire pot over dinner. :D I’m a little sick of this now though – that was A LOT for one day. I’ve got enough for one cup for another day – I’m sure I’ll enjoy it then.

Another white tea I enjoy.
This is creamy lemon mostly with slight hints of coconut and ginger.
The white tea notes are present, but only slightly in the background.
Resteep at 5 minutes

This is best as an iced tea for sure! The creaminess and the coconut are a little more pronounced.
