I got this one for my husband who was looking for a refreshing tea that was low-caffeine for those late night brews. He really enjoys it and I think its pretty good. There is a certain amount of astringency from the citrus and juniper, but I think that adds to the flavor. The flavlor is complex and if you enjoy tangy teas then you would probably really like this one.

Day 10, everyone! Somewhere between today and tomorrow, we reach the official 1% mark! Isn’t it wonderful? I hope the rest of the 99% is just as fun and delicious as this first bit has been. :)

That being said, today was a bit of an icky day. Thankfully, once again, the tea elves have managed to anticipate my needs and given me a nice low-caffeine, medicinal-ish tea to soothe all my problems and pains away.

Seriously. I don’t know how they do it, but I’m glad that as of yet the tea selections (in my advent calendar and not at all chosen daily by me) have been able to suit my needs perfectly. Thank you tea elves, whoever and wherever you are.

Steeped: 1.5tsp in tea ball. Brewed with freshly boiled water.

First Cup: Steeped 4 minutes. Clear.
The lemongrass and ginger are what hit me the most. The overall flavour is mild, refreshing, earthy/grassy/herb-y. It somewhat relaxes me to drink it.

Second cup: Resteep. Steeped 5 minutes. Clear.
It’s odd. Anything with lemongrass tends to give me this herbal medicinal feel, but that doesn’t make it seem… uninviting to me. The spiciness from the ginger is a little less, but there is some nice sweetness along with the herb-y and lemon-y flavours, and just a hint of bite. It’s quite nice, really, even if it is still a bit medicinal.

Third cup: Re-resteep. Steeped aprpox 5 minutes. Clear.
This cup holds up to resteeps a lot better than some of the other teas I’ve had so far. This is the third steep, and the flavour qas still quite strong, rather than being barely there but still drinkable. Still rather herb-y, and still easiest to pick out the lemongrass. Quite enjoyable.

Overall impression: This tea really does live up to its name of “detox”, at least in feel. Something about the herbal nature of the mix just seems… detoxifying to me. While I haven’t had a full meal that I need digestive help with as the tea suggests it’s best for (quite the opposite actually, I’ve hardly eaten today due to some stomach problems), it feels nice and soothing, and makes me feel like

My rating: 85. A. I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did, but it just seems all… natural and… right. I’m not sure how else to put it.
Although I’m rating it high, I’m not sure if it’s something I’d stock a lot of, but it’s certainly something I’d consider keeping around. This is the kind of tea that, while I wouldn’t go for as an indulgence, would definitely be great for when things aren’t all quite right, and I want something to help calm me down. Particularly if paired with some soothing music and ocean sounds…..

#10. I wasn’t expecting much but it’s actually quite good. I was a little concerned when it said it was a green tea but wanted to be steeped at 208F, I was expecting that to get bitter. The juniper berry smell also put me off but it’s growing on me now.

At first I was nervous to drink this tea given that the scent reminded me ever so slightly of Gail’s Organic Cold Remedy, but I had to give it a shot since it came from my calendar and it would just be a shame to forgo one. (Sometimes the thought of getting a new tea is the motivation I need to haul my butt out of bed right now.)

Imagine my pleasant surprise then, when I find that this tea tastes pretty well nothing like the cold remedy. It’s still not, in my opinion, the most delicious tea I’ve ever had, but frankly it could have been a lot worse. I’m glad to say that the lemon grass does not over power this tea which is making for a much more enjoyable drink.

Worst tea i’ve ever bought. At first i kinda liked the smell but after a few days, i thought it smelt horrible. For some reason, it gave me a head ache. i made some as an ice tea and it wasn’t that good. I found someone who liked the tea, so i gave it to them. I know im not gonna buy it again :) I really love DAVIDs TEA and i have many teas i love from there, but this one is at the bottom of the list.

I personally love the taste of this tea… though it may not have always been this way. I find its quite an acquired taste and after about 4 or more cups of sipping this tea thinking “It’ll clear my system and make me feel brand new” I find it doesn’t taste like medicine anymore. I drink this about 4 times a week and need it now more then ever since yesterday was Saint Patrick’s Day and I may have indulged in certain beverages that need to be cleared from my system. I enjoy this beneficial tea!

Yawn. Yet another tea from David’s with similar ingredients that has a similar flavour. I like lemongrass, I do. I just really wish that there were fewer teas that tasted like it.

This tea wasn’t half bad, but I thought it tasted more like herbal tea than actual tea. I didn’t hate it, I didn’t LOVE it, maybe I got something wrong while steeping it, I don’t know. It’s true that I tasted this one two days after New Years party. Maybe next time I’ll drink it while still hungover see if I like it better.

For a green tea, I thought that it was pretty good. After a weekend at the in-laws and a lot of eating, this tasted really good. Not too sweet, but a little hint of sweetness.
I find it similar to The Skinny and I guess it serves similar purposes.
It isn’t something that I would drink everyday, but something I might keep on hand for those hang-over (from food or drink!) days.

Day 6 of my Advent Calendar.

Yet another tea I’ve been meaning to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

I like it, i can definitely see myself reaching for this after a night of partying.

might go to the store and pick up 25g to have for new years day!

flavour-wise, i wouldn’t drink this tea on a daily basis, but one of those teas i keep around for the benefits. tastes truly medicinal, but that’s alright with me right now.
mixed with some Ginger & Ginseng from Silk Road, it’s more tolerable.
overall pretty excellent for making me feel better!

The only thing I really have to say about this one is “nyeh”. It’s tea. It’s one of those things that, yeah maybe it’s good for you, but I’m not fussy about it. Nor do I not like it. I got this in my advent calendar, and there’s enough for two servings in each container. So I’ll try it again on a day when I’m not feeling 100% and see if I like it better then. It wasn’t anything special for me, and I couldn’t really pinpoint any of the flavors in it. It was just “tea” (if that makes aaannyy sense).

This is my day #6 of the David’s Tea “24 Days of Tea” advent calendar.

I keep saying this is not my favorite tea, but seem to have it every morning as I go to work. I like the name, I feel that whatever is going on around me will be better because I have had my Detox potion in the morning to prevent any wrong doings in the day or in the evening. I do like the taste, a bit strong but satisfying and keep going back

As others have noted the smell is very medicinal, lets take a sip…

Hmmm… not unlike Raspberry Nectar, except I find the lemongrass much more tolerable in this. Not the greatest of flavours, but something about this tea just feels detoxifying! I like this so much better than some of the other wellness teas I have tried (Skinny and The Cardio, I’m lookin’ at you!) and it’s exactly what I need after a meat-and-junk-food filled weekend with the in-laws.

So, Doctor says I have shingles… which also means that I’m feeling pretty lousy. Hopefully the tea will help, even just a little.

Got two decent steeps out of this today… not bad. Not bad at all.

Hum, Rooibos and Sencha with a Citrus flavor?

Balance: Good, but a little… strange.
Special characteristic : Sencha with citrus?
Worth the price : 6.50$ for 50g, yeah…

Etc.: I personally think that the sencha taste mixed with the citrusy flavor is great, but sometime weird in the mouth. Anyway, if you forgot the little Sencha, everything in this blend is great! I personally prefer Some Velvet Morning because of the really great blend between the green chinese tea, the citrus and the subtile tangerine which are really well balanced. But, the Detox berries mixed with the tangerine taste would be the best.

I just bought this yesterday. The smell is strange!!! I don’t know how to describe it…kind of spicy, almost something you would expect on a spice rack. I wanted to try it as it was a detox tea, hoping for a little pick me up. The smell before and after are completely different so don’t be put off by the initial smell of the tea leaves. It tastes quite nice, I was quite surprized.

Wow, this smelled wayyyy better in the store! When I get home, I always like to smell my teas. I find it funny how they always smell so different than when they are in the store. Anyway, from the smell of this tea, I could already detect a bitter note aswell as a lighter, lemony taste from the lemon grass. Those flavours really do come through in the tea once it is steeped but I have yet to decide whether or not this is a good thing…This is one that I can’t picture myself wanting to drink all the time but, as the tea did claim, it definetely gave me a bit of a pick-me-up! I felt really fresh once I was done my cup…I can definetely see why they chose to name it detox. For this rating, please note that I am ONLY marking it on taste.

Organic Detox is one of my favourite teas. Right away when you open the canister you can smell the strong aroma. The tea itself is a golden / brown colour when it’s steeped, nothing too exciting.

The lemongrass and natural lemon flavouring is the most noticeable when tasting, though certainly not overwhelming. The juniper berries and and ginger add to the complexity too, making it very tasty. It’s certainly not a sweet tasting tea if that’s what you’re looking for.

Something interesting to note about Detox is that it does in fact make you feel better! I always drink it when I’m feeling a little bit sick or just a little gross after an unhealthy meal, and it makes me feel much better. When I bought it, the lady working at Davids Tea told me that it’s good for hangovers, and after some testing, I can confirm this!

It smells better than it tastes. I don’t drink this tea very often but I always have some on tab. I tend to drink it after a night of drinking and junk food and I feel it helps my stomach. Perhaps I’m just a sucker for the word ‘detox’! It mostly smells and tastes lemon-y to me.
