From DAVIDsTEA

Cool sophistication

You won’t want anything else for dessert when you taste this tea. Even the aroma is totally satisfying. Minty fresh, with hints of dark chocolate and rich vanilla. Pour it and admire the coppery red of the rooibos, filled to the brim with antioxidants. Then take a sip and sink into its velvety sweetness. You can’t help but fall in love.

The first steep of this smells medicinal, like cough syrup. While the taste isn’t bad, the smell is definitely off putting for a tea that’s supposed to mimic mint chocolate ice cream!

The second and third steepings are where this tea really shines. Gone is the medicinal overtone and all that’s left is a vaguely chocolate scent mixed in with mint. Mint is the predominant taste in these steepings, with the faintest background hint of cocoa. Absolutely delicious.

This tea was good, but underwhelming for what I imagine in my head is the perfect dessert-y chocolate mint rooibos tea. The chocolate totally takes a back seat to everything else, which is probably good because I think the few hints I did get were that fake chocolate leave-a-waxy-residue-on-the-top-of-your-mouth chocolate. Yeah.

I added some rock sugar to my second cup, which I think was an improvement. Seeing as I don’t add sugar very often to my hot steeps, this tea just wasn’t what I was looking for.

I went into David’s tea with my mom one night and bought a bunch of tea. While she wears packaging it this tea was sitting on the counter just calling to me. So we both got a cup to go and I instantly fell in love. I definitely need to buy this! It is a nice combination of chocolate and vanilla and the mint is very aromatic and a nice end to the sip. Definitely buying a lot of it.

Apparently, I just love rooibos. Seriously, I’ve yet to try a rooibos that I don’t like (flavored or straight).

This was included in the DT Chocolate Box, and while I do think the mint is bordering on overpowering the chocolate, it’s pretty darn tasty. It’s very refreshing, which is something that strikes me as a little odd to say about tea, but, there it is!

Got a cup to-go from David’s this evening. You can really smell both the chocolate and the mint and unlike some “chocolate” teas I can actually taste it in this one! And it doesn’t suffer from letting the bag just hang out in the to-go cup, which is always a plus when you’re taking your tea for a walk!

Exploring my new found love for tea with mint in it, I knew I had to try this one! You can definitely taste the rooibos base but the mint and chocolate balances it out so it’s not so noticeable (if steeped for less time). I was more so surprised on re-steep to find the mintiness still there. The initial steep wasn’t as strong as I thought it would have been so I assumed it wouldn’t last.

I like it, maybe not to restock but it’s decent for caffeine-free evenings.

This tea is delicious. The aroma is sweet and minty, but the taste is a perfect blend of chocolate and mint. Just what I need to defeat my addiction to sugary chocolate coffee beverages. Huzzah!

Just finished a cup of comfort in a cup. I love that it tastes as good as it smells. This is my first review on Steepster, more to come.

This one is my favourite tea from DavidsTea (unless they make something that tops it one day!).
No need for sugar or milk. Actually has enough chocolate-y taste to substitute for a “real” dessert. Nice sweet and light green rooibos taste.
The best part for me is that every time I steep this (about 4-5min), I ALWAYS re-steep and it still produces enough taste to make a satisfyingly flavourful cup!

Totally agree with David’s Tea, this is the night time version of Read my Lips… with mint <3
