Azzrian Thanks!

This one is pretty tasty! I like that it has black tea AND rooibos! The blueberry is plump and juicy and real. There is just that little bit of cream or vanilla flavor that makes you realize it’s more than just Blueberry! It’s fruity yet smooth! The very best part, for me, is NO HIBISCUS! YAY!

I admit that I picked this tea up a bit on a whim. I was curious, but the one blueberry-flavoured rooibos I’ve previously tried was vile, and so there were a few bad associations with it. However, this one has creme. And excellent reviews. And then, I needed to round out a second Try Me pack…. so onto my list it went!

Immediately once I opened the packet, I knew I’d made a good decision – this tea smells like real blueberries. Real, creamy, delicious blueberries! This delicious aroma is maintained post-infusion, and has permeated my room (which is surprising, given that I have a very strongly flavoured Root Beer black tea in an adjacent cup).

The flavour, though milder than I would like, is creamy and does taste like fresh blueberries. No off flavours! The rooibos is really not an issue here at all, which is great! I would perhaps use more tea next time (2-2.5 tsp per cup instead of 1.5) to intensify the flavour, but this is pretty enjoyable as is. Another excellent evening tea, and another hit from Della Terra!

Argh, I forgot that this one had black tea in it until I was already downstairs with it with my heart set on having some before bed. Oh well. I’m pretty sleepy, so I should be ok.

Anyways, the creamy blueberry of this tea is really nice. I do wish the base was honeybush instead of rooibos, since I’m getting that teensy bit of scratchiness that I tend to with rooibos, but it’s bearable, especially with such a great flavour. I have to admit though, that I think cream flavour is a wonderful addition to nearly every fruit blend. Someone needs to come out with a whole series of fruit cream honeybush teas. Yeeaaaahhhh :D :D

Mmmm, a random pick from the tea I have downstairs. Delicious!

I really don’t know why I got an ounce of this instead of a sample. Odd, since I am not a huge rooibos fan. But anything with cream in the name is usually a winner for me, so I went for it! And thankfully, it was successful. I cold brewed this because the last time I cold brewed a rooibos, I really couldn’t taste the negative aspects. And indeed, no medicinal taste here! It is woodsy and has that rooibos-y flavor moreso than black tea, though there’s still some signature black tea notes. A wee bit malty, and honey-sweet.

The blueberry flavor is so damn authentic! Really tastes like fresh blueberries. And the cream, yumm. Ties it all together, this tea works way better than I thought it would. Kind of like… iced blueberry yogurt, only not heavy and very refreshing.

Well, this is not a tea about which I can find much nice to say. :(

It’s very pretty before steeping. The dry smell had something odd… what is that… don’t think I like it… what is it… oh, it’s like liquid Tylenol. Like medicine. Okay. Not looking forward to trying this. Hopefully it’s just the smell, right?

Nope. It tastes like cough syrup or the liquid medicine you get as a child. Not because it is sweet. No, it is simply medicine-y. I can taste maybe a bit of blueberry and some of the vanilla. It’s a very smooth tea.

Perhaps that is the rooibos. I haven’t tasted many rooibos teas to be able to tell – they aren’t my favorite. I think I have had about 2 that I like and they were all blended with black teas.

Anyway. This is not my cuppa. I couldn’t make myself drink it all. I’m not even sure I could drink it to be polite if it were given to me.

Perhaps others would like it better. I foresee it coming up in a swap offering. :)

I think that I ordered this tea thinking it was only rooibos and would be good to have a cup of at night. Last night I went to make a cup and realized that it had black tea and rooibos in it, so I decided to wait until this morning to have a cup. The dry leaves smell strongly of sweet blueberries and rooibos. I’m not loving the mediciney smell from the rooibos, but hopefully it won’t be too strong in the flavor. The tea smells like warm blueberry jam. The flavor is slightly malty with a juicy blueberry finish. There is a nice sweet cream aftertaste. I added a little sugar, which brought out more of the fresh blueberry flavor. Then I added some cream and it made the cup very dessert-like, like a rich, creamy dessert. I think I prefer the Blueberry Crumble to this one, but this still isn’t bad. And luckily not a whole lot of the rooibos flavor comes through.

-Dry blend has medium black tea leaves and small pieces of red rooibos with large dried blueberries and small blue petals.
-Dry leaves smell strongly of blueberries and rooibos. Tea liquor aroma is of warm blueberry jam.
-Tea liquor is a clear dark reddish brown color.
-Slightly malty flavor with a juicy blueberry finish. Sweet cream aftertaste.
-Milk and sweetener optional.
-Good tea. Fresh blueberry flavor with a hint of cream. Not a lot of rooibos flavor noticeable.

Oh. My. Goodness. It might just be the mood I am in right now, but this tea is FANTASTIC. After dinner tonight (vegan “chicken”, vegan mac and cheese and green beans, thank you very much) I REALLY wanted something sweet, but didn’t really want to go get dessert. Then I remembered I bought some German Rock Sugar from Teavana on a whim yesterday… The wheels started to turn… Let me say first that I NEVER EVER sugar my tea (I don’t really like to eat a lot of sugar, in fact) but I was CRAVING sugar tonight. So into my infuser went some sugar, and some of this tea. Into my mug went some soymilk and 4 minutes later… pourrrrr and sipppp and…. Blisssssss. Each sip is perfectly blueberry and creamy and sweet and EXACTLY what I needed tonight. I can’t attest to how it would taste without soymilk or sugar but I can guarantee you that WITH it, I am in heaven. Now goodbye while I slip away into blueberry creme paradise….

To reward myself for trying to move away from “dessert” teas lately, I switched it up and got to go back to a nice, sweet dessert while lesson planning! I’ve reviewed this tea before and it’s just as good the second time! This time, I heated up some vanilla soy to steep with my water, though, so it’s like a little blueberry cream latte. Perfect for this mild January morning!

A sample and a sipdown thanks to Kittenna!

Blueberry has just been my thing lately, what with the 52teas reblend and all. I was excited to get to try this and compare the two, even though it’s not a straight comparison. I just wanted to see how the two blueberry notes stacked up more than anything.

I can tell there’s rooibos in here just because there’s a slight woody note that isn’t present in the straight black 52teas blend. It’s not bad, just an extra part of the flavor. Here the blueberry is juicy and tart, but then the cream comes in to prevent any astringence in the swallow. This is perfect to drink straight and would make for quite an iced tea in the summer, I’ll bet.

Which – summer might actually come this year after all! The high today was 67! Allllmost to the 70s at last!

Thanks to Nicole for her stash reduction! I’m thrilled to try some of these teas I know I will love… starting with this one. I love this one. I had it the other day without reviewing it and I already wanted to try it again. I’m eyeing the bag and wondering how many more cups I can get. I think rooibos, blueberry and creme are perfect together and a great blend idea for a tea. The scent and flavor to me is entirely blueberry muffin batter! Yum! It’s very silky smooth! I really like it!

Additional notes: I had some of this one with some maple & brown sugar oatmeal this morning. I thought it was the perfect combination! I just love this one. There is one teaspoon left of this that Nicole sent me, but I made sure to get a bit more with my last Della Terra order. Yum!

Edited to add: This is my 25th tasting note! :)

Thanks again to Jackie T for another sample!!
I am pretty excited for this one, it smells really good dry and I am a fan of Davidstea Blueberry Jam, adding a creamy note would be just up my alley. I am wondering about the rooibos but hoping the black tea and flavours mask that a bit as I don’t love a noticeable rooibos taste.

It smells equally tasty brewed up in my mug so here I go…….

Yum! I mean YUM!! Wow it tastes just like a blueberry turnover or something. With custard. Della Terra you will be getting another order from this girl next time you have a sale! I love this. I can barely taste the rooibos, it is complementary to everything else which is how I like it.
Blueberry jam donut! I need more of this immediately!

I already have a favourite blueberry black tea in my cupboard, so I don’t know why I decided to order this. So, so glad I did though because I need to have this at all times now too! They are both different but equally delicious. So apparently I really love blueberries with black tea!

This is sweet, creamy, custardy, and rich. I love the addition of rooibos, it really brings out all the flavours and works perfectly with them. It doesn’t noticeably taste like rooibos..this is really well blended.

I haven’t tried it iced yet, but I imagine it would be amazing! I need to order more of this soon, almost finished my pouch. Darn it, I keep finding more and more teas that I always want to have on hand.

This was my first order from DT and this blend came highly recommended. I haven’t had much with roobios since even my Davids Tea infuser can’t hold the micro-tiny leaves that seem to be prevalent in roobios blends, and I’d end up with debris at the bottom of my cup which would drive me nuts.

So, solution to the problem — I used a tea filter. I added 2 teaspoons since I was doing it in my small teapot. I think I could have steeped it for just a smidge longer since it was pretty mild, but fruity, tasted like actual blueberries, and no bitter aftertaste which I’ve found in some black teas with fruit. (The Earl’s Garden springs to mind right away). But this is reaaally nice.

Smells great, like blueberry pastry. The flavour is more mild blueberry, and rooibos. Good, but I don’t really taste the black tea.

Holy delicious. For someone who isn’t really into fruity teas, this one took me by surprise! It reminds me of having a bowl of very freshly picked blueberries and a scoop of vanilla yogurt on the side.

The dry leaves smell like blueberry vanilla FROSTING but once brewed, it smells more fruity and the vanilla isn’t as intensely sweet as it smells. I taste more fruitiness than vanilla, so fruit tea lovers will still like this, but the vanilla makes it creamy and decadent so dessert tea lovers will enjoy it too! I left my tea ball with the steeped leaves in it in a cup on my desk and I came back in after an appointment and my office smelled like an incredible summery dessert.

I love the chocolaty, creamy, caramel type dessert teas, but this one will be added to my favorites. I also forget that it’s a rooibus, since there is NO medicinal taste to it at all. Winner.

I really enjoy black and rooibos mixed together. This is no exception. The blueberry flavor comes through nicely, accompanied by creamy vanilla. Very sweet on its own.

Also I watched all of the Oscars last night and I am so so exhausted today. Big mistake.. It was so boring, plus Seth MacFarlane was not great. I’m normally okay with ‘insult based’ humor (like Ricky Gervais), but I was not laughing last night.

This tea didn’t taste like cough syrup to me or anything of the sort at all. It was quite tastey actually. Tasted lightly like blueberries. Just a LITTLE bit of cream flavor.

I’m going by smilies on my ratings so the numbers may not be that high. I took 4tsp (for 16oz) and steeped at boiling for about 4 minutes (boiling for me is between 195 and 200). I think it may have been too long. This is my first attempt with this one and I’m dissapointed with it. I get an overwhelmingly taste of tea/playdoh (where that comes from I have no idea! maybe the rooibos?). I taste a little blueberry and slight hint of creaminess…but the tea/playdoh taste is overpowering. I don’t know if I added to much or steeped for too long but right now it’s not living up to its name:( Nothing like Strawberry Zabaglione by 52 teas. I’ll update my rating with future steepings.

This is really good cold brewed. The blueberry and cream come out strong and the aftertaste is right on too. My favorite blueberry so far. I had this hot before and it didn’t impress me but this way the flavors are totally on it.

Ok so re-steeping this cold for the 3rd time was too ambitious. The flavor was barely there. 2 seems to be the magic number for me.
