Another great della terra tea. First almond tea I have had and agree with others it smells and tastes more like amaretto (which is similar anyway). This is likely due to the almond flavoring (almond extract?) that always gives this flavor. That said I really liked the tea as did my tea tasting buddy. Definitely recommend brewing time longer than the 2-3 minute stated on bag and to stick to 1.5 tsp/6-8 ounce. As others have said, this tea is good but lacks some in strength of flavor – but you can often compensate with combo of more tea/longer steep.

I’ve come to love this tea after first steeping wasn’t quite strong enough. Oh how I adore coconut.

This isn’t doing it for me. Too fake-y almond. I got della terra try me size, so if anyone wants the rest, probably about 4-5 tsp or so left.

Have you ever had a nice hot cup of divine black tea and paired it with a coconut filled dark chocolate? If so, then you know exactly what this tea tastes like. Della Terra Teas are masters of producing wonderfully fragrant flavored teas. If the gorgeous flaky visual of this tea doesn’t immediately captivate you, then the luscious scent of tropical coconut and sweet almond will.

I did the same steep time as I do most black teas, and the result was perfect. Not too weak and not at all bitter.

Flavor wise, I didn’t sense the almond as much as I thought I would, but if anything that was a good thing. The nutty notes were subtle enough to let the chocolate coconut mix shine.

When it comes to dessert teas, Della Terra does not disappoint. Another fantastic one.

I was looking for something like an almond joy. This is pretty close. The aroma is chocolatey almond with hints of coconut. The flavour is a little more like chocolate covered almonds. Good dessert tea.

Thanks to Jessiwrites for giving me some of this to try!
I steeped it at 98 degrees C for about 4 min.

I would say its pretty true to the name, I can definitely taste all the elements, chocolate, coconut and especially the almond! To me thats what makes it extra tasty. It smells just amazing, both when dry and in my mug. I’m not entirely sure I would buy this since I have Harney and Sons SoHo (no almond in that though), but I absolutely wouldn’t turn it away if it came knocking on my door :)

It’s not amazing but it’s very good!

This tea is good but I didn’t get the coconut. I got almond and chocolate tastes definitely not a strong coconut one so I kind of forgot the coconut part. It’s more of an aftertaste. At least in this first cup. It smells good, like a chocolate bar.

this is wonderful :) .. enough said! :) .. the chocolate is light enough that it doesn’t give it that pungent cocoa taste… and the coconut and almond really blend well to balance out the chocolatey flavour!

So I’m starting to realize something. I don’t really like the chocolate Della Terra uses in their teas. This is very upsetting, because my instinct is to read the tea description, go “Oooo! Chocolate! Yum!” and add it to my cart. I ordered a bunch of sample packs when DT was running a sale that included samplers, and almost half the teas I ordered have chocolate in them. Their chocolate kind of reminds me of the chocolate from the Special K chocolatey delight cereal. My mother always claimed that she loved it, and it was just like regular chocolate and filled all of her chocolate cravings, but I always strongly disagreed. But on to the tea review!

This tea steeped up to a nice dark brown with a sort of greasy sheen on top, I would assume from the melted chocolate. It smells strongly of almond extract- you know, that fake, almost cherry-like, marzipan smell? At this point, I got a little leary, but I soldiered onwards! I took a sip and… It was amazing! An almost complete absence of flavor! There was a little almond sweetness, the faintest hint of coconut, a tiny bit of (kind of gross) chocolate. But the tea was incredibly weak. I drank about half of my cup before I gave up and went to the kitchen to try and make it a little better. I mixed in a little bit of coconut milk: “Hmmm. That’s better, but now it’s too coconutty.” I poked around in the cabinets for a while and dug up some Harry and David’s hot chocolate from last Christmas. I shook a little in… a little more… Delicious! I made coconut hot chocolate from my disappointing cup of tea. I may finish off my .5 oz sample some time, but very reluctantly.

Late afternoon tea with R before he heads back out for a PTA meeting. This smelled promising but then lacked flavor as DTs are sometimes wont to do. Prefer Florence on one of its good days (is that tea moody as heck for anybody else BTW?). As husband noted, still better than cat pee, ha.

I LOVE Florance – it’s never been moody for me, but maybe I’m just lucky, 3 tsp/16 oz 95C 4-5 minutes.
LOL better than cat pee isn’t really a glowing recommendation…

This tea isn’t really doing much for me. It smells pretty good in the bag, but I’m not getting much flavor which is disappointing. I put a bit of sugar in it and that brought out some taste, but not enough for my preferences. I’m finding I favor DT’s rooibos blends much more than the blacks.
