Oh yum! Oh yum! Oh yum!

I love S’mores. They are one of my all time favorite guilty pleasures, but one that I don’t enjoy very often as I rarely have the three ingredients in the house at the same time to make them. But, this tea tastes so much like them that I need not find myself with a craving left unsatisfied again!

I can taste the chocolate and the marshmallow – these flavors are very distinct – but the graham is a little less so. I find that if I slurp, though, and allow the tea to sort of vibrate along my palate, the graham comes through.

The black tea comes through too, although it is rather mild. As yummy as this is, it could be even better with just a little bit of Lapsang Souchong in the blend to bring out the campfire-y notes that all my best memories of S’mores have. I think that for what I have left of this tea, I might add a few leaves of Lapsang Souchong to it to see if I’m right.

Otherwise, this is really very good.

ETA: I almost forgot the reason why I went hunting through my stash to find this tea! I thought it would be the appropriate tea to drink as the SororiTea Sisters kick off their second giveaway this season! You could win a 12 Days of Christmas Sampler from Della Terra Teas: http://sororiteasisters.com/2012/11/23/the-season-of-giveaways-take-2/

Finishing off the last of the sample package of this… it’s so good!

I’ve so much to get done today … got to get these journals finished. My Japanese screw punch is malfunctioning, which makes my work even more difficult with these. sigh And I thought that of the few different ideas I had for my 12 Days of Christmas art exchange that this would be the quickest, most economical gift that I could put together… it’s turned out to be a huge project… much more than I thought it would be. Will be glad when I’m finished … don’t get me wrong, I’m having fun with it, but, like every year, I ended up biting off more than I’m able to efficiently chew.

Anyways… at least I’ve tea to keep me company while I toll away!

I slept in this morning. I climbed out of my super comfy big bed…put on one of those robes that feels like you’ve been wrapped in a babies cuddly stuffed animal and made a pot of ‘Favored Tea’.

My tea journey began with ‘Flavored Tea’, and gradually wandered down other avenues that at first were mysterious.
Green, Black, Oolong and then…Pu-erh. Each tea variety grabbed my attention and taught me about what was the tea base under all the flavored tea’s that I had loved so much.

I discovered that there is a point where you either have to pull away and choose to only drink unflavored tea or keep in the loop and taste and enjoy what everyone else is raving about without discrimination.

Tea can be very serious, or it can be loads of fun. I saw the same sort of cerebral decision working at the Winery. People got so serious that they no longer fully enjoyed wine. Some refused to try a wine that they assumed they wouldn’t like. “I don’t drink Rieslings”. Well, that’s borish!

I don’t want to be borish! I love my earthy Shu Pu-erh’s, adore my dangerously chocolate Black Tea’s and swoon over dark Autumnal Oolongs.

However, give me some flavored tea’s too! They are FUN!

What was brilliant with this S’mores tea was the use of real chocolate bits and real mini marshmallows and real crushed graham crackers. Just using chocolate, marshmallow and graham flavor would have sunk the tea into a horrid artificial flavor hole.
The natural ingredients seemed to cancel any taste of artificial flavoring. (I was relieved!)

When I first tasted the tea plain I wasn’t impressed at all. It was too bland. I added Splenda and cream which made the tea delicious.
I haven’t had success tasting the chocolate in any of the Della Terra Tea’s. No idea why. A little cocoa but nothing I’d call real chocolate.

What stood out was the marshmallow flavor and graham cracker taste.
Those flavors were rich and creamy, strong enough to make you feel like you were having a satisfying dessert. I had two mugs of this yummy tea!

So far, this and the Chocolate Pumpkin Chai have been delicious and worth having on hand!

Della Terra Teas remind me of Butiki Teas in many ways. Neither company seems to be trying to shovel a flavor down your throat and let the subtle nuisances shine through.
That is not to say that this tea is lacking in flavor!

This tea has a lovely S’mores flavor that sneaks up on you and goes POP!

The chocolate is there but nicely balanced and not trying to fight for the forefront or take over the show, the marshmallow totally pops especially in the aftertaste, and there is almost this cotton candy like sweetness in the lingering effect that sort of gives off the graham cracker flavor.

This is very delightful indeed! Excellent as it cools to room temp so I am sure it would be amazing iced!

I keep getting surprised by Della Terra with each new tea I try and I totally respect their customer service and they way they have added suggestions and made changes for us picky steepsters!
:)

FINALLY actually enjoying a cup of tea! Yes I must be getting better! Finally thank goodness!
I wanted something vanilla but still a bit weak to get too far into my cupboard to find the one I was looking for also from Della Terra but marshmallow – close enough and it is SO SO GOOD!
Its nice to have a cup and be able to taste and enjoy it again. This whole past week I have felt like an appendage was gone.

Alrighty… guests are out of the house, back to writing about tea!

We bought a sampler pack from Della Terra Teas because Missy really wanted to try the chocolately sampler pack. So we picked it up! And a few custom sampler packs… and there was a promotion that they threw in a Fall Sampler free with two custom sampler packs…

So, even though I haven’t been here posting, that doesn’t meant that I’ve somehow managed my problem. ;)

This tea is quite good, though they had me at graham cracker. It is very chocolately, and the marshmallow adds a nice creaminess to the flavor. A very nice creaminess.

The tea base itself isn’t my favorite though. I’m not sure what type it is (and Della Terra’s website isn’t telling!), but it reminds me a lot of the Hunan black I’ve had in a few blends from MarketSpice, that really just rubs me the wrong way.

Oh well, the flavoring more than makes up for it, and I think this tea will probably stick around. Could it be better? Probably. Is it the best tea with graham crackers I’ve ever had? YES!

This fall fave was in the package the awesome Azzrian sent to me last week. Thank you! I’ve been wanting to try Della Terra Teas and she really hooked me up! ;)

I love the mini marshmallows in this, btw. This reminds me of my own blend, Toasted Marshmallow (an Adagio signature blend), but there are so many other flavors. The first sip filled my tastebuds with chocolate and a hint of graham cracker. The aftertaste? Vanilla and marshmallow-y. Very cool.

It’s not overpowering, which I appreciate. I don’t care for uber-chocolate teas (please don’t throw tomatoes at me!), although I do enjoy uber-flavorful teas. This has the right amount of each flavor – marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker.

Added to my shopping list! This is a must for my Della Terra Teas order! Any other recommendations?

For my 500th tasting note, I opted for this one from my most recent Della Terra Teas order.

I’m upping the rating. This cuppa is fresher and much more delish than the already awesome one I had before. It does taste like s’mores! Chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker with half the calories…and no allergic reaction for me!

This is really a comforting cuppa. I had a bit of a headache as I started enjoying it and it went away. Maybe it was the childhood memories associated with this aroma, or maybe it’s just pure bliss. Either way, thanks Della Terra Teas! :)

Sincere apologies for this bombing of everyone with tasting notes. I’m typing things up as quickly as I can before I forget!

Anyhow, this is by FAR the best marshmallowy/s’mores tea I have had. It tastes like a s’more melted in a cup. The marshmallow is quite obvious, and even before remembering what the tea was, I clearly tasted chocolate. Didn’t really get graham cracker, but I don’t really care for them, so that doesn’t matter! I was much more concerned with the chocolatey marshmallow flavours.

Anyhow, for anyone disappointed in DavidsTea’s Toasted Marshmallow, or Teaopia’s Fireside S’mores, try this!! Definitely another big hit from Della Terra! (Oh, also I set the timer for 4 minutes and definitely went over by 1-2 minutes. Good thing these teas aren’t finicky!)

I won this in a contest on Della Terra’s facebook page, they frequently have these giveaways so I would highly recommend that you guys check them out.

I went into this with low expectations, but a lot of curiosity. I love s’mores but just wasn’t sure how well it would translate into tea. It really exceeded my expectations. With a little sugar, it was a rich chocolatey brew with hints of marshmallow and graham cracker and a little hint of smokey spice. Frankly, this was delicious. I went into it with low expectations but I came out of it with a new tea on my shopping list. You should check this one out.

I selected this as the first tea to try out of my chocolate try me pack. It’s smooth and lovely with no bitterness, but to me the S’mores taste is really taking a back seat to the black tea. That’s not a bad thing; it’s just not what I was hoping for.

Now that I look at my dry mix, I’m starting to think I should have shaken the packet a bit more before scooping out my tea, because it looks like there’s still some obvious settling. Maybe my next attempt with this tea will be more up to my expectations. I must admit that when it comes to flavored teas, I’m partial to ones that are in-your-face. I’m sure my preferences will eventually grow beyond this, but for now I still taunt my flavored teas with: “C’mon, hit me, I dare you” “Is that all you’ve got?!”

Hmmm…perhaps talking smack to my tea is a hint that I should lay off watching ultimate fighting for a while?…nah…

I’m finishing off my little sample size of this one from my chocolate try me pack. I made this a little stronger than last time and I’m getting more of the S’mores taste this time around, particularly at the end of the sip. I also got much more marshmallows and graham cracker bits in my scoop than last time. I’m upping the rating by one point, but if it could consistently get a taste like this, I would increase it by even more. I’d probably randomly pick this up again in sample size or maybe in a larger size if it were on sale.

Although it’s good, with the inconsistency in the taste of the brews, it’s not really a must have for my tea cupboard.

I won this tea on Della Terra’s Facebook page along with two others, they are so generous with contests! I like being able to try small portions of teas before I commit to larger sizes, which is probably why my samples are very close to outnumbering my actual teas… I may have a serious problem!

This tea smells AMAZING in the bag. Marshmallow, chocolate, and even a whiff of graham cracker! I could sniff it all day long, just walk around with my nose in the bag. But tea is for drinking after all, so I reluctantly pulled away from it to brew up a cup. As I suspected, the flavor isn’t as POW as the smell, which I think happens a lot with teas. The black base is actually the strongest flavor, it’s quite brisk and malty. Next comes a soft creaminess with a distinct marshmallow flavor, not surprising since there are actual mini marshmallows in it! The chocolate is also strong, though it’s a very milky chocolate—like a Hershey’s bar, which is fitting since this is s’mores. However, I really love dark chocolate so I was kind of hoping for a bit more depth. Then again, that wouldn’t really be “s’mores” would it? The one thing missing for me is the graham cracker—I get a bit of cinnamon, but not that toasty flavor I expected.

This is definitely a boldly dessert-y tea, with no qualms about what it is. Creamy, sticky-sweet, milky, bordering on the edge of cloying without stepping over it. It’s pretty heavy for an everyday tea, but as an occasional treat I can definitely get behind it!

This one sure has a hold on me. I’ve already burned through half my 1 oz. bag over the past week. Lucky Charms marshmallows, meet warm chocolate and a drop of vanilla.

I don’t really get the graham cracker, though. The base is quite mild, no astringency. I especially appreciate this blend because the sweetness doesn’t knock your socks off like some other Della Terra blends can (Pineapple Upside Down Cake comes to mind).

Something tells me I’ll be ordering more someday.

I finally opened up my new pouch of this that I ordered weeks ago. At last, more S’mores! This is my favourite DTT tea, and as a bonus, there is more graham cracker in this pouch than in the 1 oz. I first had. Yay! It resteeps well too. The second steep is almost as flavourful as the first. Maybe less marshmallow but still scrumptious.

No additives for me. This gem delivers and I’m upping my rating.

I love how tea seems to be on the cutting edge of whatever flavor is going to be trendy for a season. There were cotton candy teas before I started seeing cotton candy this and that and the other. Now that it’s “fall” it’s clearly s’mores next.

I say “fall” because fall does not truly exist around here until mid-October. And even then, that’s an optimistic estimate. We get excited if it’s going to be in the mid/high 60s in the morning in September.

When I first measured out the tea, there were no marshmallows, so I had to make sure 2 got in this cup. It was kind of entertaining to hit them with boiling water and watch them melt. Or I’m just mean.

It just started raining, finally, it was getting so dark I was getting annoyed. It did this yesterday too but I’m pretty sure it never rained.

THIS TEA IS SO AWESOME. I am going to leave out the part where it needs more chocolate because who even cares, it tastes like marshmallows and graham crackers, and I’d think that’s more of a challenge than chocolate! I really didn’t think the graham cracker flavor could actually come through but it does.

And actually, it does have the right amount of chocolate for s’mores. The creaminess of the marshmallow and the maltiness of the black tea help boost the chocolatey taste.

And I love how it has just the right tinge of smoke. I’m actually not a fan of campfire s’mores because I don’t like even a slightly caramelized exterior to my marshmallows, but if they tasted anything like this tea I’d be game. Although the last time I probably had s’mores while camping was 10 years ago so I’m sure my tastes have grown up.

This is awesome. I’m definitely going to need more than an ounce!

S’mores for breakfast!

I love this tea, I think maybe I could sweeten it just a touch and love it even more though. I don’t think it’s very chocolatey, but the marshmallow and graham cracker is pretty awesome despite that.

I tried this with a 4 minute steep today and it was perfect, definitely a temp to keep in mind for the black teas from Della Terra, I always have a problem with it not being enough in the end.

This one really smells like S’mores!
I put some mini mellows in my cup like a couple other steepsters did. It does make the cup just a little bit more creamy and like a hot chocolate.
The last cup of this was real murky from the all the stuff that fell through the steeper but it was the most tastiest cup for sure.
This is a perfect camping tea. It’s sweet and I like it!

Thanks so much Azzrain for this sample! Gosh this is good. I love the sweet graham cracker taste you get at the end. This would be perfect tea to warm yourself up while sitting near a camp fire .

Okay, so I won this on a Della Terra facebook giveaway (they’re so generous, it’s fantastic!). Immediately upon opening the bag I was blown away. How did they so perfectly capture the scent of a s’more? I’m getting really strong graham and marshmallow, which is fantastic. It reminds me of something from my childhood, and I can’t quite remember what…some sort of candy bar maybe? I don’t think I’ve ever had a tea that is more spot on with the flavor they claim to be replicating. I’m upset with myself for waiting so long to try this. Della Terra, you rock my world.

I know I wrote a review on this. WHERE did it go!??!
In fact, I remember comparing it to the same tea type from Teaopia. Odd.
Anyhow… holy shmallow! oh, yesssss it really comes out here. No graham cracker, sadly.
Unfortunately, it reminds me of an artificial Assam, as I find Assams often have similar, natural notes.
That said, it was a lovely tea! Requiring milk and sugar of course :)

So I threw this into my Della Terra order because it had good reviews. I was wary, because the Toasted Marshmallow tea from DavidsTea was fail for me.
I brewed this up one lazy afternoon because I wanted something new. First sip: OMG YUM! MARSHMALLOWS! It’s sweet and chocolatey in the sip, then as you swallow it’s like sugary sweet, marshmallow goodness. Like, EXACTLY like marshmallow. It’s uncanny; this is one of the most accurately flavoured teas I’ve had. I’m going through this bag pretty quickly because I just keep making it and forsaking all my other teas. I can’t say that I get graham cracker from this, but that’s okay with me. Chocolate and marshmallow are nothing to complain about, especially when done this well.

It’s such a beautiful day here today, nice and sunny with Carolina blue skies and a slight breeze. We had lunch at The Secret Tea Room and it was wonderful, as always. They have the best coconut macaroons and I ordered some to bring home. I would love to take a nap right now but need to go walk my mom’s dogs and check on the kitties at Petsmart. And we’re going somewhere to watch the basketball games tonight. I am hoping this tea will wake me up a little!

This tea smells like sweet marshmallow. I can smell it before I even open up the package! The flavor is malty with a sweet chocolate finish. There is a rich aftertaste of s’mores – the taste of it is dead on with an actual s’more. I really love that you can taste the malty, somewhat strong black tea at first and then there’s the sweetness of the s’mores flavor left lingering at the end. With a little milk and sweetener this becomes a silky smooth cup. I am seriously loving this tea right now! This is every bit as good as David’s Toasted Marshmallow, if not a tad bit better because it doesn’t seem quite so artificial. My fiancee is sitting right next to me, happily sipping away also, so it’s a winner for both of us!

Good thing I love this tea – I just received a swap package from whatshesaid and forgot she was sending some of this, and I also ordered it as one of my try-me packs. It will probably all be gone tomorrow! Thank you, whatshesaid! :)

-Dry blend has medium black tea leaves and twigs with small marshmallows, small chocolate chips and fine graham cracker crumbs.
-Dry leaves smell like sweet marshmallows with a hint of chocolate. Tea liquor aroma is of black tea, marshmallows and milk chocolate.
-Tea liquor is a cloudy medium brown color.
-Malty flavor with a sweet chocolate finish. Rich s’mores aftertaste.
-Best with sweetener. Milk optional.
-Excellent tea. A silky smooth cup of sweet marshmallow and chocolate.

Ok, this one didn’t behave at first. I tried it without sweetener (because I always try to be good and not make things too sweet). Needless to say, it tasted like a wet graham cracker. Gross.

Magically with sweetener and a splash of cream, this is delicious. The marshmellow, cocoa, and cakey graham flavors come through just fine without being too overpowering. Definitely make this one a dessert and you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Jackie T, my dessert tea angel, for all these wonderful samples.

My very first tea from Della Terra Teas! I’m very excited after reading many of the great reviews.
I first taste the black tea base. It’s not bitter.. but just very present. That taste quickly changes into a smooth milk chocolate with a little bit of graham cracker. This tea reminds me of a cereal I had when I was younger. I can’t think of WHAT cereal it is, though. The strange thing that happens is that none of the flavors stick around for a long time. They fade very quickly and don’t leave a really memorable taste. I was expecting a tea like Teaopia’s Fireside S’mores — that one still remains my top S’mores/graham cracker flavored tea. This blend isn’t all that bad.. it’s just not memorable & lacks the graham cracker/marshmallow flavors I want.
