I was in the mood for something foofy and sweet tonight, and pulled this out on a whim. I think I bought this during the after Thanksgiving sale, maybe. Anyway, just opened it tonight and it’s really doing it for me. I like it more as it cools and the marshmallow is really coming out. Someone else’s review mentioned smokiness and I don’t get that at all, and I am really sensitive to smoke. It’s more marshmallow than anything else, and I’m ok with that!

Foofy!

Oh yeah, I forgot Della Terra has some nice flavored teas!

From Ost’s stash sale.

This tastes mostly like marshmallow and black tea to me. Pretty tasty, but I was hoping for more chocolate. I probably wouldn’t buy it again since marshmallow doesn’t really excite me, but it was nice to try.

This is a total guilty pleasure latte tea for me! Either chocolate torani or chocolate milk make it scream S’mores.

I can imagine. However, I was more interested in the chocolate and graham cracker than the marshmallow, so not really for me.

I have completely ran the whole range of emotions on this tea.

I went from being indifferent, to disappointment, to dislike and now I’m on my third cup in two days and completely in love with it.

That summarizes my relationship with a lot of flavored tea, actually.

This one is absolutely a cup that needs milk + sweetener, though. (2TBSP Silk Unsweetend Soy Milk + 1/2TSP Sugar Free White Chocolate Torani for me today, please). The Torani seems to be both decreasing the chemically/plastic chocolate flavor I felt was present last time and increasing the actually chocolate flavor. Milk smoothes it out and makes the marshmallow creamy, sweet and present. There’s a crumbly cinnamon graham cracker note that kind of floats in and out and isn’t quite sure of it’s presence all the time.

The real reason to have this though, is that there’s something kind of fun about drinking dessert mid-morning.

This was my last cup of the evening yesterday. It’s probably not surprising that I couldn’t sleep, after having pottered around the house drinking tea all day. Still, tea is good. What would a weekend be without tea?

I used 1.5 tsp of leaf for this cup, and gave it three minutes in boiling water. No additions. This has become my standard preparation for my first cup of a Della Terra, and I adjust from there as required. Judging from the dry leaf, I was expecting this one to be quite heavily chocolatey (at least, based on the quantity of chocolate chips vs. marshmallows and graham crumbs) but I got a rather pleasant surprise.

The main flavour here is MARSHMALLOW! It’s pretty spot on in terms of flavour accuracy, and it somehow manages to taste creamy as well as sweet and sugary. The second flavour is, as expected, chocolate. Dark chocolate, to my mind, which works well as a slightly bittersweet counterpoint to the over-sweet marshmallow. Right at the end of the sip is a light biscuitty flavour. It’s a little fleeting, and I would have liked it to have a bit more of a presence, but at least it’s there.

This is another flavoured/dessert tea that’s a pretty accurate representation of the actual foodstuff it references. It’s so close to tasting like an actual s’more that it seems unfair to pick faults. I was pleased with the prominence of the marshmallow flavouring, as I had feared that this would turn into just another watery chocolate tea. Not so, fortunately! Another worthy cupboard addition, if dessert teas are your thing.

I agree that this is an excellent dessert tea. Used to be one of my favourites, but I’m afraid I over S’mored myself and it just doesn’t taste the same to me anymore.

Sip down!

Finishing off the sample that Ost sent me! Im not sure how I feel about this tea. I loved the smell, however the taste was disappointing. Maybe I under leafed in order to make a few cups out of this sample, or maybe the black tea base is just overpowering the other flavours… OR MAYBE I just hyped the tea up because of the name, whoops. Never the less I do taste the marshmallow and creamy-ness, however no graham or chocolate.

I like this tea. I don’t love it, but I like it. I have enjoyed trying this tea, and Della Terra teas in general! Thanks Ost!! Not sure if I would purchase this, however I keep smelling the eight candles by them and can’t wait to try that sample next :D and who knows if I like that, this may jump into the shopping cart too.

I’ve decided I really need to be more on top of trying all of the samples you lovely people have sent me. Since most of the tea drinking I do happens at work while all of my samples sit at home, I didn’t realize how many I have. I also forgot how excited I was about some of them. I’ve been drinking my favorites so much lately that it’s time for a change anyway.

So, this. Courtesy of Ost.

First, let me say that I don’t actually like traditional s’mores all that much. When I make mine, I always use cinnamon graham crackers and skip the Hershey’s in favor of a piece of Chunky bar (if anyone actually knows what that is…brownie points for you because I am apparently the only person that knows what they are and enjoys them)……(okay, fine, I’ll tell you what they are—a not-so-high-quality chocolate bar with peanuts and raisins throughout)…….(I promise they’re delicious)……..(really)………(alright, now back to your regularly televised programming)

Sometimes I’m extra rebellious and spread a schmear of peanut butter on the graham cracker first, skip the chocolate all together, and just lay the extra melty/extra burny/extra fantastical marshmallow on the peanut butter. Oh man.

Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is that I’m not a huge fan of this tea because it tastes like normal s’mores. Seeing as how this would be a plus for most people, I won’t rate it. But, you know you’re totally gonna try s’mores my way next time!

Another sipdown. I’m so proud of myself for completing so many teas this year so far. Anyhoo, this is another tasty dessert brew that smells very cocoa-marshmallow and is a pleasure to sip with a dash of milk. I’ve had a bit of a sweet tooth lately, but I think I purchased this tea last year and I’ll probably purchase it again this year. It really hits the spot when I am having a S’mores craving. This probably happens more often than I’d like because it is one of my favorite treats on earth. YUM!

I wonder why s’mores is spelt with an apostrophe. From the Here’s Hoping TTB, round 4

I actually like this lots better when it’s completely cold. For some reason when it was hot it was very chemically smell/tasting to me.

The cool liquor is very sweet smelling, but the mini marshmellows did little to sweeten the taste. The feel is filling, and only a little bit drying.

Christina / BooksandTea

I think it’s meant to be a contraction for “some more” – as in, “those are so tasty, give me s’more.”

Gonna be the next in the string of busy days that is my life. Sheesh.
Ost was kind enough to send me some of this, and I’m excited to try it. I loved Della Terras Eighth Candles, so I know I like their marshmallow flavoring.
I like it! I do get the marshmallow, and a floating note of chocolate, but I cant say I get any of the grahm cracker, which is required for a s’more!
But I’m enjoying this quite a bit. Good stuff!
Thanks Ost!

This was a bit of an impulse buy, since the idea of a S’mores-flavored tea was something that piqued my curiosity. The dry mix smells more like a chocolate breakfast cereal to me than a s’more. Then again, a lot of chocolate-based teas do.

Flavor-wise, it’s more like a weak hot chocolate than anything. It’s alright, but not something that’d make me immediately think of s’mores. There is, however, a faint taste there that I don’t like. Plasticy? Burnt? I don’t know, but it distracts a bit from the marshmallow and chocolate. Milk made it taste like the milk from a bowl of chocolate cereal, only warm.

I don’t think I’ll try resteeping. I doubt that after all the melty bits have dissolved it’ll really turn out well. Probably won’t restock it as it didn’t really impress me.
