The dry leaf scent is so amazing to me because its of my favorite tea cookie, Stella Doro breakfast treats. They smell so comforting and happy to me and I can’t even explain why because I’m not sure where the happy feeling comes from.
Brewed and hot, the cookie scent sort of disappears so I’m hoping it comes back through when cooled.
I’ve been waiting a long time to try this tea since I bought my samples. I waited until I could find the cookies it reminded of, and since I found them today, its time to try the tea!

It’s tea time with my boyfriend and we’re sitting upstairs at his place by the open French doors overlooking the massive oak tree out back and Fern Forest park behind it. This has to be the best view in all of south florida I’m sure, no parking lots or other houses or streets, just trees. The weather is surprisingly nice and allows us to open the doors for some fresh air. Listening to Washed Out.. pretty chilled out.

I don’t taste any chocolate in this tea and my beloved cookie taste is ever so slightly present. It goes good with the cookie though… a Stella Doro to go with some Della Terra! Try saying that 10 times fast. I already confused myself when searching for this tea to log and typed Stella Terra by mistake haha
I wish the tea was just a bit more flavorful though… I added extra leaf to begin with but maybe I’ll add more next time.

Taking a break from reading The Walking Dead to post a review!

The dry leaf smells divine; chocolate and almond-y goodness. Steeped, it smells like amaretto – nice and sweet. I added quite a bit of agave (reg and hazelnut) to this pot but it isn’t coming through. I only steeped it for 3 minutes and it’s a little astringent. That’s what I like about Della Terra Teas though, lots of flavour with only a short steep.

I don’t like it as much as the other teas of theirs I’ve tried, but this would make an excellent morning brew when I’m tired and need a kick in the pants. Holding off on rating it until I fiddle with the steep time and additives.

Wow…It’s been a long time since I’ve done a proper tasting note! I am still making my way through my last orders of Della Terra and Verdant Tea, as I wait for my newest order to arrive!

The dry leaf for this tea smells wonderful! It is very strong and the almond is definitely very present! I found that the tea kept its smell once it was steeped as well.

Mostly, this reminds me of a nice amaretto tea. It isn’t heavy on the chocolate, although I do get those notes as well. The flavour isn’t as strong as the smell, but in this case I definitely consider it a good thing. It has a nice balance of sweetness on its own, and tonight I added a tiny bit of vanilla agave (I am in love with the stuff) and it works great together.

I almost always find that chocolately dessert teas benefit from a splash of milk, and this one was no different. It’s perfect for when I want something hot-chocolately but not heavy. It isn’t my favourite dessert tea, but I would consider buying it again. I’ll definitely drink the rest!
