So apparently all this tea is making me soooo sleepy. I can’t sleep yet since i’m still on call but man, i could sleep. So it looks like i’m going through phases tonight…some caramel teas…then the pumpkin one, which was kind of like apples…so here i am now. SIPDOWN!

haha thanks to Kittenna for this one. This tea smells like some other tea that i can’t place. It’s like a creamy-ish kind of generic rooibos smell.

The taste? It’s apple…and cinnamon and rooibos? I really wish i could place what this tea is reminding me of, and…. holy distracted tasting note batman. Mostly…this is REAAAAALLLLLYYYY reminding me of another tea that I can’t seem to figure out and it’s distracting me to the point of not being able to articulate my thoughts on this one… plus? tired Sil + on call with technology = say whaaaaa?

Oops, this was another tea I brewed up the other day and didn’t get around to drinking. What a waste! So I started with some fresh tea today to give it another shot.

The dry tea smells kind of appley with a bit of a rooibos aroma. Not bad but not terribly enticing either. Brewed, same deal. Mostly appley, but that rooibos aroma pokes through and makes things a little iffy.

The flavour is definitely a bit different though. The first thing I noticed was a fair bit of creaminess, which isn’t apparent at all in the aroma! I suppose this is the yogurt. The apple then appears, along with a bit of cinnamon, and those flavours linger into the aftertaste a bit. I don’t really tasty any funky rooibos flavours, which is relieving.

Overall, it’s not too bad, and I like the way the creaminess works in here to smooth everything out, but I just don’t think apple teas are ever going to be a favourite of mine. Unless someone comes out with a granny smith apple white or something. That could be delicious.

THIS IS EXACTLY THE APPLE TEA I’VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR!! I just got my Della Terra order today. I had to take them up on their sale. I bought three ‘try me’ packs and got two free ounces and free shipping. I now have 19 Della Terra teas to try (including the two free free samples they sent)! I really really like trying things. All because Nicole sent me the Blueberry Creme that I love! They have a ton of interesting teas, including a few apple! This tea is part of Della Terra’s “New Crew”.

This one has apple chunks that give it a delicious flavor! And the perfect amount of sweet cinnamon to have it taste like an apple pie. I really wanted a simple apple tea with just apple and cinnamon and a nice base — rooibos is good! I’m not sure what the yogurt does for this, but it’s great. I really hope the other 18 teas are just as good as this one!

(It seems impossible to get the pictures from the Della Terra site to transfer to Steepster when you register any of “the new crew”. Can anyone let me know how to do that?)

So, I have a bizarre smell association with this tea. It reminds me of a My Little Pony I had as a kid. I had over 300 ponies, and some of them were scented. Weird, yes. But that’s what this tea smells like – a delicious My Little Pony.

Anyway, it tastes like a creamy apple cider. No medicinal rooibos flavor, just delicious cinnamon-y apple. I really enjoyed this, but it just tastes like it would be better in the fall.

Thanks for sharing, Courtney!

I ended up receiving samples of this from three different people, lol! So thanks very much to Courtney, Cavocorax and Jackie T!

I tried some for the first time today, made it in my Contigo travel mug to take to the theatre when we went to see Iron Man 3. (Awesome, in case you were wondering!)

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this given that I didn’t love the Vanilla Cream rooibos I had the other day, but it smelled decent.

I was pleasantly surprised that the rooibos took a back seat. It was true to its name, apple cinnamon; the yogurt wasn’t super noticeable but i am sure it added a bit of a creamy note and probably toned down the spiciness, which i appreciated.

Luckily I still have a few cups worth left so it will make a nice caffeine free option for a little while! Maybe I will order an oz at some point.

I’m much more impressed with Della Terra’s rooibos teas than their black teas. I don’t know how they do it, but I went from not even being able to handle the scent of rooibos tea to ordering 7 oz. of it in my most recent order. Gah!

My fiance had the first steep of this so I’m now enjoying the second. But sometimes the second steep is the best. The scent wafting out at me is reminiscent of apple cider, yum.

Ah the first couple sips are so comforting. There’s an ever so subtle hint of rooibos taste in the background but it isn’t bothering me tonight. A lovely apple and cinnamon balance. The yogurt must be what gives it the slight creaminess.

This just seems like the perfect tea at this moment. If I didn’t have to finish this chapter before retiring for the evening I could see myself kicking my feet up and just sipping away as I relax and clear my mind. I’ll have to save that moment for another day and just enjoy my cup while making notes about attribution errors and the like tonight.

Only one week left until I’m completely done my exams and we’re off to Vancouver though!

So I made this tea about two hours ago, and then was completely distracted with the baby and helping a friend with a business idea.

WHOOPS.

I gotta say though that this tea is very forgiving. It’s room temperature and it is still very VERY good. It’s a pleasant swirl of apple and cinnamon with a touch of creaminiess to wrap it all together.

I have been so impressed with Della Terra Teas when it comes to their honeybush/rooibos blends. Wow. Thank you.

It’s too late to be up with an angry teething baby. :| Nights like this make me wish I had to get up at 6 for work, instead of being off on maternity leave. /0\ (go to sleep baby, I’m sorry baby, I’m doing everything I can for you, stop being sad…)

Not even tea can fix this. :| Not even apple cinnamon tea.

Maybe I’ll just go to bed and cuddle her and that’ll calm her down. FIrst I need to calm down. Sip that tea down!

(Speaking of sipdowns, I’ve been sipping down like crazy! I think I’m at 85 teas or something? So I might eventually get down to that fabled 50. Just ignore the 9 I’ve got coming from Della Terra, and a few incoming swaps, and I’ll ignore the email from Zen Tea about 20-40% off teas… At least I’m making room? No more going over 100?)

I had this tea tonight from my MYSTERY BOX! Please do this again della terra, I loved it so much. I think I’ve said this like 20 times now but really I love surprises.

This tea is a nice mix of rooibos and apple. I don’t know that I love it as much as classic apple pie, but it is a nice caffeine free apple. I added a bit of almond milk and the rooibos flavor really shines.

Reeeally nicely appley (yyy) and cinnamony and it makes me want apple cinnamon oatmeal. Not picking up any yogurt, though. Was a nice evening caffeine free option! Thx cavocorax! :D

I have yet to find a rooibos from Della Terra that I don’t love. This tea is no exception.

The dry tea smells a bit like apple pie. The cinnamon is not overwhelming at all. Once brewed, it smells mostly of apple and rooibos.

The flavor is like taking a bite out of apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s creamy and rich with a hint of cinnamon. As it cools, the apple becomes more prominent.

Overall, a very nice tea and a must try for all those looking for a tasty apple rooibos!

At first I thought this was too medicinal for me, but I let it brew a little longer and the flavors I wanted came out! Brewed, it smells like a hot spiced apple cider. It tastes like a cinnamon apple sauce but with a creaminess to it from the yogurt. I would let it cool a bit before drinking to get the optimum flavors from it. Not my favorite, but I will definitely enjoy this as a bedtime tea!!

This is a good rooibos. The apple cinnamon flavor tones down the rooibos flavor, which is nice. There is also a creaminess to it. It’s great to have an apple cinnamon tea without orange peel flavor. I’m not a big fan of orange, so I like this a lot better.
