Shoot. This was a disappointment. Tastes like something has gone bad in it or something. Probably a good thing since I wouldn’t be able to order it if I liked it.
Thanks for letting me try it AlphaKitty!

This tea was many firsts for me. It was my first swap, my first experience with della terra teas, and my first tea with sprinkles. It. Is. Awesome. Shout out to Jackie T. for the sample!
This tea is absolutely delicious! It really does taste warm and caramel-y and marshmallow-y ! I was a bit apprehensive before trying this tea because I am not a huge fan of marshmallows, but it did not disappoint! I haven’t even finished the sample yet and already ordered this and some other della terra teas.
This is definitely a tea I would recommend to someone! I also plan on giving it to all of my friends who claim that they do not like tea in my efforts to convert everyone I know into avid tea drinkers!
I loved this tea and cannot wait to try some more of della terra’s teas!
My tea habit is out of control at the moment – and I would sigh resignedly here, but I honestly don’t care. :)
In general my life is spinning fast – with all good things, but it’s just suddenly there is an abundance of things to do, lists to make, books to read, teas to drink – and I am having trouble getting focused enough to make headway in any organized fashion.
The solution? To drink tea, of course!
I tried a sip of this without milk and found that at the below steep time I definitely had some slightly astringent black tea on my hands – not a bad thing, but I went ahead and added milk to get that out of there. And for next time: definitely stick to the 3 minute parameter. I also think that initially there was a slight note of artificial caramel – it vaguely resembled that weird note in David’s Salted Caramel, anyway.
However as it cools, I’m getting more of a genuine caramel taste with some sweet/creamy notes from the marshmallow, which the milk had to help along. This is good! I liked the S’mores better – I probably dreamed about it last night I loved it so much – but this one is right up there with the best of my dessert-for-breakfast teas.
I have to say I am SUPER excited to try out the rest of the teas from my order – I am loving Della Terra so far!
This is one of my all time favorite teas. It tastes like a giant cup of happy!
This is so marshmallow-y! I might even say more so than S’mores!
I have been having serious anxiety lately, and when I got home today I wanted something warm and sweet and comforting, so I thought I would give this one a shot. It is not letting me down. It’s very sweet, but delicious.
This tea smells really like marshmallows. And caramel, but the marshmallow is more prominent. It tastes like dessert in a mug.
Loved it! Marshmallowie goodness, yuuuum.
One word for this tea: AMAZING!! This tea is soooo yummy. I purchased it thanks to Azzrian’s review. So glad I did. Marshmallowy goodness. I was so happy that Della Terra restocked yesterday. Picked up 2oz of this and the Candy Cane! My bank account has really suffered this season, but somethings are worth it ;)
Oh my goodness! SO delicious!! I’m sipping this at my desk at work right now for the first time and the first thing I taste is a roasty marshmallow flavor, it even SMELLS like a roasty marshmallow.
The caramel flavor I think comes after you’ve enjoyed the sip, like an aftertaste, which is actually fairly nice because the tea is excellent all the way through the sip. No bitterness, no dryness. I steeped for 3 minutes at boiling with 1.5 teaspoons.
Second cup of this one. I wasn’t terribly interested the first time around, and decided to steep it just a little longer (4 minutes this time, as compared to 3 before) to see if it drew me more. Oops, too long of a steep. Instead of being light and delicate, and the caramel and marshmallow notes readily available, it’s slightly bitter. Yes, it’s to be expected when let alone too long, I was not expecting the extra minute to change the tea experience so completely. Not my last try, though, so I’ll be giving this another shot.
This is a sweet cup of deliciousness! I wouldn’t have it as a everyday tea, but it’s a great go-to when craving sweets. Nice flavour balance and the caramel notes at the end of the sip is all kinds of yum!
This tea smells and tastes terribly. I found a Della Terra tea i simply detest! which is fine, I LOVE others. I may give it another chance but frankly I don’t think I will bother as my palate found it repulsive.
Preface to say I’m generally not a black tea guy.
So my Della Terra order came in today. I picked this guy to start off the taste test. Smells like candy when you open it……mmmmmm, candy!
First sip…HOT! ouch! Damn it, I’m awake now!
Second sip (slightly later on)…. Good taste, not bitter, not getting much of the candy flavor through. I’m still not a black fan but this isn’t bad for one.
Well, I wanted to try it due to all the other great reviews. I’m just going to have to concede that everyones tastes are different.
First time preparing this with my brand new gaiwan, so it may or may not throw off my taste (I have no clue about that, this is my first time using a gaiwan).
Scent
-Before Steeping: Rich caramel scent, decadently rich. Extremely rich, almost overwhelming. There is a thick cloying sweetness scent to it.
-While Steeping: The typical black tea scent, blended with a cloying sweetness and marshmallow after-scent. The caramel scent is still there, richly in the foreground, intense and sweet.
-After Steeping: There is still a faint black tea scent, but that is mostly overshadowed by the reinforced intensity of the caramel, extremely sweet and cloying.
Taste and Overview:
At first taste it’s sweet. Very sweet. Just sweet, at the beginning at least. Right afterwards the intense caramel flavor shows itself to the world, rich and powerful, and just downright delicious. This shows itself well as a desert tea, cloyingly sweet and yummy. You can just taste the marshmallow in it throughout the drinking experience, which lends that nice marshmallow gooiness flavor into the mix. It’s just so good and rich it’s not even funny. Too rich, of course, for anything but a desert tea, but that’s alright. The aftertaste is mostly a sweet caramel flavor that just kind of hangs around for a little while, which is kind of annoying. After adding a little splash of almond milk, for added taste and creaminess, the flavor just soars and astounds. The nearly flavorless almond milk adds that lovely creaminess to the tea, and the very slight, barely-there, lingering taste of almonds hits it just right. I now have a flavor more akin to a caramel crème brulee or a caramel flan. That sweet syrupy caramel intensity blended just right with burnt cream and sugar. This tea is definitely awesome. I would drink again and again as a desert tea.
I looooooooove!!! First of all, it’s such a beautiful tea in the bag. The sprinkles and marshmallows make me smile. Then I take a sip. Yum!!! It’s so marshmallowy and awesome. I love it. I just downed a cup…glad I made this my first non davidstea to try :) next up is s’mores and cinnamon crackle. Can’t wait!!! I wish I ordered 40000oz instead of just 2. Haha!
I brewed this using 195°F water for 2 minutes and then put the tea in the refrigerator to cool overnight. I am drinking a chilled thermos of this at work today.
I had high hopes for this tea. The description is marvelous and the tea is really beautiful with all the little sprinkles and festive balls. The taste is yummy and very marshmallow. The aftertaste, however, is not. It builds to something not very pleasant, maybe akin to the aftertaste of some artificial sweeteners. I’m not really sure how to describe it.
I played around with the brewing parameters. If I use more leaf and longer steep time, then the sugary marshmallow flavor becomes fantastic, but the aftertaste scales as well. So, I found that 2 minutes provides a light marshmallow flavor and light aftertaste and is the most enjoyable way to consume this tea.
Thank you T.C. for this sample! I was not sure about this tea when I first made it, but it grew on me. It is definitely a marshmallow tea! I was hoping to taste some of the caramel notes, but I couldn’t. I made mine with a little sweetener and cream. Overall, it is pretty good and I may consider purchasing this one in the future!
I do enjoy this tea, even though its smell at times reminds me of vanilla air freshner. At first sip the tea leaves me with a creamy marshmallow vanilla taste and mouth feel at the back of my throat combined with a drying sensation and slightly woody, bitter taste at the front of my mouth followed by an aftertaste of caramel and spice. It does become quite astringent at the second steeping. A warming and interesting desert tea.
This is such a pretty tea! There are mini marshmallows, sprinkles, and gold balls mixed in and smells sweet and marshmallowy. The black tea was pretty strong but I could still taste the caramel marshmallow. I thought I would like this more based on the reviews here but it is still good. I’ve never had a marshmallow tea before, now I want to try some others because it really tastes good.
