I got this from my Christmas card exchange with Khaleesical. I am drinking it now, as I feel like I should drink a Christmas tea on… Christmas. This tea is only fine for me. It brewed really weak, which is a disappointment. I don’t know if the mug I used to brew it is just bigger than I thought and I didn’t use enough tea, or what happened. I used 2 teaspoons (a bit over) for 16 ounces.

Anyway, besides brewing tea a bit weak for me, this tea is lovely. It tastes like I remember Celestial Seasonings’ Candy Cane Lane to taste like, as it has a sweet backdrop to a mint flavor. This is a very good tea if you are looking for a black tea with mint and other sweet flavors. It falls a bit flat for me, though, and I can’t put a finger on why I’m not absolutely in love with it.

With all of that said, I would likely order this tea on my own. I believe I could become really excited about it if I was in the perfect mood for it.

A nicely balanced peppermint black tea. Can’t really taste the chocolate, however. It’s all black tea, peppermint and vanilla. I like it, but I’m not sure if it’s a peppermint black tea I’d want to regularly keep around the house yet.

I would check this tea, or one of its variations, if you’re looking for a more balanced peppermint black tea, though.

Sipdown time!
You ever have one of those days that, for no real reason, you are dreading going into work? That’s my day today. Weee.
Well, I’ll fortify myself with a mint black.
Farewell, Peppermint Bark. I’ve liked you, but not loved you, and its time to move along.

I’ve had this tea for almost a year now and it is still sealed. I decided it was finally time to break it open and try it out. I brewed it up both plain and poured over milk to see how I felt about it both ways.

The plain tea seems a touch bland to me. There is mint in there for sure but it is not as strong as one would expect given the amount of leaf and peppermint pieces. There is also a hint of chocolate richness at the end of each cup but it is fleeting. And the vanilla is virtually non-existent except for in the aftertaste where a touch of vanilla flavoring can be found.

The milk really brings out all the flavors. I immediately pick up a creamy vanilla-mint that is certainly reminiscent of the holiday season. It reminds me quite a bit of Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane (which personally I quite liked). That combines with a splash of milk chocolate flavor thus making for a pleasant enough cup. With that said, the fact that this needs the milk to make just a decent tea, I find myself not all that interested in keeping this stocked in any quantity.

Tea number two from my mystery box… yeah, I can tell these mystery boxes are going to be a new addiction for me…tehehe:P

This tea smells divine… and the leaves look absolutely gorgeous… but.. I don’t know what it is, I don’t like it. Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t like chocolate and the mint really isn’t that strong. Sitting here drinking it thinking about how I should like it.. but it’s just not doing it for me, too bad.

Leaving it unrated for a bit until my boyfriend can give me an unchocolate-biased review. :] I bet he will like it:]

I received this as a sample from a recent Hapa-tite! Tea Swap — thanks Suziqzer!

I really did not get much of any flavor from this, not even mint.

From Travelling Tea Box C – A nice black tea with a good combination of vanilla and peppermint and I guess crushed candy canes. I thought I tasted chocolate too, but I’m not sure.

Since this tea is pretty much Shamrocks and Shenanigans, but with candy cane pieces, I’m keeping this review short. This is one of my favorite dessert teas. It tastes so good! The addition of the candy cane creates a nice aftertaste, and adds color to the dry leaf as well.
