Anyone else remember those hard strawberry flavored candies that are wrapped in the shiny foil that looks like a strawberry?

(These: http://bit.ly/13nFsnW )

If you melted that down and added water, that is this tea. Even without sugar added.

It’s not a bad tasting tea. I really like the base blend. It’s buttery, but remains light. The mouthfeel also imparts a nice creaminess. The strawberry is just really artificial and doing nothing for me.

The whole thing would probably be better with a slightly tarter, less candy-ish strawberry. I’ll probably finish what’s left iced with lemon.

Anyway, thanks whatshesaid for the sample!

I like this far more than some other steepsters did! Full review tomorrow at 6pm central at http://sororiteasisters.com/but for now here are my snippets:
To be honest, I really am not even focusing on this review right now, this cup is that good! I keep getting sidetracked by the cup, sitting back inhaling in the sweet creamy aromas, enjoying the aroma of the tea leaves caressing my senses with their delicate, but attention grabbing nature. If they made a perfume that smelled like this I wold wear it. People may say I am too old to wear a scent that smells like a carnival, but put me in a pink tutu and parade me around the ring, I am all in with this tea! It reminds me of the fair, or a circus, and all of the sticky sweet smells that go along with it from spun sugar cotton candy, to kids blowing giant bubble gum bubbles, or the smell of funnel cake filling the air. Yet, it is not really all that sweet at all! The flavor of this tea is nothing close to sticky sweet! Its so natural, so pleasing with the grassy buttery tones of the tea, that while I may be taken into this sweet intoxicating world in my imagination, I am not putting that junk into my body! What could be better!?

Today I had two green teas from Della Terra. This and Almond Biscotti. I like the other better. I brewed this at 167F because I was impatient to wait to 160. Could 7 F make such a difference? It is just a touch bitter. The strawberries are a good presence but it feels a little too green also. Like if you’re eating the entire strawberry, leaves and all.

Am not getting the " cream" part of “strawberries and cream” yet. Not in the possibly too hot first steep. Good tea for sure but not after Almond Biscotti sets the bar for flavoured green tea everywhere. :)

167 F, 2 perfect scoops for 16 oz water. No additives (yeah!). Good flavour, definitely not timid. Nice fragrance, you can smell it a few feet away. I don’t love it though. Can’t put my finger on why. Will try a pinch of sugar and lower temp for second time around.

This tea is just sitting next to me now and I attempt to work on my presentation. The scent coming from it is not very “real” smelling. I’m excited to try it, but I’m so picky about my fruit. I like fresh fruit and that’s it haha – not chocolate fruit, not fake fruit – just fresh and delicious. Hopefully it will come off more as a strawberry dessert made with real strawberries :)

The taste is an improvement from the scent, but there’s something in there that comes off as “artificial”. It’s certainly nice and creamy, especially for a green and white tea, which is quite lovely. I really wish the strawberry flavour was more true to actual strawberries.

I may put my leaves in the fridge to see how well it tastes cold brewed. Update: It’s better cooled, but I’m still not enjoying it enough to repurchase.

Thanks jessiwrites!

Haha, I am just drinking this! I was a bit disappointed in the artificial taste in this one, too. It was better cold, but still definitely nothing I’d ever order again.

I mixed it with Jasmint today, and it’s quite lovely like that.

I felt the same about this one.

Going to bump this up a bit because I added a little bit more leaf and brewed at a lower temperature and my god, this is strawberries and cream. It reminds me of the strawberry flavored Pocky (Japanese snack) because it’s sweet and creamy.

Decent, maybe a bit too fruity in a slightly artificial way… Not bad, just not for me I guess.
Kind of tastes like strawberry candy, I don’t want that in my tea!!

Glad I just ordered this as part of the Custom Sampler Pack from DTT (don’t even get me started on how awesome it is that that exists!!! <3 Della Terra)

Eta lowering the rating a bit because… Well just because.

I feel like I got this tea today, I finally understand what it is supposed to taste like! The magic seems to have been a lower water temp and shorter steep time. I got a nice, vegetal green with strong hints of strawberry and a smoothness that I am happy to consider a cream flavour. It was a lovely early evening cup of tea!

Tea #16 from the Here’s Hoping TTB

I don’t generally drink a lot of strawberry flavored teas during the fall, they’re more of a spring/summer drink for me. I do think the strawberry flavor is a little artificial tasting, but it isn’t the worst offender I’ve come across. It reminds me a bit of strawberry candy and is just a little too sweet. The blend of white and green teas is nice and give this a buttery sort of feeling.

I think I would like this much more as a cold steep and during warmer temperatures. It just isn’t a drink suited to 18°F.

All I wanted to do all day was go home and have a cup of tea with a cupcake! After running errands including stops at seven different places, I finally got my wish. I enjoyed this with a blackberry cupcake :)

I made a big ole’ teapot of this just so I could get the sipdown. It’s nice today. The strawberry is here, more like strawberry hard candy than the fresh fruit. I’m not getting much of the cream. There’s a dryness here that lingers long after the sip. I’m generally not a fan of dryness in teas, but it’s drinkable.
