Here’s hoping I can read next time :/
I didn’t see it said chocolate and I really hate chocolate. It tastes just like chocolate ice cream, which I’m sure is appealing to someone lol

This tea doesn’t taste like fresh strawberries…but it DOES taste remarkably like melted strawberry ice cream! Not quite sure how they did it, but it’s all there: the creaminess and the sweet, slightly artificial strawberry flavor. It’s great on its own and I’m guessing it would be even better with a splash of milk!

I enjoyed this one too, if I recall correctly. They seem to do cream flavouring well, in my experience (which is why this one is good – the strawberry could be improved, I agree).

Inkling

I haven’t tried a lot from Della Terra, but I’m impressed so far! Thanks for the tip on the cream flavoring.

I really enjoyed 52teas Strawberry Milkshake Honeybush, so I should probably check this out at some point.

This tea is excellent. while I was warned about gluten in some Della Terra teas, this one looked fine. I looked it up. It does in fact taste like a strawberry sundae. You get strong notes of strawberry and strong notes of cream. So much so that these flavors slightly drown out the flavor of the black tea base. This is a very good tea. Thank you to whomever put it in the box.

I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 3 min.

This is a fun tea. There’s plenty of strawberry flavor and enough vanilla and chocolate to give it a “sundae” feel. Since it’s a dessert tea I added sugar, and then after drinking about a quarter of the cup I added cream, too. If I were going to keep this tea around I’d definitely do the cream and sugar thing. It really adds to the dessert aspect of the tea. However, I already have Strawberry Cream from Zen Tea, and since I’m already hooked on that tea I’m putting this one back in the box. Look at me showing restraint. :)

Hello everyone. It’s been a while. Hope you’re all well, getting ready for the holidays.
I’ve been busy cooking, welcoming someone new into the family (brother-in-law got engaged Finally!) and … cooking. :)

In between all that I’ve Been drinking old favourites and up until this Black Friday I haven’t bought much “new” tea. This was one of the teas I picked up from Della Terra. Can’t beat their Black Friday prices, really. Assuming you like their teas, of course.

The taste of this to me is identical to DAVIDs “love tea #7” which I quite enjoy. I get the berries and the chocolate all together with black base when the tea is hot. As it cools, not so much base anymore.

Those of you not on my Instagram (which is all of you, really, save for mrmopar and one other), here’s what I’ve been up to.

So great you see you around! And those are incredibly lovely looking desserts. I haven’t tried creme brûlée before but you make me want to. :)

OMGsrsly

Yum! :D (Now I’m following you!)

Nxtdoor

Yay, @OMGsrsly! You have some seriously awesome photos, btw.

@fjellrev, thanks! As for brûlée, I make them because people love them. I used to stint as a pastry chef, had to make them by the hundreds. Not my fave dessert to eat by far. When you first try, make sure it’s good. You could end up hating it forever if not made right.

Sil

Sadly there is a LOT of bad brûlée out there :(

OMGsrsly

Thanks! :D

Fjellrev

That is exactly why I haven’t touched the stuff yet. I’m sure the same would apply to those other custardy desserts like creme caramel and panna cotta.

Nxtdoor

Panacotta is more forgiving because you set it with gelatin instead of baking. So you don’t end up with scrambled eggs like you would with an overcooked brûlée. Anyway. Enough from me on the subject. Good luck!

Fjellrev

What would you say is the hardest dessert to make?

OMGsrsly

Gluten free pastry. ;)

Nxtdoor

Any kind of puff pastry is tricky. Soufflé is another one that can bite you.

Sil

i think nxtdoor should just have us all over for a dinner…consisting solely of desserts. giggling

Nxtdoor

All you can eat creme brûlée? 12 days of … Creme brûlée? (Banana liqueur brûlée, coffee brûlée, sour apple brûlée…)

OMGsrsly

Mmm… Sounds delicious!

Fjellrev

Funny, I was going to ask you about soufflé! I made it once and probably royally screwed it up because it was awful haha.

This is an interesting tea, but it doesn’t live up to the strawberries-and-ice-cream that I was hoping to have in each cup…it comes across much more chocolate than expected and overall sits a bit heavy on the palate.

I’d enjoy it more if it wasn’t so sweet, but overall it was a tolerable cup. I’m not in a rush to drink it again or anything, but…it wasn’t awful.

This tastes like a typical Della Terra Tea. I’m getting tons of chocolate, some strawberry, but nothing that I would consider “sundae” – no creamy at all.
I haven’t had anything like this for awhile now, but this was a little fun today. Really it’s just ok, but every once and a while it’s nice to go back to something from the past. I’ve pretty much moved on from this style of dessert tea, but here and there nostalgia kicks in and a cup or two are warranted.

This is one of my older samples from Della Terra, so I pulled it out to try last night. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but after a couple of sips, I think I get what this one’s about. The first thing I could taste was the chocolate, and DTT’s chocolate isn’t always to my liking. This one was saved by the emergence of the strawberry flavouring, which reminds me of strawberry syrup rather than an actual strawberry, and a distinctive vanilla ice cream flavour. Very creamy and delicious! Happily, both these flavours are the main stars once they come to the fore, and there’s not much of the slightly artificial, basically weird tasting chocolate to be found. It’s probably not a tea I’d buy in quantity, but the strawberry/ice cream flavouring is nice enough that I’ll have no trouble drinking up the rest of the sample. A sweet, tasty summer treat!

From Another TTB. This was definitely sweet like a sundae, but it didn’t have a lot of strawberry taste. It was nice to sample, but I don’t think I would purchase it.
