In a timolino.

Just like with Cinnamon Bun/Monkey Bread, I felt the need to rescue this from the closet because it’s also often forgotten about when it doesn’t deserve that. It’s a really great blend!

This thermos worth was light on the mint and heavy on the fudgey vanilla chocolate – but it worked and was indulgent and I really enjoyed.it. Mental note to really appreciate my older Della Terra blends a lot more!

Sami Kelsh

Oooooh, this does sound shiny.

Well, I’ll be damned. One of the ladies here at work stopped at Timmys on her way back from somewhere and picked me up a bagel. I can’t say it paired perfectly with this tea, but this tea was wonderful nonetheless. Creamy, minty, and underpinned by a light chocolate. I’m nearly out of my stash for this one as well, and it’ll likely make an appearance when I put in my next dellaterra order. it’s funny: I seem to have come up with a few tea rules for myself, and one of the loose ones seems to be that I only take flavoured tea to work in my timolino. I find that the vessel I’m drinking from makes a difference and teas with strong flavour seem to do better in the timolino than unflavoured ones, so I’m really glad I have a sufficient dellaterra stash to keep me supplied.

Sipdown!! (173)

Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing this tea with me. It is quite a tasty cup – minty and sweet. However, after trying Anti V-Day treat (thanks Sil), I find this tea lacking in the vanilla notes that I enjoyed so much.

As for now, this is hitting the spot though and I will be sad to see it go.

Thanks Courtney for sharing this! I love this tea for the adorable cow sprinkles, but I don’t know that I would buy any. Not with 5 oz left of Read My Lips sitting on my shelf.

But… cows!

keychange

Just got my dT sample of this! (minty cow that is). So excited!

Roswell Strange

You’re both making me impatient for my Della Terra order to come in! I have some Minty Cow on its way to me as well! Blah.

I made this one this morning, knowing very well I had absolutely no time to spare, and ended up pouring it into my normal ceramic travel mug and gulping it down en route to pick up my friend for school. I had to give it a fair shot and remake it once I was home for the evening.

I am continually impressed with Della Terra’s minty black teas and this is no exception. This is very reminiscent of all their other minty blacks, especially reminding me of Shamrocks & Shenanigans, minus the little green pieces. This one has little white pieces instead haha! All in all, I’m happy I ordered the 2oz.

Lariel

I was hoping it tasted like the Shenanigans. Cow Shenanigans among the Minty Shamrocks?

Kittenna

The two minty cow blends are the same as the two shamrock ones, renamed and with different sprinkles :)

Sil

Tat always rives me nuts about Della terra….just keep the same damn teas, stop renaming them just for different seasons. New sprinkles doesn’t = new tea

MissLena

I need to get this! Shamrocks and Shenanigans was my favorite mint chocolate tea ever!

Stargate sample time. The cow sprinkles taste like mint. Smells really good too. The flavour is smooth chocolate mint. Not sure if I like it more than the other blends, as further tasting is needed.

This definitely smells like minty chocolate. The taste of the tea is reminiscent of mint hot chocolate, but with a tea base. I like this. I will probably add some sugar the next time I brew this because despite the cow sprinkles, I think it could have used it.

How could I not try this? It has cow sprinkles!

It’s got a lovely minty, chocolate, milky deliciousness. No hint of bitterness at all, just super duper good. Yum!

For some reason, I find it hard to separate out Della Terra’s minty black teas in my mind. They’re all pretty similar, as far as I can tell, with just slight variations on the mint/vanilla/chocolate theme. This particular example has little cow shaped candies! I thought they were all white at first, but there are also some black and brown cows in the mix. Too cute!

I gave 1 tsp of leaf about 3.5 minutes in boiling water. No additions. It certainly smells minty and sweet, a little like mint hot chocolate. To taste, the most prominent flavour is chocolate. That surprised me a little, as mint can be so dominating. The vanilla comes out next, and it’s smooth and creamy, adding a hint of sweetness to the chocolate which is actually fairly bittersweet. None of the Della Terra artificial chocolate here! The mint comes through primarily in the aftertaste, adding a crisp, cooling twist. It’s pleasantly refreshing after the chocolate/vanilla headiness of the initial sip. The black tea base is unobtrusive, but smooth and astringency free.

Overall, this makes for a pleasant sweet treat. It’s similar enough to some of DTT’s other mint/chocolate/vanilla blends that I don’t need it around all the time, but it’s certainly a pleasant variation on the theme. A worthwhile try.
