With 1%. I think I’d probably prefer this one without the chocolate, or the marshmallows- I can’t tell which one is giving me this old, soggy graham cracker flavour profile.

The best things about this tea creeps out around the finish and aftertaste, in a kind of snowball effect. Those best things are the pumpkin spices and caramel flavour. Delicious, gooey caramel.. I can almost believe you’re actually there.

Despite not being a fan of some of the components in this one, I’d still easily pick it over David’s 2013 rendition of Pumpkin Chai. I’m just not digging the stew of citrus notes and spices it seems to have this year.

Edit: I want to add that the empty cup has the aroma of a melted, lightly spiced, caramilk bar. Also, this has so much more flavour when I steep it for +6min and use two teaspoons.

What’s your favourite pumpkin blend, by the way?

momo

wow if I hadn’t already plotted salted caramel chai for an attempt at work on Friday I’d go for caramel pumpkin chai NOW. I didn’t even know this was a tea though maybe that was a good thing!

CrowKettle

At the moment it’s the Pumpkin Pie matcha from Red Leaf. It mixes well with ice cream so it automatically wins. It’s not a very subtle blend flavoring though. I might come to love Butiki’s more subtle Pumpkin Milkshake, but I don’t seem to reach for it too often.

Momo, both of those ideas sound amazing because they have caramel in them. :)

Amariel

This has everything I love in it. I’ll have to try some, sometime.

Cavocorax

Oh, I second that – it’s amazing. I haven’t mixed matcha with ice cream though – what a fool I’ve been!

MissB

Matcha with ice cream is AMAZING. Seriously. I usually do my matcha’s as smoothies/ice cream shakes, although you can just as easily do them when making your own ice cream. I just add a spoonful into the mixer while it’s churning, although the bubble tea place I like just dusts it on top of the ice cream.

Sipdown!! (94)

I am applying to schools for next year and that means supplemental application questions which suck. However, I was not too stressed as I have one application left to worry about and I thought I had already written 2/3 of the questions. Except, when I opened my computer to find the question, it has gone missing as in no where to be found as in I need to completely redo it! And since I worked on it weeks ago, I really don’t remember what I wrote. So I am sad and just want to be done.

At least I have finished something and that is this tea. It was okay but really nothing special so I am not sad to see it go. It has a nice pumpkin spice flavor but the combination of spice, caramel, and marshmallow is a little much for one blend. Plus, it can taste really off when not brewed properly. So, so long Caramel Pumpkin Marshmallow, it was fun while it lasted but we won’t be meeting again.

I know you are not asking for advice… but here goes. As a person who is on several scholarship committees, remember to look up the school’s mission statement and anything else from their website. Think about that while you are writing answers to their questions. It might give you an edge. :) Good luck!

Veronica

Good luck on your applications. Filling them out is awful, but it’s nice when the acceptance letter arrives! :)

VariaTEA

Thank you carol who. I actually have heard that before so have already thoroughly gone through the website for anything I can incorporate into my answers.

And Veronica, hopefully the letter shows up but we shall see. One thing at a time :)

Terri HarpLady

My way of thinking: When you write it all over again, it will be even better than the first time would have been :)

VariaTEA

I hope so, Terri. Unfortunately the last time I had a lot of time to write and rewrite and perfect it. Now I am cutting it close but I can’t stress too much as I also have work for class to do. I will write it and hope for the best.

I wish that pumpkin wasn’t considered a seasonal flavor, because pumpkin doesn’t just stop being amazing after Thanksgiving. I hate that I feel like I need to squirrel away pumpkin teas so I can enjoy them year round. Rawr.

I just want it to be the gift that keeps on giving, is that too much to ask?

This cup has plenty of natural sweetness and a satisfying blend of pumpkin pie spices, which coax out the pumpkin flavor. The marshmallow doesn’t really come through, but adds a wonderful creaminess to the burnt sugar and caramel undertones of the whole cup.

Thanks jeweledthumb this is quite good!

I didn’t look up the brewing parameters before brewing, so I went with 1.5 Tbls, boiling water for 5. Minutes. Then, I saw on here that 5 minutes is the far end of brewing parameters. This long steep time did make the tea a bit astringent so I will definitely lower the steep time next time. You know it is in the morning….I JUST NEED TEA….NOW! Haha, or I am anyway!

Anyway, what part of the tea that wasn’t astringent was delicious, sweet pumpkin and creamy marshmallows. I don’t think I got a proper taste though. Next time, I will follow the parameters.

Merry Samhain! This is really part of the Harvest Collection, but I saved until Halloween. It’s pumpkin, so it counts.

I so love the smell of pumpkin spice in the morning. Tastes like a sweeter version of the chocolate pumpkin pie. Might have been a little better as just caramel and the pumpkin bits.
Still, it fits the mood for today and my cravings for fall flavours.

I’m kind of torn on this one. I just don’t know. It’s…okay. It would likely be very good as a latte. But it’s just…okay. It tastes just like a slightly creamier Pumpkin Chai from DavidsTea. I dunno…I’m not wowed, but maybe my wife will be.

Tabby

I plan on trying this one soon. Hmmm.

If you like pumpkin chai, I would recommend it, it’s just not for me.

I picked some of this up for the Secret Pumpkin and when I was portioning it out, each time I got a whiff of it, I thought “I’ve got to try that” but due to the Secret Pumpkin, I also managed to receive quite a bit more samples than I’m used to having at any one time (no complaints) and never got around to trying it. Till tonight that is…

Well, unlike the Davidstea Pumpkin Chai, this doesn’t taste nearly as flavorful as it smells, but it’s a similar taste profile and pretty yummy. I used 2.5 teaspoons in my 16oz steeping mug and added sweetener. I think next time I’ll try steeping for a few less minutes (I did the full 5 and I think the black tea has drowned out the flavor a little). Otherwise, tasty, just wish it tasted the way it smells!!!

Oh Black Friday online tea shopping! How I love you (and my wonderful friend Kim who made this order for me because I was at my grandparent’s without internet access)! This is a very nice cinnamon tea. In my mind, I had hoped it would be all that I love about Eight Candles with the added enjoyment of Pumpkin. I guess I’ll just have to make another cup and see if it gets there :)

Hm, this tastes familiar. It’s a lot like my beloved Pumpkin Chai from David’s, a little sweeter though. It is missing one element that I liked a lot in Pumpkin Chai though, and that’s the bit of tartness from some sort of citrus. I feel like that really balances things out and because of that I can’t help but find this lacking just slightly.
