Oolong Tea by Dr. Tea's Tea Garden

We take our world famous coffee tea base and delicately blend it with chocolate chips and shaved crème. We then dust it with cocoa powder for a rich coffee treat of chocolaty goodness!

Coffee tea base: Dr. Tea has invented this coffee replacement. Oolong, roasted in a similar process to coffee, mixed with roasted tea leaves and twigs combined with fresh essence of vanilla and vanilla blossoms 4oz

If you are a lover of semi-sweet chocolate- well more like a Lindt chocolate bar with 70% or maybe even 90% cocoa, then this is a tea for you. This vendor roasts his own oolongs like a coffee beans and then sprinkles the roasted oolong w/cocoa powder, to give this a bitter sweet chocolate flavor. Not sure if the chocolate flavor will remain present in multiple steepings but the first steep is wonderful.

I got on this Chocolate tea kick this week after French Vanilla asked me about Chocolat Au Charlott from D. Freres. Anyway,,,after trying several , this is still one of my favorites. Nice cocoa powder flavor comes thru w/slight , very slight vegetative ooolong in the background. The inside of the tin and the oolong itself is visibly coated w/cocoa powder.

I had this tea Last nite and Florence Wed. …..this one was the hands-down winner . This just has a full bodied cocoa flavor….

This (and the caramel one) came today so I’m having it for dessert.

The aroma of the dry leaf unfortunately has little chocolate scent. It’s primarily the roastyness of the oolong and the creme.

I pretty much ignored the steeping suggestion as always- or at least the generic ones on the tin. Luckily there was a card giving more a more appropriate suggestion. Up to 10 min? Wow. I’ll start w/ 5.

1 heaping tsp (about 3g)/6oz water.

Wow… the liquor is so light compared to the regular coffee oolong- almost like a dark cider. And unfortunately the flavor matches. It has neither a coffee or strong mocha flavor… just a roasty, but smooth, oolong. I’ll wait til I try a 10 min steep to rate it.
