Rooibos Earl Grey

Rooibos Tea by Dragonfly Tea

The wonderfully fresh aroma of real Bergamot blended with naturally caffeine-free rooibos tea to give the classic Earl Grey taste.

All Dragonfly rooibos teas are still cured in the traditional way, as it was when Benjamin Ginsberg founded rooibos. The process takes place in the crisp air of the Cedarberg Mountains of South Africa’s Cape. It requires great skill to know when the cure is at its peak; one sign is that it begins to give off a delicious sweet aroma that attracts wild bees.
Dragonfly rooibos teas are naturally caffeine free, so they can be enjoyed at any time of day and are suitable for the whole family. Rooibos is rich in antioxidants and AHAs, long valued for fresh glowing skin, gently rehydrating and low in tannin.

Directions: Add freshly boiled water and allow to brew for 3-4 minutes, according to taste. Add sugar or honey. With or without milk or as an iced tea.

An unimposing rooibos with barely-noticeable bergamot. The tea itself has a pleasant floral honey scent, but it suffers from being individually-bagged. The leaves are a nearly uniform autumn reddish-brown, and it produces a golden-red brew. I find it underwhelming and disappointing; it’s currently being used up in my cupboard rather than delighted over.

Increasingly dusty (see previous tasting note): eventually I gave this one away.

I love this tea! Sometimes I try to avoid caffeine, so am always looking for herbal infusions and this has to be my favourite! I like Rooibos, but find the plain one a little boring. This Earl Gray version is really versatile. You can drink it with, or without milk, hot and even left to cool and drunk cold it’s really refreshing. I just really like this Rooibos version of Earl Grey!

I tried one of these at work a while ago and really liked it. Bought myself a box last night, though, and the first cup was really overpowering. I left it for 3-4 minutes as directed, so might try a shorter brew next time
