I went to Foodtown for the first time, and saw this tea at the organic section. AHH!! Local tea! I got excited and grabbed one that me and my bf would enjoy the most – genmaicha. This one is great! It is just like any genmaicha. It is just rice in here and no popcorn, but thats fine. This one gets a little bitter if it has been steeped for too long or if it has been left to cool a little. I think thats pretty standard though. Good tea! woo! I can’t wait to try other teas from Ducky Life Tea.
Holden's Genmaicha
This unique steamed Japanese green Bancha is mixed with hulled rice kernels, giving it a rich nutty flavor.
Like other green teas, this one is known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Originally, genmaicha tea was made by peasants who added rice to extend the infusion. Today, in a reversal of fortune, genmaicha is enjoying a surge in popularity, especially at chic Japanese Tea Houses, where it is all the rage.
