Cinnamon Roll

Black Tea by ESP Emporium

An old time classic, which just must be part of any standard, and of course, any Christmas assortment. The strong China/Ceylon blend, enriched with crushed cinnamon pieces from Ceylon receives its perfectly balanced taste through our expressive cinnamon flavor. Quite simple and perfect.

Ingredients: black tea (91%), cinnamon pieces, flavoring.

Serving Size: 1 level tsp./6oz serving

Brew Temp: 203 to 212 degree F

Brew Time: 4 to 5 Minutes

Decided to try this today. It smells very cinnamony, with a pastry smell mixed in. After steeping, it smells more like really sweet cinnamon, a little less of the pastry. I had to gulp this one down really quickly before lab started, so I didn’t get to take time to taste. However, I remember it being a bit weak and watery. It was more cinnamon and a bit of tea flavor, not much pastry. I’ll have to give it another go when I have more time.

Yea, this one is not for me. When I smelled the dry leaves I was concerned that it would be too cinnamony and make my tongue do that weird thing where it feels like my taste buds swell. Brewed, however, there’s hardly any cinnamon flavor at all and there’s some other flavor there that I don’t care for, something vaguely savoryish? I don’t even know how to describe it but I don’t care for it at all. It’s almost as if the 4-5 minute steep time that scared me with the other two black teas I’ve ordered from them finally impacted the tea and made it an odd bitter. It’s going up on the swap wall if anyone wants to try it.
