Pumpkin Cream Rooibos

Rooibos Tea by ESP Emporium

When thinking of pumpkin, the big, hollow Halloween pumpkins cross your mind. But our new Rooibos variety is not scary at all. The colorful decoration is given life by adding select ingredients such as grass—green stinging nettle leaves, brightly colored blossoms, and crispy fruits. An extraordinarily fruity and fresh taste sensation not only for autumn.

Ingredients: Rooibos tea, honeydew melon cubes, apple pieces, flavoring, stinging nettle leaves, sunflower blossoms. Serving Size: 1-2 level tsp./6oz serving, Brew Temp: 203 to 212 degree F, Brew Time: 8 to 10 Minutes

What an interesting looking blend, not as attractive as it’s picture but never mind. This is a pumpkin tea that doesn’t actually contain any pumpkin which is a little disconcerting as most companies have something in there (pumpkin seed, candy, roasted chunks..anything).

The raw mixture has a spicy edging on sweet scent similar to a weak Chai. Once steeped it’s dark red/brown with a sweet and earthy scent, creamy too.

Creamy, sweet, spicy, melon, smooth, silky and light. It doesn’t taste like pumpkin which isn’t too surprising since it doesn’t actually contain any but there is a slight earthy tone there in place of it. The melon is more noticeable which is interesting…a spicy and creamy melon tea. The rooibos is not that thick (thankfully) and the sweetness is at a modest level.

As far as this tea goes as regards to being a pumpkin tea I would say it was a huge let down. As a rooibos blend it’s rather nice, a little different and considering I love melon it’s turned into an unusual treat for me. Not my favourite by far but drinkable at any rate.

Hmm, this is an interesting tisane that I picked up on the latest haul from ESP Emporium. I was hoping it would be more pumpkin-y but I’m picking up more on the honeydew and apple element here. It isn’t too bad for a fruity rooibos tea, especially with soymilk added, but not quite what I was expecting from a tisane called Pumpkin Cream. I don’t have a whole lot more to say about it, will probably finish it off eventually, although not in earnest.

What an odd little tea! There’s nothing in this that says pumpkin to me – not the ingredients or the smell of the dry leaves. It actually kind of smells like fruity bubblegum to me. Ackkk, this tastes like stale fruit. There is a strange aftertaste that is dry feeling, ew. I’m mostly just tasting that stale, musty fruit flavor. This tea has a whole lot going on, but sadly none of it is pumpkin! I tried adding milk and sweetener, and I still don’t want to drink it. I can’t believe they call this pumpkin cream – I can’t find any pumpkin in this cup at all! Oh well, thanks KittyLovesTea for the sample!!

-Dry blend has red and brown rooibos with chunks of dried fruit and yellow petals.
-Dry blend smells like rooibos and fruity bubblegum. Tea liquor aroma is of sweet fruit.
-Tea liquor is a clear deep orange brown color.
-Very stale fruit flavor with an almost spicy finish. Odd dry feeling and artificial aftertaste.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Poor tea. Strange fruity flavor. No pumpkin taste at all.
