The tempting aroma of Black Forest Cherry cakes, refined with a little sweetness and attractively decorated, make this blend a much sought-after specialty. An exceptional creation which proves that tea always has something new to offer.

This was in the travelling tea box and I believe it came from momo. The name definitely intrigued me. It makes me think of fairies. Speaking of fairies, I think I’m going to buy this for my bf’s 8-year old niece (http://flitterfairies.com/). It seems like something an 8-year-old girl would enjoy, right?

This tea sounded really cool. Green tea AND green mate. For some reason I thought this might be better as a cold brew so I did it over night and .. I don’t know if I’m really feeling it. It’s not as amazing or interesting as I thought it would be. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and brew it hot?

KeenTeaThyme

I really enjoy this one hot, but I haven’t tried it iced. Make you a deal – I’ll do it iced if you try it hot. ;)

Rebecca Lynn

I’d ask what kind of person the 8 year old is! I was very into Pokemon at that age, haha.

CupofTree

I used to have something similar when I was that age. Cant go wrong with fairies!!

Babble

@Keen – Haha. Okay, I’ll try it hot and see if my thoughts change.

@Rebecca – She’s definitely into typical 8-year old things like dolls and Littlest Pet Shop.

@CupofTree – I’ve never seen that before. I want one too, lol. This is exactly why people have kids. Lol.

Rachel Sincere

Yes, I have this one and thoroughly enjoy it hot.

Thanks to momo for this one! Unfortunately…. It literally has no flavour. None. I can’t even lie and say it tastes “fruity” or “green”… because… it doesn’t. It tastes like water with something in it… but for all I know, that something is mud. Sad sad. Maybe it has lost some flavour sitting around…?

I wish this actually tasted like black forest cake, or just cherry. It tastes like amaretto, but not the good kind, the kind that gets too almond flavored for my tastes. The floral aspects of the tea kind of help, but when your taste buds seem to seek out the flavors you hate, all the flowers in the world cannot help.

I was totally hoping the coconut in here would do something. It doesn’t even make it seem a bit creamy. I guess this one is not for me. I’d love if the green tea was a little more prevalent, along with the coconut. It probably is for some people, and all I can taste is almonds!

CupofTree

ooh cool name! I always want to try these teas just for the name and usually end up disappointed. shame lol

CupofTree

oh and I love amaretto! coconut with amaretto sounds good. sounds like the green tea part is not so good though.

TeaBrat

I think I have this same tea from a different vendor – I need to break it out. :)

momo

@CupofTree: if you’d like some of this to try, I definitely don’t plan on drinking again. I am just so averse to almond for some reason to the point I couldn’t finish the cup. There’s just a LOT of flavoring in it, the most I’ve ever seen in a green, it was like an oil slick on the surface so it’s definitely what causes the green to just be there rather than taste like green tea.

Totally gave in to the name too haha. Though I thought also a green/mate would be interesting!

Thank you momo for this sample.
This smells awesome. The taste is not so awesome. It is mellow which is nice, but its just lacking too much. Shame too because I love the name of this one. What I don’t understand though is where do these tea companies come up with these names? How did an Enchanted Forest come up at all during the creation of this tea? It is pretty, maybe thats why.

Azzrian

Joy’s Teaspoon has this and I THINK maybe uptons … anyway the one from Joys was good so maybe they all source from the same place then tweak them a little?

CupofTree

oh really? that’s not very creative is it :/

Backlog:

An interesting blend of green tea and yerba mate. I didn’t hate it, it was tasty, but I was still a little disappointed because the description suggests a black forest cherry cake flavor and that’s not what I got.

I got a sweet, vegetal taste from the green tea and earthy notes from the yerba mate. Hints of floral notes. A sweet, invigorating taste.

But I got no cake-y flavors, no chocolate, no cherry, and there really is nothing to this blend that even suggests that these flavors might come forward with the exception of a very faint whisper of a sour cherry note. But that is so barely there that it’s not even worth mentioning.

I wanted chocolate and yes, I’m a chocoholic and there’s never enough chocolate but there wasn’t ANY chocolate here.

Disappointment!

Another tea in the Traveling Tea Box (A) – this smelled DELICIOUS! Slightly sweet and almond-y.

I haven’t had a blend with green tea and green maté before, which was interesting. But this doesn’t taste like Black Forest Cherry cake to me – I’m not sure what it tastes like exactly. There’s a sweetness to this (almond?), but I don’t taste cherry. It’s not bad, just not what I was expecting based on the description.

I didn’t know what to make of it either. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great. Definitely unique. I’m glad I left it in the box for others to try.

I actually really liked this one. I had a cold when drinking it but I could taste the fresh cherries and whatever gives it that “black forest cake” feel. Nice tea background too; I’m getting pickier and pickier about that.

I adore black forest cakes ! Near home I have at least 15 bakeries but only 1 proposing this cake and of course I always try to avoid this bakery…sometimes I can’t :) the name of this tea is absolutely wonderful

Still can’t get over the aroma of this! It’s awesome. A nice cup, too!

I know this tastes good but my palate is saying ‘eeeh’ to black, black flavored, and greens today…take ‘em or leave ’em type thoughts…I don’t think that has ever happened. I guess I will change to whites and oolongs…see if that’s what I am craving today…

TeaEqualsBliss

Gave the rest to my Dad…he LOVES it!!! I’m all out of my stash now…sigh…
