2006 Xiaguan Cooked (Shu) Pu-Erh Tuo 100g

Pu-erh Tea by First Class Teas

These are seriously tasty bricks of excitement!
Wrapped up in paper inside a Chinese box, it’s like opening a present every time you have a cup of tea. Chip off a gram or two and brew over and over again (we got 8 brews out of it before we began to taste more water than tea!), as it releases it’s yellow pink liquor and perfectly balanced sweet earth flavours, without astringent aftertaste.
Editors note: Upon proof-reading this, one of our ‘real opinions’ panel commented: “It’s not yellow-pink when I make it – look!” whereupon she showed the thick black contents of her mug. “The way I make it, it makes my ears flap: wonderful!”. Well, each to their own I suppose.
A joy for the cooked PuErh lover.

Mum drinks this all the time. She likes it thick and black, with sugar – really rich flavour. Yum.

A celebration of winning the Ashes test match at Lords – that’s a cricket reference for all you USA readers ;-)
Yummy, now onto the third brew from my new Yixing teapot.

Onto the fifth brew for the day: I like it stronger that some, so it’s getting a bit light now, but still very enjoyable.
