I don’t really like lime flavoring, but it’s not terrible here when it’s cold. I might taste some watermelon too. This isn’t bad, but not for me. I think I’ve also tried this one from another company, and I like it more than I used to. Thanks for sharing this one, getanzt!

Happy father’s day!  I should probably be drinking Lipton for the challenge today (sorry, Dad) but I don’t have any Lipton… and probably wouldn’t want to bother steeping it up if I DID have it, unless I was desperate for tea.  Instead, I will write a note for this old tea from StarFevre (thank you!) I bet this was a real gem when it was fresh.  Even now, the lingering lime and watermelon make you wonder why this isn’t more of a common combination.  Supposedly there is green tea here, but I don’t see much.  Otherwise, the hibiscus and rosehips don’t take over, which I’m thankful for, leaving a tangy yet refreshing cup.  I don’t notice stevia here.    I do notice the lime. I do notice the watermelon (flavoring at least) and it’s such an intriguing batch of ingredients I was holding my breath to look at Fusion’s website….. annddd… they DO still have this one for sale!  Good to know, but probably won’t be ordering any time soon (hopefully they still have it in stock when I DO want to order, because there are quite a few that I do want to order….but there are so many teas I want to order from various tea shops. If only there was a universal tea shop that sold ALL the teas from ALL the tea shops…would make things much easier and shipping much cheaper…)

Before I iced this down I decided to try a few sips of it hot. I have to say that this is one tea that is definitely better suited to iced tea. When served hot the tartness from the lime takes over completely and obscures the other flavors. Once I had put it in the refrigerator to chill for several hours it became a whole new tea, the flavors blossomed into the perfect balance of sweet and tart. I was amazed by how much this resembled a fresh juicy watermelon. The flavor isn’t a perfect match, but this is the closest to authentic I’ve come across yet. I may have started out doubtful, but in the end this is a really nice summertime tea.
