From Golden Moon Tea

Our version of Genmaicha takes a traditional Japanese Genmaicha and added ceremonial Matcha powder to it. This kept the amazing toasty, sweet flavor of Genmaicha and the Matcha added a third element to the taste – creaminess. This creaminess really puts this tea over the top.

We feel this tea is so good that it is perfect for the non tea drinker. The amount of flavors that are in our Genmaicha Matcha will convert the most anti-tea drinker into a full blown tea junkie.

And to add icing on the cake, Matcha is actually one of the healthiest things you can drink. To make Matcha, they take the finest Tencha leaves (Japanese green tea) and grind them into a fine dust. The result is you actually drink the tea leaves, which make the antioxidant level 10x the normal cup of tea.
Ingredients: Japanese Bancha, Toasted Rice and Ceremonial Matcha •

I do love GenMatcha, I love every thing about it from its nuttiness, creaminess, earthiness, etc and so on.
I will say this one is alright. I would drink it pretty much anytime.
However, if it were my dime. I would get Den’s brand – it is a lot richer than this one.
This one has all the flavor components but is a bit weaker and lacks some of the complexity of Den’s.

I have never tried a Genmaicha Matcha before. I brewed this at 160 for 1 min. as recommended on package, not at 212 which was on their website instructions. It was a very pleasant cup of tea with a beautiful vivid green color. The toasted rice added something extra that I really enjoyed. I found that if I steeped at 175, it seemed a little bitter, so I will stick with 160. Would definitely order again.

Sipdown (150/155)!

Thank you 221Tea for the sample! It’s been a while (well, a few weeks maybe?) since I’ve had a hot cuppa Genmaitcha and man was it good to have one! I needed that sweet cup of roasty, toasty goodness!

This one was definitely very pretty to look at; dry the brown rice was all a brilliant bright green from the matcha it was coated in, and steeped up the liquor was a slightly cloudy green as well! I wish I’d made it in my clear glass mug so I could have looked at it better. It was perdy.

Taste wise, this was pretty straight forward: vegetal green and toasty rice. It leaned a little more towards the toasty side which did surprise me a little considering the matcha in the mix. I was braced for something a little more vegetal.
