Another gorgeously fragranced Golden Moon tea! Those people are good. There’s vanilla up front, of course, but there’s also this lovely suggestion of milk chocolate in the background. The jasmine comes to life in the steep, as the vanilla mellows out a bit. After around 2-3 minutes, the resulting brew is a gorgeous amber brown color (a VERY welcome change from my earlier tea today, which was a scary, medicinal yellow). The sample pouch calls for a 3-5 minute infusion, but I’m erring on the side of caution – I’ve had enough bitter tea for one day!

Unsweetened, you get a lovely, soft mouth feel, not unlike the sensation of a really good piece of chocolate melting away. Jasmine up front, with a vanilla-y wash on the end. Definitely another one I’m saving the pouch from, so I can sniff it..

Sweetening this has the same interesting reversal of taste that the Coconut Chai did. Golden Moon, you tricky little people, how do you DO that?? The scent of the vanilla jumps back to life after sweetening, and the tastes kind of flip flop, but not entirely. It may just be my nose playing tricks on me, but I definitely get more of the vanilla up front in the sip, which washes into the jasmine, and back to the vanilla again.

I have no idea how Golden Moon does it, but they do it well. Another incredibly tasty, and
satisfying, cup! This is going perfectly with a babka one of my co-workers made (which is
more like a drier, lighter hot cross bun!) Yum. =) Can’t wait to see what a second steep does!!

This is more what I thought tea was before I started drinking it. It’s what kept me a satisfied coffee drinker for so long. Nothing wrong with it – the Jasmine is aromatic and evident, the Vanilla is sweet and delightful – I just enjoy the flavor of tea more than I do the “extras”, I guess.

My wife enjoyed it, and it’s low enough on the caffeine scale to enjoy pretty much anytime. For me, what I have left will sit right where it is until I make her some more.

Was very productive today…cleaned out two of my tea shelves. I mainly wanted to pull out teas that need to be cleared out. I found about 4oz of Yumberry Wulong separated it different spots. That is a clear sign I have too much tea.

So I figured I really need to sip down teas that are in baggies from swaps. This could have been in my cupboard for a year! I really have no idea when I got it.

Upon opening I really did not smell much in the way of jasmine or vanilla! In fact I really couldn’t smell even the tea base so had to come on here and look it up. Once brewed though I could clearly smell the jasmine and vanilla!

Being this sample is old I really don’t taste too much jasmine. In fact, I really dislike vanilla teas because tea companies don’t seem to pair them with the right black base. This is perfect in both regards. I’m definitely going to get some of this some day…fresher of course – lol.

I haven’t had this in ages but I remember liking it.

Sample. Had high hopes for this one, but really didn’t like it so much, darn it. Didn’t seem particularly jasmine-y or vanilla-y.

I wasn’t expecting to like this one, and I’m not a huge fan of jasmine. (What’s with me drinking teas with flavors I’m not crazy about today? :P) My only experience with it so far had been in Teavana’s Body + Mind, where it completely overpowered any other flavor the tea might contain. But I wanted to give it another shot, and the combination with vanilla intrigued me.

The leaves smelled predictably like a combo of vanilla and jasmine, with vanilla on the front end and jasmine lingering afterwards. An interesting scent.

The tea itself smells much like the leaves did, but I feel like there’s a bit more combination of the scents, whereas the scents were coming off the leaves separately.

The taste? Mmmmmm. Lightly jasmine with sweet vanilla. I’m pleasantly surprised! :) The black tea in this does come into play a bit, too, but it really fits very well with the vanilla and jasmine. I like this!

I found the vanilla too overpowering in this tea. Very little jasmine came through. Too sweet for my taste.

Taken with rock sugar.

I don’t taste any jasmine (Nathaniel says I put too much sugar in and overpowered it… then he said the vanilla masks it…. I’m not sure if it’s my fault or GM’s fault).

An okay vanilla tea, but I’m not terribly fond of vanilla teas.

Brewed 3 min. 1Tsp raw sugar. Hot
The jasmine is subtle enough to be un-offensive which is nice. And the vanilla really rounds out th flavor. If you like Jasmine that is mellow this is worth giving a shot.
