From Great British Tea Store

Pecan Pie is a true north american favourite and although the British didn’t have a hand in creating it we had to have this spectacular tea in our store. Using a mellow South African Rooibos as a base and with added pecan and caramel pieces among other ingredients this tea will instantly remind you of the sweet, nutty treat that is a Pecan Pie. This tea is perfect as a desert tea so make sure you leave space for it.

Ingredients

CONTAINS NUTS. Rooibos, Pecan & Caramel pieces, Calendula petals, Nut Oil, Natural flavors.

I’m always wary of rooibos blends, as they can be quite nasty if they’re not flavored well. But Great British Tea store seems to do them quite well! This one probably needs to be sweetened to really have that gooey sweet flavor I associate with pecan pie. But on its own, I still find it quite tasty! A nice nutty/pastry flavor with a pleasant aftertaste and none of the offensive woodiness often associated with rooibos. I also smell some caramel in the blend, but I’m not really tasting it in my cup.

This was pretty good, but I have to say, I don’t get a strong pecan flavor out of it. It is nice and sweet and dessert-y, and I definitely taste the “baked pastry” type flavor…but the nut for me was totally missing. I liked it best with some almond milk to make it taste creamier.
