Wow! I was so confused in the beginning of this cup but found myself IN LOVE!
See full review here http://sororiteasisters.com/ on the 13th.
I just want to say thank you to Invader Zim for sending me this GENEROUS sample!
I would not NEED to order more but I do want to get some so I can have the tin for it to have a deserving home!
I love the tart lemon (not sour) and the grassy flavor for the floral notes to rest on.
There is a shy sweetness about this tea that is NOT cloying at all.
Its so perfect!
YUM!

Thanks to ashmanra for this one, I am enjoying it this morning. I’m not going to rate it because my taste buds are totally askew from not feeling well but it’s a nice blend of citrusy flowers and it did the job to perk me up this morning. :))

I am trying to find some green teas to like because I almost exclusively drink black tea and I think drinking green will make me feel somehow more noble! Since I am not a fan of green teas the flavoring is going to be key. This one is so aromatic it is palpable when you open the tin. Lovely! And the steeped tea was very drinkable for me. I thought I was tasting oranges but the description says lemon. Shows how much I know! Maybe the three flowers blended in had an effect! And on that note….this tea is BEAUTIFUL! If you are having a group over for tea, put this in a nice glass container with a tight lid and keep it out as part of the decoration because these petals are bright and colorful and cheering!

Tea of the afternoon…..

And tea 23 of 24. First of all, I have to say this has been a great way to encourage me to really tackle my sample stash. I also love that these samples were all basically gifted/swapped to me. It really makes me so thankful for this community where we all understand each other’s tea obsession. And that however you choose to drink it, it should make you happy. I have to admit in real life, there are only a few who get it. So, I would like to thank you all for sharing your tea, as well as your impressions of the tea you are drinking. The reviews have been invaluable in my tea journey. And this community has helped it along so much. Thank you!

This sample comes to me from ashmanra. She was generous enough to share her Harney greens with me. I really appreciate that, because it is a place I order often, and I am trying to drink more green tea. This particular tea is a lovely green with a light citrus and a light floral taste. It makes me think of Spring, even though there is a light dusting of snow on the ground today. I am enjoying this, but I think floral and green tea is not a combo that I would drink regularly. I still prefer the Tropical Green from Harney. (I have a sample of Bankok to try in the new year! I am so excited!)

Mug method, about 185 water, about 2 tsp tea, 3 minutes. Tasted without additions, then added a super light amount of sweetener just to bring out the flavors a little.

Received some of this loose leaf from FrenchVanilla. This is bright and citrusy. I can really taste the tart lemon. I was scared upon sniffing the leaves as it smelled very vegetal, more along the lines of green teas I don’t care for, but it really surprised me. Lightly floral and really citrusy. This paired well with my orange chicken and rice Smartones.

Green Tea, Herbs, Flowers, Citrus, type tasting tea! This isn’t too shabby…a little grassy to offset the fruity…interesting!

I really enjoy this one. It’s lovely to look at, it smells wonderful and tastes delicious. Very sweet citrus, not bitter, and floral mixed in. A very uplifting and yummy green tea!

I would like to restore some balance in my cupboard by extending my Green Tea range, however I find most I try way too vegetal for my liking .. So I was nervous yet open-minded and hopeful when I tried this sample ..

I cut open the triangular sachet (silk bag) to get a better look at what was in this blend .. Can easily identify the Green Tea Leaves, Calendula Petals (and a seed for that matter), Blue Cornflower Petals, Citrus Peel (great big chunks!) , and possibly Rose Petal ? There’s also some other outer-husky ‘straw like’ bits, stems possibly? .. And I’m not sure about the rest ..

Unfortunately even brewing this at a lower temp and for less amount of time than suggested left me with such an astringent brew that I had to sweeten with honey to drink ..

Second steep gave similar results so this is definitely not for me .. Hence I’m not going to rate it as it doesn’t seem fair ..

I was let down by my earlier fruity-sweet green tea experience today, but I still was craving something like it, so I decided to try this tea instead. Right away, the aroma of the leaves is so much nicer to me, smelling of lemony goodness like a lemon drop candy. While it was steeping the green tea aroma started coming through. Ahhh, this tea is delicious. I do really love a citrus flavored tea. Its easy to overpower a green tea with fruit flavors; the right balance is key. This makes a lovely green tea with a refreshing, bright flavor.

I love the aroma of this tea, both the dry leaves and the brewed liquor. I stand by my assessment of lemon candy! The flavor is much milder, but still delicious. Clearly I’m a big fan of citrus flavored teas. I’m definitely bumping my rating up on this one.

A great change-of-pace green tea, Chinese Flower has just the right amount of citrus and flowers. Substantial but not heavy. I find that I am never NOT in the mood for this tea. Calming and slightly fruity, a nonoffensive taste that is usually a good bet for a visitor who isn’t sure what they’d like to drink today.

Last night I received my Harney & Sons order which included several Tagalongs to try. I have traditionally been a black tea consumer and my experience with green teas is limited. This morning at work, I opened up my Tagalong container and from the moment the tin was opened, I was enchanted with the aroma of the blend. Visitors to my office notice the bouquet and admired the smell too. Adding hot water to the sachet just made it better and after watching it brew a few minutes and having the first taste, I feel as though I have a garden party in my mouth. It is wonderful. Someone else mentioned lemon drop candy, and yes, I agree, there is a taste of that with the flowers mixed in. At first I simply noticed that it was citrusy and floral and the longer I drink it the more lemon I taste. It is smooth, mellow and has body to the tea. The color is a medium to light honey color. Overall, I like this very much and will definitely buy more. I am not able to discern what the floral tastes are. I may pick up a slight rose taste but there are more flowers than that. The tea blend itself is beautiful visually and has large chunks of what appear to be orange peel, even though it taste more lemony. Yes, I will definitely add more to my cupboard of this blend. It will be among my favorites.

This used to be my staple tea when I was at work (Barnes & Noble carried it when I was employed there), and I would be so sad on days when we ran out. I love the subtle floral flavor of this tea, although the blend has a tendency to change time to time and it doesn’t always taste quite the same. While I love the stuff, I am very occasionally disappointed with it and would generally not drink anymore from the same tin.

Chinese Flower was one of the first blends by H&S I tried after I fell in love with their “Bangkok” tea. It’s a bright citrusy green tea with strong floral flavours. This one is pleasant at almost any time.

Delicious! An experience for all the senses. It’s visually attractive, it smells like no tea I’ve ever smelled, and it tastes incredible. with a bit of honey to sweeten it up, this is practically perfection.

Another ashmanra gift… (You can’t imagine how lovely the package she put together was.)

Chinese Flower is not only a delicious green, but it’s absolutely lovely to look at as well. The tea is interspersed with flower petals of yellow, blue, white and pink. It’s beautiful! The scent matches the visual aesthetics as well. It’s a crisp scent, like freshly picked flowers from a garden infused with citrus.

I steeped very lightly and quickly with this one, not wanting to have a veggie/floral combination. The scent is predominately citrus now, but the floral aspect is still somewhat present. The taste is really nice. Yes, very lemony, but it’s a sweet tasting lemon flavor. The floral scent isn’t really in the flavor so much. The green is perfect with this one as there is no bitterness in my cup. It’s slightly grassy tasting, making a fresh pairing with the citrus.

Thank you, ashmanra, again!

Nicole

I find this tea to have a strong lemon taste. Lovely to look at but not my favorite green tea.
