From Harney & Sons

Mangalam is a lovely Assam. With the increased demand for cheaper CTC, stylish Assams like this tea are getting rare. This “broken” Assam has a nice mixture of body and sophistication.

I’ve been so very busy trying to do 4 jobs at once. I used up my old assam from a tea company that’s no longer in business so I tried this one. Its very brisk but rough more harsh tea and less malt than I was hoping. I love a malty assam but I like some smoothness if that makes sense. This is relegated to my second cup of the day. The second cup of black tea is for when I have to work really hard most days 1 black is all it takes. I hope I can find a smoother assam soon. In the mean tiem what this does have its lots of get up and go the brisk and brusqueness of it get my writing and moving instead of dreaming at my desk!

A beautiful reddish colored tea; brisk and with great body. I will be drinking this one for the simple joy of the tea, in and of itself.
